I typically go to the Centurion Lounge or an airline lounge before a flight out of Phoenix Sky Harbor Terminal 4 though one time, I wanted to avoid a long wait and give the Escape Lounge a try. I'm very glad I did as I found that they serve food out of the same kitchen as the Centurion Lounge, is less busy than the Centurion Lounge, and has some other amenities and perks that I didn't recall at the Centurion Lounge. Now, I use both lounges interchangeably depending on my schedule, availability, and if I feel like being surrounded by people. Both the Escape Lounge and the Centurion Lounge have an entrance near the high numbered B-gates. You enter an enclosed area and go into the particular line for whichever lounge you want to enter. Often, the Centurion Lounge has had to call you back from a waitlist when there are too many people. I've never had to do this with the Escape Lounge. From there, I can take the elevator or stairs and turn a corner to go right into the Escape Lounge. There often isn't a person at the entrance to the Escape Lounge so you can walk right in. Though note: if you go to one of the two lounges, you cannot go to the other one on that particular day. You then are in a lounging area with comfortable chairs before getting to the bar. The food and non-alcoholic drinks are to the left along with the restrooms. The Escape Lounge is not a large large lounge; however, it has anything you would want in an airport premium lounge. Entrance to the Escape room includes unlimited fast WiFi, charging ports and power outlets, print, scan and copy services, Pressreader (access to 7,000+ newspapers and magazines), and complimentary food and beverages). I have always found hot food items and a variety of cold food items though with less staff than the Centurion Lounge, the food isn't always replaced as quickly as it could. Even so, I have enjoyed the variety of food, which is more than most of the airline lounges. Again, the quality of the food is very good as it comes from the same kitchen as the Centurion Lounge. In the seating area, there are also a half dozen or so jars with candies, pretzels, chocolate, and more that you can help yourself to (which is a larger selection than the Centurion Lounge). According to their website (https://escapelounges.com), Escape Lounges accept guests flying with any airline or class. Children and babies are welcome to enter the lounge, with those aged 24 months and under entering for free. You can pre-book from $32, walk up and pay at the door, or enter with special access using an applicable membership or credit card or gain access through your airline. Compatible cards and programs include various American Express credit cards, the Priority Pass program, the Dragonpass program, the TAV Passport Card program, and Dreamfolks Card program. I use the American Express Platinum card to access the Escape Lounge and find that I can bring guests with me whereas you can only do that with the Centurion Lounge if you meet a certain spending threshold. Also, Centurion Card Members receive a premium complimentary sparkling wine with proof of the Centurion card. read more

My family couldn't get into the Centurion lounge, so we went to the Escape Lounge literally next door. The food is the same as in the Centurion lounge, but the space was a lot smaller. We were able to get four seats together, so it wasn't a problem, and the servers were SUPER friendly and helpful rearranging some of our seats and picking up our empty plates. At one point, I went across the hall to the Centurion lounge to check it out, and I found that although it was bigger, there were way more people in there, so it felt more packed even though there was more room. And again, the food was the exact same. My only complaint was that the two bathrooms in the lounge were constantly in use. I waited in line for 10 minutes before leaving the lounge and using the bathroom in the main airport. Overall, the Escape Lounge was wonderful. Everyone was friendly (including the person who gave me a tour of the Centurion lounge), and honestly we'll probably do the Escape Lounge again next time instead of the Centurion. read more

Unexpected visit here on our way out of the airport. It was a nice and cozy lounge with some fancy food items on the menu. Portion sizes are very small but you can order as much as you want so that was a good thing. Server was very kind and even got me a ziploc bag so I could take some sandwiches home because I wasn't too hungry there itself. A good array of options for chips and cereals and such that's always there even outside of breakfast hours. Got sandwiches with turkey breast, mozzarella, mixed greens and some cranberry sauce. I believe? Whatever it was the combination was really nice. Salad has fresh greens, aruba, a nice dressing as well as some blue cheese in there. Definitely could have ordered more of these salads because the portion size was quite small. Husband's Jerk Chicken dish was amazing! It was jerk chicken thighs with some succotash of butternut squash and green beans, topped some tomato and candied pecans! What an amazing combination! The food is always great here with a wide selection of breakfast options. They have coffee stations for espresso or lattes, they also have fresh drinks like tea, or agua frescas. I got the grapefruit, pineapple, and watermelon agua fresca. The bar opens at 10:30 but they serve mimosas before. I paired my meal with a mimosa! Travel Joke: My pet kangaroo doesn't like traveling -- he's such a pouch potato! We came here before our early flight. Mimosas and a light breakfast buffet was served and demolished. It's pretty standard and basic fare so if you don't have a membership that lets you in free, I'm not sure I'd say it is worth the price of admission, at least for breakfast. There are plenty of seating and numerous electric outlets for you to charge your phone or work on your laptop if you so please. I saw quite a few travelers nestled in nicely for a kip before their flight. I like Escape Lounge. It's cool, it's comfy, and the staff here are really nice! read more

