The Star Trek ships sure are ghetto, at least their version of it was. We used to love this chain of escape rooms, but this is the second time with them that a puzzle wasn't reset and they had to physically fix it mid game. It started out fine, but very quickly we lost our engagement when a drawer with puzzle pieces was already open (It was something we needed to unlock). Unfortunately, it was something that couldn't be ignored as the game master had to physically come in and stop the game to get it back in place. He said if he didn't then we would be stuck again at another point in time. The real show stopper was some plugs were broken and it made it impossible to do a puzzle. If you plugged two of them in it just fell back out, their solution was to just hold it up at the end and "pretend" it was plugged in XD. By the end we did finish the room and it wasn't honestly fun. The entire vibe was off and the staff were unfortunately lacking in customer service skills. Nothing was offered to compensate for the broken room or the poor quality experience. Overall, the room itself wasn't all that cool, the rundown vibes and broken puzzle wasn't easy to ignore. By the end they had us take a picture and I whispered to my husband "I wish they had a little sign that said 'ghetto' to hold up, because this wasn't it." We had a good chuckle and thank our lucky stars we're not out too much money. But I would not recommend this place, nor would I return to another one of their locations. Some training and business feedback would be to offer a discount/refund on games that malfunction or don't get reset properly. Additionally, if a game is broken then it would be best to warn the customer in case they'd like to cancel or move to a functional room. *UPDATE* I just wanted to finalize this post with an updated experience. I was reached out to by someone from this location and they took my concern seriously. They offered a full refund because of my poor experience and since I didn't live in Las Vegas. I think based on the fast responses and how it was handled that this location will be taking the time to fix the things that went wrong in the future. I would still recommend giving it a shot, as it seems they're open to feedback and making it right if they mess something up. read more

This is one of the best escape room places I've tried. We tried the Star Trek room and had a blast. We had 3 adults and two 11yr olds and we managed to escape with just 3 mins to spare. Kids less than 12yrs old gets a discount so it's very affordable even without Groupon deals. Pros: the entire room is fully decorated with Star Trek like theme as you can see on their website. None of the space are wasted on non puzzle purposes. The puzzles don't use any cheap number locks like most escape rooms. All solutions are either entered via touch screens or by hardwares manipulations. There are no red herrings items that'll waste your time thinking it's a part of the puzzle. The puzzles are in a specific order which I really like. I think there are only 2 on going puzzles at each moment so you can focus on your task. There are enough puzzles to do in order to keep the pressure and the puzzle difficulties are just perfect for my group. The game master also occasionally provide little clues to help push us along. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Cons: there are only 1 tiny room and 1 large room. There are not many moving set pieces like other escape rooms I've been to. Some of the props are slightly wore so we thought they were not part of the puzzle. Overall we had a great time and will definitely return when we revisit Vegas next time. read more

