I've been here two or three times and the food is also very consistent and they seem to change the menu on a regular basis. This evening my friends and I dined at the restaurant. Our reservation was 6:00 pm. We enjoyed our meal however after I paid our tab of $300+ and we're preparing to leave, an employee came up to our table and informed me that a reservation had been booked for our table and indicated that we needed to leave. We had intended to have another round of drinks but the interaction with the employee was very disrespectful and off-putting. We had just ordered another round of drinks 15 minutes prior and were enjoying the live music. I have never been treated in such a manner and I along with all of my party took great offense to the way we were being treated. I invited my friends out to this restaurant for an enjoyable evening and felt embarrassed when the employee approached the table. I informed the employee that I had just paid our tab and we were gathering ourselves for our departure. I intended to buy another round of drinks for my friends and myself but the interaction with the employee rushing us away from our table changed that. I have never been treated in such a manner as I have visited this restaurant multiple times previously. When I tell you everything I had was good Omg!!! My date had the jerk chicken pasta, I had the Escovitch fish and then the appetizer we chose was the jerk chicken nachos made with plantain chips .Everything was full of flavor ,beautiful presentation and came quickly . I love how they served fresh warm coco bread and butter while we waited . The service was top tier and the staff were all professional,patient and consistent. Really like this quaint place since it's close by. I normally order the oxtails which are really good along with appetizers. This time we tried a different appetizer -- the nacho jerk appetizer. It's my least favorite app and would never order again. The nachos were soggy and tasteless, and we barely had jerk chicken on top of the nachos. We informed the manager, but he said some people like it and kindly removed it off our table but not our bill. (FYI -- If you don't like it, the manager will not replace it with anything else and will not remove it off your bill). Blow Wow shrimp - 9/10 - you get about 6, Have a great flavor. Pricing: This is one of those "you get what you pay for" type of things! I personally didn't mind spending $28 on a plate that has me reminiscing for days following. I was at the event center 2 doors down and decided to try them after my event because of all the good smells that were coming from the place. We were seated inside in a booth against the wall (later asked if we could move tables for the DJ to set up). While somewhat of am inconvenience luckily we hadn't gotten our food to the table yet. The server helped me to get a better feel for what was on the menu and thoroughly answered my questions. They offer a wide variety of authentic food and drinks; in addition they help to bring some of the island feel to northern Georgia. The only reason I gave them 4 stars was because it seemed like the chicken dish my wife ordered was lacking some chicken. There were very few pieces considering the price. You would never know when you approach this place how lively it is inside. But as soon as you open the door, the music hits you and the energy is live. We made a reservation just in case and I am glad we did. The place is a cozy restaurant with a bar as soon as you walk in. We were seated and we ordered a variety of food. We ordered the Cauliflower and it was a good start. It actually reminded my of something I've had in a Chinese restaurant. For the entrée, I had the Jerk Chicken with rice, and I asked for a side of Scotch Bonnett pepper sauce. My wife had the Jamaican Sampler that included Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, and Oxtail. One of the kids had Chicken and Waffles while the other got the Island Pasta. The spice level of my Jerk Chicken was just right and the portion was good. I also sampled the Chicken and Waffles. I like Jerk Chicken but I think I'll get that dish next time. The Pasta was soon gone so I couldn't take a bite of that. Overall a good find for Jamaican food. read more

We were actually on our way to another restaurant that had an insane wait list so upon leaving we stumbled upon this establishment and I'm glad we did. Walking in transported you to a date night on a Caribbean island. The decor was "Irie!", the hostess was very welcoming, and the reggae music was serenading. This was brilliant and tasted so good! The drinks we ordered were just OK and unfortunately took a very long time to come out with one being forgotten so I had to delete a star for that reason. However, the staff was personable, helpful and many staff members checked on you constantly. The owner Georgia came out and chatted with us too she was lovely. Our entrees consisted of Oxtails and Escovitchez whole fish which both were excellent. I purchased a $40 Lambchop dinner which was dried out although I asked for it to be medi rare. in total with other items i spent $84. I called the establishment immediately and spoke with the manager DorryLee who asked me to return the food. I explained to her that i lived quite a distance that could I return it at another time (most resturant do not asked for the food to be returned) however I advised her that I would refrigerate the food and bring it back the next time I am in the area. I did just that. Dis to a disability that do not allow me to drive I had to wait until my daughter had the time (college student) to take me. I return a couple days later and Ms Dorrylee was very nasty, rude and unprofessional. she refused to take the foid akthough the moment it left the store there was nothing she could with. it should have been resold. she would allow me to speak with her boss. I was a frequent customer but it saddens me that a black owned establishment would treat their customers in such manner. Escovitchez is located next to the longhorns and I'm really happy I came here instead. There is an upscale island vibe that smacks you when you walk in. The drink menu is fruity and tropical with creative island themes throughout. There's bread service while you look over the menu, I had the Caesar salad and the Red Peas Soup as an appetizer. I LOVED the soup, it's not everywhere you can get a great tasting red peas soup. They used beef and no pork I really loved it. Dinner was cooked to order so there was a little wait, but I had drinks and good conversation while building anticipation. My pasta was yuuuuuge and fantastic, creamy with the right spices, and a variety of vegetables. The shrimp was grilled to perfection and seasoned with care. For dessert I had the blue mountain coffee creme brûlée. Blue mountain is said to be the best coffee in the world and I gotta say, it's up there with the best coffee dessert I've had! I'm particularly impressed that the sous chef Michale and the chef came out to talk to us about our meals and enjoyed making my keto brunch so much that they are considering putting it on the menu!
