I was just in with a party of 4. There was only one other table that had people. So we figured with our time sensitive schedule it was the best option. We were greeted my an unenthusiastic server. We were given water and our order was taken and that was the last we saw of our server. Both servers were completely preoccupied eating their meals and paying attention only to the other table in the restaurant. When asked where the restroom was, he first finished his convo with the other worker then without acknowledging me shoo'd me away like a mosquito. After 45 minutes of not refreshing our water and no food or even a check in to let us know. We asked the server how much longer for our food and with a mouthful of his meal said "oh.... lemme check". OK food, poor service. Tiny menu of basically bar food. Neither the shrimp and grits nor mediterranian "bowl" were as described in menu. S&G gravy was greasy and incredibly spicy. Bowl was a plate of salad over quinoa. Service was odd: we were seated fast, our drinks, then food orders taken fast. Drinks brought fast. Food came much slower. Then we became invisible. I walked in with an admittedly difficult table of 3. My two joiners were specific and just wanted certain things. We were never rude or mean. All I wanted was a beer and a shot. My beer was wrong, and when I brought it up to my server (who was wonderful) he informed he we were out of my beer. If you know beers - you can't pass a wheat or an ipa off as a sour... as he waited for my other beer, your female bartender glared at me to the point where I couldn't make eye contact. The male bartender came out and talked and was wonderful. I'll be back because I've had better experiences, but this was so uncomfortable. I've been here before and enjoyed the drinks, and thought the bar was awesome, but a lot has changed... Visited this past weekend with friends and from slow service to rude and racist remarks from the bartenders and other guests, I definitely will not be returning! In addition, the bar ran out of some of their special cocktails before midnight, which was odd. It was an unfortunate experience, but I will ensure my family and friends avoid this place. Establishment wasn't quite what I was looking for. In Atlanta nowadays you have to be a really stand out "establishment" to earn repeat business and compete with other new places opening up everyday. This place fell short for me in most categories. Drinks: The bar is beautiful with a wide array of options, however the drinks I tried were just OK. I started with a "Horse's Neck" which was a bourbon cocktail. It was much too sweet. For my second round I told the server that I wanted something less sweet and he suggested a Kentucky Mule, which is the equivalent of a Moscow Mule, only made with bourbon. I asked to have less ginger beer and he said he would bring me some on the side in case it was too strong. I agreed to this but was charged $1 for the ginger beer. Um, why? Because I got it in a separate cup? It was part of the drink anyway. Moving on.... Service: No complaints here. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Food: Nothing to write home about. I went with a group and between the four of us we ordered a wide variety of items from the menu. I ordered a roasted veggie dish that was served with a red pepper coulis and capers. It sounds good but it was lacking in flavor. The veggies needed more seasoning and for $14 I think this dish should have been served of quinoa or something. One of my dining companions ordered a meat/cheese board and said it was just okay. Again, nobody was addressing any letters to Mom over the food. Atmosphere: we went on a weeknight and the place was chill and moderately busy. We had a reservation and were promptly seated but there were plenty of open tables. The decor is rustic and tavern-like but in a modern way. Honestly, I was most impressed with the aesthetics of Establishment than anything else. I did take note of an impressive patio that I'm sure is lovely in warmer months. Location: the location is terrible. Establishment sits in Colony Square and there is no street parking or even free parking. I parked in the Lanier lot adjacent to the Scad theater on 14th street and even with a validation I had to pay $4. I know that's not a lot, but it's still paying to park. My friends used valet, which was $10. This was definitely a hit it and quit it stop for me. read more

I really, really liked establishment. it's your typical, currently trendy yuppy style with smart decor and a crowd to match. It was crowded, but not overbearingly. And the drinks were on par with the prices you would suspect from the atmosphere ($10-$15). What I liked a lot was the veranda that overlooked patio area of the bar. I will need to come back to try some of the foods, which looked scrumptious. The staff is very quick at cleaning up any small mishaps. We came on a Friday and while it was barely 10 pm, people were already dropping their drinks left and right. I give this place a two stars. Our friends and I came to celebrate his birthday. We had a reservation and I arrived early. The hostess was awesome. Showed us around and took us to the upstairs igloo bar which was super awesome. They had great seasonal drinks as well. That's