Great experience. We stopped in and we're already impressed by the nice waiting area that is decked out to feel like you're in an escape room lobby. It starts with games on the tables to get your mind working and stimulating decor throughout. There's a nice background for photos and message bubble thoughts. Staff is helpful and quick. We were able to be accommodated in 1 hour and the 6 kids had a blast. They gave them congratulatory bracelets and offered to take group photos for us. Parents had plenty of room to sit and relax or to walk around the shops and stores - grab a meal or boba or ice cream close by. It's also close to the taxi or rideshare service pick up points. My family played our fifth and sixth Escapology rooms at this location, it was a bit hard to find because it's inside the mall and not clearly visible from the parking lot. I've been to both Vegas locations and the lobby is about half the size, but they have a different selection of room themes here and it was easy to book two rooms back to back even same day. I love Escapology's attention to detail in their decor, I feel there are several factors when evaluating an escape room's charm: immersive experience, puzzles, effects, and game management. Immersive rooms: They really excel at decorating each room to make you feel like you've transported your team to a different locale, whether thats a graveyard, jungle, train, or spaceship. Several of the rooms I've played started off dark which added to the mysterious feeling trying to search for clues. Puzzles: Would it be a game if the room was not a bit difficult to figure out? Let's face it, we play escape rooms because we all love a challenge so it's important to have creative puzzles and multi-layer solutions that are rewarding once you figure it out. I like that Escapology has a wide variety of riddle and puzzle types, some you may recognize and others you might need a hint or two to help you understand. Effects: I think effects amplifies the puzzle solving experience. When you finally find that one solution you've been trying to solve for 30 minutes, Escapology adds to the excitement with their theatrics. I won't spoil anything for others looking to play, it's like the cherry on top of a great room. Game Management: Most escape rooms have a game master supervising you while you play, when you start they will ask if you would like a more independent experience without any nudges. This is awesome if you feel confident enough or you want to feel like you solved (or didn't solve!) the room without any assistance. The game master communicates with you through the TV screen near the entrance which I think is a nice touch, it doesn't take away from the immersive experience. Overall, we've played 7 Deadly Sins, Lost City, Murder on the Orient Express, Th3 C0D3, Arizona Shootout, Who Stole the Mona Lisa. I think that Escapology is one of the most well managed escape room companies and we know their rooms are always high quality fun with new riddles. We did the Hangover theme, which is verrrry loosely based on the movie as they can't use any licensed characters or images. We escaped in 49 minutes with 2 hints. Guys, when I tell you this was the best experience we've had doing an escape room, it's because of the amazing game host and game master (Chris H and Emma). Booking online was a breeze and checkin was simple. During this visit, we managed to complete 3 room; Murder Mansion, Vegas Hangover and 7 Deadly Sins. Without giving away too much, the theming was on point and the puzzles were challenging enough to keep our interest. Definitely recommend 7 Deadly Sins if you're looking for a couple of good, fun scares. Again, I can't stress enough how much of an impact having a great and interactive game master has to 1) having fun and 2) completing the room. Chris was awesome. He was highly interactive and played to our game style. Emma came in clutch with a couple of jump scares - more than I'd like to mention. First the good, the lobby/waiting area had a cool vibe and I thought our room was well decorated too. We did 7 Deadly Sins. Now for the rest. I found this experience to be frustrating. I will preface my comments by divulging that we had to choose a harder room than we would have liked to just fit the time slot we had. For us, we arrived early but was brought to our room late. I had used the rest room and noted that our room had a sign on it stating it was cleaned and ready. Normally, I would not have minded but we had another event planned after and we were there like 15-20 mins early. As with most escape rooms, this facility allows players to get clues when you are stuck. However, almost every time we asked for a clue, we were given a clue for what we had already solved. 2 things bad about this. First, if you are going for a quick time, the more clues you use after the first 3 that are free, time is added to your score. So had we been keeping track, we were getting time added to our score for no reason. Second, it does not appear as though someone is actually tracking where you are. Everything is queued up automatically. Plus the clues did not stay on the screen for very long. Lastly, some of these clues are just really hard. How people are even able to get through it is just beyond me. So yeah, I definitely wished we would have been able to try a room that was not as hard. Because we had to ask for so many clues, it became just boring to finish and could not wait to get out of there. read more

They were very accommodating and said that they had another room right then so we quickly signed releases and went into "Seven Deadly Sins". It was so much fun! It was difficult (a 9.5 out of 10). What we liked about this place compared to the other place that we had gone is that you could press a button and they would give you a hint on a screen (we would have never made it out in the allotted 60 minutes without them!). We had a great time at Escapology [Lost City] in town square!! It is located near: yard house/AMC or on the opposite side of the building of Game works/guitar Center. You can reserve your appointment online- quick and easy! Upon entry you walk into a fun and well decorated room that has a super fun vibe. Sets the tone for mystery and adventure! It was clean and very photogenic. They have iPads to sign your waivers but I suggest keeping an eye on your email after you reserve your day/time and gets the waivers done in advance. It was a quick check in and they walk you to your room where Christopher20 and Zach20 gave us the full run through of what to look for, how it works, how to use the different type of locks and if we were interested in hints/cues to help us get to the next clue. Highly recommend the helpful nudges to solve it! We had a party of 5 plus my scardy-cat 5 year old (she felt the Lost Temple was a little too scary for her) and the rooms were just the right size for all of us which kept us on track and confined so we weren't aimlessly wondering around (so I think it is purposeful). The puzzles were hard enough to decipher and the level of difficulty was enough to make it challenging but not super hard where it was confusing or didn't make sense. We did utilize the 3 free hints as well as the little nudges that popped up on the tv screen and we solved the puzzle with 3 minutes to spare. Overall I highly recommend this experience! read more