July 15, 2025. We reserved a place at this escape lounge for our family of 5 to rest after a long overnight flight and a 4 hour layover before the next leg. There were sections of 4 chairs, I grabbed one more to bring over for my other child and was told I could not move them. I explained it was for my daughter and the employee told me no. I was shocked. So I had my daughter share a chair with me. We were exhausted from flying all night. I nestled on the floor between our chairs and one of my kids nestled in the chair to sleep. The same employee came and told me that I could not lay on the floor and that my daughter could not lay in the chair. Again, I was shocked. The place was otherwise nice and clean with good food and drinks. read more

What a joke of a lounge. American Express should be embarrassed to have its name on the door. Looks like the high school food service program, where there is always a reason that they are out of something, closing for service 5 hours early, have half the seating closed down. The picture of the menu says it all. Just imagine this on a larger scale. The gate side seating is more comfortable and clean. The staff tries their best but they are under trained, under prepared and not professionally supervised consistent with what is expected in an Amex lounge. 2 stars is generous. read more

The 2+ hour delayed flight gave us plenty of time to walk/skytram from Terminal 4 to the Escape Lounge in Terminal 3 (w/access via Priority Pass and/or Amex Platinum), and wowwww so glad we did! This lounge is spacious, with better hot food (Mac & cheese, chx rice casserole options) than the usual Priority Pass lounges we've been to, plus soup, salads, cheese & sandwiches etc. The best was the service and complementary beverages; we found a corner and had an incredible waitress (Tatianna) who kept our drinks flowing and dishes removed; no need to leave your bags and walk to the bar! If not careful, I could keep sipping my cab and miss my flight! Ps - bartenders and staff were so pleasant and all seemed genuinely happy to work here- what a rarity these days!! Escape Lounge shares an entrance w/ the Centurion. I've been to both lounges now and they serve the exact same food. I imagine they share a kitchen. Both lounges had rice, hummus, chicken, salad, fruit, and brownies/cheesecake/cookies. Escape Lounge was less crowded & had more available seating when I visited. Nice views. Bathroom situation is there are 2 gender neutral restrooms - opposed to the centurion where men/women are separated and have more stalls. read more

This review is for Terminal 3 Escape Lounge. We had Aaliyah take care of us! She is a gracious and kind host. She would check on us quite often. If you are ever traveling and happen to be at Terminal 3, it's well worth visiting the Escape Lounge. One of the best 45.00 you will spend, in case you have a long layover. Unlimited food (servings are served elegantly in personal sizes but you can eat as much as you are hungry), complimentary drinks except for specialty drinks. Complimentary drinks include wine, spirits and some beer. There are also outlets to charge your phone. I enjoyed my experience here, and I will definitely return each time I travel. read more

Terrible lounge who lied to me and my family about admission. They accept priority pass, the front desk started to admit us, but the bartender/manager came over and had her tell me that there's now a waitlist. The lounge was probably about half full, but regardless I left them the priority pass info and she told me she will text me thru the app to inform me when a spot is open. Was told 15-20min. So I didn't goto a restaurant with my family and choose to wait instead. After about 30 min, my husband who has his own separate priority pass went to check and was told 2-3min more. After another 15min, I noticed that other guest were being admitted without wait. When I went back to check, I was told they sent me message and I didn't answer. I was standing right OUTSIDE the lounge. She then smirked with her manager and said it must be "because of technical difficulties." When I asked her to resend me the message thru priority pass app, she told em that she has deleted me already and refused to send a message. Same for my husbands account. If the lounge doesn't want too many priority pass guests, then just tell me upfront, we would have happily gone elsewhere. Instead we didn't have time to feed our children before boarding. Just miserable people and a miserable lounge. read more