when it went down hill. After sitting down at our table one of the chairs was broke and about dumped a friend on the floor. Not huge deal it happens. After 15-30min we finally ordered. Appetizers were on point and amazing. The entree were on the other hand not. The skirt steak was chewy mostly grizzle and burnt as well as poorly seasoned. The chicken sandwich was so dried out it was inedible, mostly likely cause the chick breast was massive and they had to cook it throughly but in process dried it out. Our waitress wasn't to impressive either. Very sweet and nice but I could never find her. I don't think was all her fault as I think she was stretched thin. The drinks we ordered as well were subpar to be far. The drinks from igloo upstairs were amazing so not sure why the downstairs were not great. Overall subpar place. The service here is really really bad. I called ahead of time to confirm my reservation and I even had the person on the phone repeat the information back to me. When I arrived the host was super unfriendly and told me I had not made a reservation but he would seat me anyways (I literally confirmed this reservation 2 hours prior). Anyways, after being seated it took about 20 minutes for the waiter to even come to our table. Drinks took about 15 minutes each to come out even though the restaurant was not even remotely busy. Our waiter was really unfriendly and really bad service. If you're considering coming here, just don't. Pick somewhere else. Classic men's den decor... very typical, but still nice //THE BAD:// Food, Skimpy Server Clothing Okay, not horrible, but just basic. I don't understand why main Midtown has such basic regular restaurants. Yet "West Midtown" is a culinary haven. Is it because our location is better so rich people can afford to just follow their side passion and open an restaurant in the best location, but get away with basic food. Then in West Midtown, its cheaper so the "real chefs" get a good enough deal to follow their passion?! As you can see, this has been bothering me, its an anomaly I tell you *fist raised to the sky*. Also, the servers were giving me too much sexy for the classic environment. The clothes were too tight maybe, idk, but that stood out. It was awkward. We visited the Establishment for drinks after dinner on a Saturday night! This was my first time visiting since the remodel and I was pleasantly surprised at the upgrades that have taken place here. It was a little dead for a Saturday night in midtown, but the bartenders were great and the service was amazing as always! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a more sophisticated place to have drinks or if you're looking for a nice date spot! I still have not tried the food here, but it is on the list. This is a very elegant spot in midtown atlanta and there are plenty of other bars and restaurants around! This was a great spot for lunch! Cozy atmosphere (especially on a cold day). Opted for the beef burger and it was excellent! The onion jam and beer cheese were the perfect combination. The Establishment has a friendly wait staff but the late night food is lacking. We ordered the burger and the wings. The burger was very tasty, but I would not recommend the wings. My wife asked for well done wings but they came out soft and under cooked. The bones were red with blood. Terrible! I visited Establishment with a group of coworkers. We chose it because of its location across from our office. I can't quite place the theme of the decor. Nautical? Metropolitan Grandpa? It looks rich with lots of wood and dim, with just a bit of light passing through rows of liquor bottles. The patio looks great for small groups and it is not disjointed from the restaurant proper. Now to the nitty-gritty. Their lunch menu is tiny. Like, maybe six options...? None of them are vegetarian friendly unless you are o.k. with eating raw greens for lunch. I don't know about you, but I'm not a cow or a rabbit. I asked about coffee and they only had espressos. Really? The espresso didn't have much crema on top, which for you coffee troglodytes, means that the beans were not very fresh. Womp womp. To add to the underwhelming lunch selection, a film crew from Atlanta Eats was lurking around, shoving cameras and microphones in our faces. They kept trying to pressure us into declaring our love for Establishment on camera, but most of us had never been to the place before and were pretty apathetic about the food. Came here for a birthday dinner/drinks celebration. It was just barely ok. I saw that the place is best known for craft cocktails. I had 2 cocktails and could barely drink either of them. They were too sweet, too tangy, too.... just off. So, I wanted to switch to wine, but their wine selection was terrible. I guess you don't come here for wine. The best thing we had was the free birthday shot they offered - a grapefruit, vodka, apperol mix. Not bad. The ambience is awesome! Very hipster and cool. I may come back here just for the ambience. The food was ok, but not thing that would stand out or make me want to return. All in all, it's another place that seems to be more hype than substance. Too bad, because the location is great. I cant say enough about David Reed and how he made our wedding rehearsal