I am a big fan of Escapology, we have done several rooms at the Maryland Pkwy location and while some I liked better than others all were amazing rooms. This was my first visit to the Town Square location and it met and exceeded the already high bar set by the other Vegas location. To start Town Square is a really amazing outdoor shopping center and this was the perfect addition to the area. While I am local to Vegas so just went specifically for Escapology this is an often overlooked area by tourists which is unfortunate. There are some great restaurants and shops that I would encourage anyone visiting Vegas make a part of the trip. Book an escape room and then spend sometime walking around the center and grab dinner before heading back to the strip, you will not be disappointed. Onto Escapology, we did the 7 Deadly Sins room; while this wasn't my favorite room I've done at Escapology it was still a great experience. One of the things I love about both locations is the atmosphere; they are well decorated with Steam Punk murals and a delightful antique look in the lobby. The staff was amazing, welcoming and helpful throughout the whole experience and both locations are well maintained. The room itself was really a lot of fun, the decor was beautiful and immersive. The plot itself sounds captivating and intriguing but the room itself doesn't really add much to the story beyond the introduction. I would say this room was fairly weak on the story line and more an escape challenge that flows well through the environment. The puzzles in this room we all found extremely challenging for how our minds work. Where many escape rooms are often riddle and lock based this room relied heavily on number and logic based challenges. People who are very logic or mathematics minded will probably really enjoy the puzzles in this room; I am not in that category. I did enjoy the unique puzzles, it was a fun twist, but I will say I found them more difficult than I am used to at my skill level and frustrating at times. My one big complaint about this particular room is the high number of Red Herrings incorporated. I enjoy a bit of misdirection as I think it adds to the challenge but there are three things in this room that appear to be a challenge but serves no purpose. They are convincing enough I am almost certain they were intended to be puzzles which were later removed or just didn't make it into the final play through. That said I still very much enjoyed 7 Deadly Sins; this wouldn't be a room I would recommend to someone newer to escape rooms but more seasoned players I would highly recommend check it out. Truly any room you choose at Escapology is going to be a great experience. There are other great rooms in Vegas but Escapology continues to top my list. read more

I have done a total of three escape rooms now, and I have to say this is quickly becoming one of my favorite activities. For one thing, the escape room is inherently private since only your group is allowed in the room. You can see on the website the attention and care this place devoted to cleaning and safety in these Covid times and with all of that pushed to the back of your mind, you are able to focus on the FUN! And boy, is this fun! I recommend this activity to bond with friends or even to get to know your dates a little better. I do find that it is more fun with a group of 4-8 people because sometimes you need additional brain power to figure out the puzzles and with more brains working to solve more problems, your chance for success is higher. The downside is that with more people, there are more ideas and sometimes that makes it difficult to keep everyone pulling in the same direction. Try to bring a take-charge kind of person who can delegate tasks and people who like working as a team. Escapeology has some of the harder rooms I have tried and that is both good and bad. It's good because it really makes you work out your brain, and it's bad for your wallet because you keep going back! At least they give you discounts for repeat trips. :) read more