Food is top tier for US. 5/5 relative to other US lounges 3/5 relative to worldwide lounges (China, Hong Kong, and Taipei lounge are at the top, followed by Singapore/Malaysia) Food: 7/5 The jerk chicken is probably the best US lounge dish I've had. And I've been in a LOT of lounges. Sweet, tasty, flavorful. It approaches the food quality of China lounges, which is a very very high bar. Drinks: 3/5 Limited booze selection, especially compared to Centurion. Mixed drinks available but not obvious. Service 4/5 Service can be a bit slow, but they're friendly and checkins after initial order are satisfactory. Didn't bat an eye when I asked for the full food menu :) Amenities: 3/5 Small lounge, sit down orders so can be a bit slow. Only one bathroom. Access: 5/5 Haven't had to wait so far. I guess Amex Plat is still exclusive enough. The entryway usually isn't manned, so I wonder how many people sneak in either intentionally or unintentionally. read more

The lounge in Terminal 3 which is the studio partner is a great little cafe style spot. Stopped in between flights. Was a great option instead of having to go to another terminal for a lounge. The waitress , Tracy, I had was great. She checked on all her customers very consistently. She made the experience a great one. read more

Terminal 4, across from B22, next to Centurion Lounge. (You actually enter from the same door to check in, but once upstairs, the Escape Lounge is on the right while Centurion is on the left.) When I came here, it was after Centurion was closed. This lounge is open from 8a-8p MST, which is longer than the 9a-5p that Centurion is open. However, it's also open to Amex Plat holders. It had an incredibly long wait list and it seemed to be entirely due to COVID-- once I got in (after 40 minutes), the lounge itself was actually quite empty. They took COVID precautions much more seriously than Centurion next door-- including having us order food instead of grabbing it ourselves. Not all drinks were included, but plenty were (beer, wine, some hard liquors for Amex). The food selection was the same as on the other lounge + there was a charcuterie board which consisted of a brie prosciutto sandwich and grapes. There were outlets every pair of seats for charging or working, as I was. The servers were nice, but I think perhaps overworked. The woman next to me was asking about getting a spoon for a good five to ten minutes before finally flagging someone down and getting one. It's a comfy lounge! read more

Located in Terminal 4 across Gate B22. There is an Escape and Centurion Lounge next to each other. I love coming to Escape lounges because you can come here before or after your flight (unlike Centurion which only allows before). THE MENU (4/5): They had a really robust selection of breakfast / lunch and dinner foods! This menu was bigger than previous Escape lounges I have been to before. Due to COVID, it is not self-serve, and instead, they give you a paper menu (or QR) to reference. They have complimentary alcoholic drinks, in addition to more top shelf liquor (you have to pay for those) Before you leave, get a cookie! It's soft, chocolatey, and a little crispy on the edges! THE STAFF (5/5): From seating you to being attentive and getting your order right, they are phenomenal. One thing about the airport is that they know you might be in a rush and are very attentive if you need something before you head out. THE FOOD (2/5): Although they had a great menu, the food was ok only. - Salmon: overcooked and dry - Tomato soup: too watery - Quinoa: the best dish out of all of them - Caeser salad: yummy, but the chicken is dry - Mac & Cheese: super dry, tasted like it was from the box - Turkey sandwich: also really dry - Chacuterie: bread was soft and soggy. What a mess - despite booking a reservation MONTHS prior, we were told reservations mean nothing and we had to wait behind 48 others. After triple checking the website (image attached), we let the woman at the front know per the website, pre bookings are to be honored / access guaranteed. Finally after calling and leaving multiple messages, we were allowed up. The lounge was practically empty, so what was the wait even for??? Seems like no one knows what's on their own website, it was incredibly disappointing amidst a near 16 hour travel day. Honestly? I usually only do lounges when I'm either using a pass or I'm already in a premium cabin that has lounge access. After my experience here, I don't think I'll ever just wait in a terminal on a long layover ever again if I can just pay for lounge access. The Escape Lounge has fully converted me. Not only is the space to sit, there's places to charge your devices, a bathroom, and hello, free food and free alcohol. Excuse me as I drink my monies worth in booze for what I paid to get in here. The one in PHX was far from my terminal, but they kindly arranged airport transport to pick us up and drop us off. The place was clean, had a good amount of plugs (they could use more honestly). Food was good, drinks even better, and those cookies (yum!). I wish I had more time, but if I had another layover in PHX I would def check it out again, especially if I was in that terminal. I 100% wish I could have access to the next food Centurion though, that's supposed to be an amazing lounge. read more

I read some older reviews and was in the fence, but actually this is a better lounge than most. Small, but everyone had a seat, tons of power plugs, and the food is legit!! Today was cold cuts and salad area plus Asian entrees that were actually yummy. Rice, noodles, chicken, beef, veggies, egg rolls- it's a legit dinner. Usually I find myself picking out what looks edible but the food here is GOOD. And the plates are bigger than the itty bitty plates I've seen in other lounges. Cappuccino machine is nice, and of course open bar is perfect. Best $40 I've spent in a while at an airport. Oh and the staff is nice and attentive read more

My husband ordered the white bean hummus and turkey sandwich which tasted fine but the quantity was disappointing. Weird but just not upto the standards compared to other lounges I have been to. Typical priority pass lounge experience. Very basic food choices, if they run out of an item be prepared to wait a long time before they refill. At least the coffee machine was fully functioning in this one. Only worth it if you want preflight drinks or a slightly more comfortable place to sit while you wait. read more

I had never heard of an Escape Lounge before, but I was motived to learn more quickly when I saw how crowded the airport where I had a four hour layover was. I've been to several Centurion lounges before, but I've never seen one that shared stairs and an elevator with another lounge as was the case here. As this is a smaller lounge I'm not sure it would be a great experience if it was crowded, but that's true of almost any airport lounge. When I went it wasn't very crowded it was absolute bliss being able to find some peace and quiet away from people for a few hours. As far as the food offered I honestly felt that it was almost as good as what the Centurion lounge offers. It was a very nice selection of prepared foods, fruits, and sweets. They did have some self service drink stations, but I found it really odd that water wasn't one of them. I had to ask the bartender for a glass of water. I was set to give this place five stars but then I had a bad experience. The bathroom setup is that there are two individual bathrooms, each with a single toilet that anyone can use. I used the first bathroom and when I went to wash my hands I noticed that the automated soap dispenser was blinking because it was out of soap. I then went into the second bathroom to wash my hands and found that the automated soap dispenser was not functioning. I came out and saw what looked like a manager who was training a few other employees. I told her about the soap situation. She thanked me for bringing it to her attention, scribbled something in her notebook, and then continued on with her training as if nothing had happened. Obviously she felt differently, but in my mind all guests not being able to wash their hands after using the bathroom is a huge problem you should work on fixing immediately. I had to take my backpack and luggage downstairs out into the terminal so that I could find a public restroom where I could wash my hands. Over an hour later when I used the first restroom again the soap dispenser was still out of soap. It's such a shame that I left the lounge frustrated by this when it should have been a good experience. read more

I've been disappointed I can't get to the Centurion lounge in PHX because it is located in the other terminal. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw they put the Escape Lounge up my last flight out. The lounge is definitely smaller than the standard AMEX Lounge, but it served its purpose. Food was great, but they are small plates so order several if you are hungry. They came out quickly, but they were a little lukewarm. Server was great, super nice and attentive. Excited to have this option when I fly back home to Phoenix to visit my mom. read more

Plainly put, the service here simply sucks. The staff could care less about the guests (sorry not guests but these humans who interrupt small talk among staff members). This is my third time here and each time has been the same. So today I was not ready to bite my tongue a third time and gave honest feedback to a staff member. She was rude and confrontational. She said if you want better service go to Terminal 4 (this place is in Terminal 3). What chutzpah! So I called the Manager who was kind, courteous and empathetic. Kudos to her. That other staff member with a chip on her shoulder needs to find a job where she doesn't have to deal with customers who pay her salary. Will update on my next visit (last week of August). After I was setup I was approached by a staff member saying I would have to move because "this" table is reserved for parties of two or more. [NOTE: Zero signs indicate this. The table had three chairs- not palatial seating.] So, I ended up sitting in a lounge chair working with my computer in my lap. I do not recommend this lounge for solo business travelers. read more