We've done a couple of rooms here in town and this one stood out. It's clean, super clean. The lobby is beautiful. We tried the Hangover room and enjoyed it so very much. Probably because we beat the thing. The staff was cool, everything was sanitized for covid, and the game itself was challenging and a hell of a lot of fun. If you're looking for an escape room skip the others and check these guys out. Also, extra points for emailing us our picture for free and not pressuring us to buy stuff. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back and try a different room. And since you're looking just remember it's right by the entrance to McFaddens. Park near GameWorks or Old Navy. This was my first time going to an escape room at this location. My friends and I played "Where is Mona", that is rated as an 8 level difficulty. We throughly enjoyed the room and even escaped with 1:20 remaining! I highly recommend checking this place out and the waiting room is also very nice, multiple couches and chairs accompanied with puzzle games near by. The wall paper and decor definitely sets a mood and is relaxing. The only thing negative I would say about this place is when I downloaded the coupon that is offered on Yelp and showed the employee. She had no clue that the "1 free clue coupon" was a thing and said I don't need it because they will give us clues anyway. Not sure why they even have that on Yelp if it's not a thing. First off, the Groupon doesn't work for Scooby-Doo. I repeat, the Groupon doesn't work for Scooby-Doo (for licensing reasons). It was Eedie's birthday so I called in ahead of time to ask questions about booking a room with a Groupon. I asked the staff member on the phone two specific questions: 1. Does the Groupon work for all games and, 2. Can I use a Groupon the same day. The answer I heard for both questions was yes. Supposedly the staff member (who turned out to be the manager) said she told me that Scooby-Doo was not included in the Groupon but either I didn't hear it or she didn't say it. Who knows. Anywho, after purchasing a Groupon I still had to purchase tickets again for Scooby-Doo because as I mentioned before THE GROUPON DOES NOT WORK FOR SCOOBY-DOO. Upon arrival the manager contacted the GM and he told me he'd handle it (and he did, Groupon was refunded the next day even though I viewed it when I initially tried to pay for Scooby-Doo, thank you GM!). This was our first experience at an escape room (my mother's 2nd time) and the kids had a blast. I was nervous that they wouldn't enjoy it but my 7, 9, and 12 year old all had a wonderful time (so much so that they repeatedly, especially the 9 year old, ask to go back on a regular basis). We're all fans of Scooby so that made it an even greater experience. Being newbies it took us a moment to figure things out but we got pretty far along before time ran out. The room was fun and challenging. We were told but didn't completely understand that we could ask for more hints, which prob would have gotten us even further. Iz, a regular there, did the same room later with her friends and they finished it in plenty of time. We had fun and the decor in the place is really cool, it feels like you're walking around inside a life-sized Clue game. The clues were way easier to navigate and kept us engaged and entertained the whole time I would definitely recommend trying the multi room escapes the more people the more brainpower. The staff here is really nice and welcoming. Especially during COVID they have some good measures to make sure you have a good time. We did two rooms seven deadly sins and the Vegas room. We enjoyed the seven deadly sins as it has a good theme and interesting puzzles. The problem we had was when we did the room with the Las Vegas theme. We have done over 25 escape rooms and this is the first time we did not enjoy a room. When we asked for hints in both rooms, we waited for a minute so the person could type it but didn't get any hint. We had to press the button again and waited to get a two line sentence hint where we already had the answer to. The problem is they don't have an audio so they truly don't know where you need help and I had to write what I needed from them on a board and pointed it at the camera. The answers to some of the puzzles didn't make sense and made it difficult to get the answer. For example there was a part that spelled out numbers but they didn't look like numbers even when you did it correctly. It wasted a lot of our time and a hint. Unfortunately, we've been to other Escapologys and this is the first time we didn't like it. If you go hopefully the other rooms and your experience with their hint system and puzzles don't mimic ours. read more

We went the other night. I thought it would be something fun to try. I had heard about them but never tried one. 2 of us went and I picked the Mansion Murder puzzle. Of all of the rooms listed it sounded like it might be one that was more "adult themed". Staff was professional and really helpful, and the room was very well thought out. As someone mentioned, the room puzzles are linear, and the clues are all there. We ALMOST finished but they asked if we wanted to see where we fell short and I think we would have finished if we had a bit more time. The only reason I give it a 4 star instead of 5 is that the person who came in at the end said how close we were and that we picked the most difficult room. He mentioned that for only 2 people we did really well. If I would have known this, I would have tried an easier one for the first time. That being said, I'd suggest the owners rank the puzzles and state which are easiest to hardest on their website and brochure. I understand the room definitions are part of the experience but a difficulty rating would be helpful. We said we'd be back! read more

VISUALS. Nice visuals and design work. And super clean. Just the right amount of weird, a flashy sprinkle of wtf. I was into it. Personally for me: a challenging but not overwhelming set up. We did the Vegas Hangover. There were some irritating moments for sure, and I was terrified by my own stupidity, lol. But I was told by avid player friends in our group that the "glitches" had more to do with the composition of the game than with the screens we interacted with. Still, for a second I thought two of my friends were gonna break up over it, right there in the escape room, before we could make it out. Wtf lol. I think if you push through and get over your shit it's worth it. In the end we lost a lot of time but when we finally got into our groove there was so much sickening laughter and bonding on a different level. It was really fun and we barley made it out with 4 minutes to spare. Hahahaha. I can look back and laugh and say good times, which is what counts, and also really awesome since it was my first time and prior to my initiation I thought it might be creepy or the day that I learned I'm claustrophobic. I'm not...I mean sometimes I felt like I was in a Saw movie interacting with the cameras but I would most definitely go back and do it again. read more