dinner amazing! We spoke to several other venues and the way David accommodated us makes this the premier Wedding rehearsal venue. We were socially distanced and outside! This space is beautiful with other things to do in the area, but most importantly our guests are still raving about how good the food was. We had an array of Wings(all flavors but the Jerk and Lemon pepper are A1), shrimp, chicken and pork sliders, salmon, and Steak. My father who is very picky about his steak couldn't believe how good theirs was. We will be returning to have dinner at The Establishment anytime we are in town and also looking to host our seasonal Christmas parties here. Where do I begin....... I will not be returning to this resturant it wasn't worth it. The decor is unique and reviews make you think you are in for a great time. We went for a private party. Our friend reserved the private room in the back. One would think this means they would assign 2 waitresses since they were expecting 15 people, nope. They gave us one totally inexperienced waitress who wrote nothing down and could not remember anything down to bringing ice water. 1. Poorly trained staff who kept screwing up the food orders. Even after they were notified of a food allergy to diary they still made the dish with cheese all over it for our friend who was 9 months preggo. She could not eat it, it had to be remade. In the mean time she ordered plain fries to get her through until her new dish came. They never brought the plain fries. 2. No organized way of knowing who ordered what when food came out from kitchen. Servers were waling around aimlessly shoving food in your faces and handing it to you instead of placing it on the table 3. Not fully prepared with enough dishes. Every time we ordered something if was we are out of that. They informed the birthday boy of a smoked fried chicken special after 3 ppl ordered it at 830 they were out of if. 4.Had items on their menu they were not currently serving 5. Food takes long, a crab cake took 20 mins and it was an appetizer. 6. Waitress do not pay attention to detail 7. Manager not present to assist with issues. 8.Ladies restroom was disgusting. Water all over the floor and counter. Papers on the floor in stalls as well as out by sinks. Hair on the counters just a total turnoff. 9. Brought food out with no silver wear, had to ask 3 times for this and napkins. 10.Bar does not carry cranberry juice. WHAT! After all the confusion manager never came over once to apologize or offer a appetizer for the issues. Customer service is not their priority. Also, the cow skin rugs all over the floors are a tripping /accident hazard. They are not glued down to the floors and people trip over the edges. One crab cake appetizer was 16$$ it was good but not for 16$. My cocktail was poorly made and if my husband didn't drink it would have gone back like my chicken under a brick meal that had no taste and was dry. The Mac and cheese though was awesome! read more

But the rest of our party showed up and still no one came. We waited a total of 30 minutes and finally my husband went to who looked like a manager. The manager simply said "oh" when my husband said we were waiting for so long. No apology. Waitress and food runner did not have much knowledge about the menu. At first, I was a little nervous about this place, my experiences with food and drink found in a "mall" are probably the same as a lot of yours.....nothing special. This place is different. The atmosphere is different, in a really good way. Indoor seating blends in well with an outdoor area that is really relaxing and inviting. You'll be doing your self a disservice if you do not go and order a few classic cocktails such as Manhattan, old fashions, boulevardier, Daquiri (like a real Daquiri not what usually passes as one in Atlanta) They have an incredible back bar selection. But what impresses me most is that they do not play into the Atlanta theme of "It's busy so it must be good" unlike their neighbors. It is a solid spot to grab a drink and hang out with some friends. First off the place was hard to find once I arrived at Colony Square, but hey they just moved there and signage may have not been in place. The atmosphere was great! Drinks great! Food?? Typical bar fare...I ordered the burger with no bacon as I don't eat pork. You guessed right, it came out with bacon. Due to the cross contamination, I asked for a fresh cooked burger which came out 10 minutes later, cooked to perfection and No Bacon!!! The waiter apologized and comped my 2 beers. We had been wanting to go to this place for quite a while..finally got there for lunch. Out of three dishes the only thing worth eating were the wings. My dad ordered iced tea and when he asked for artificial sweetener (he is diabetic) the waitress looked at him like he had three heads! SHe said, sorry, we only have sugar and that was that. I asked her to check again but she came out with the same answer of NO. My husband didn't like his burger as it had no flavor but when he mentioned it, the staff called out the chef like we are not allowed to dislike her cooking and he had to defend The hostess came over and apologized and asked if we would come back-that she was going to get a meal comp from the chef but gave us nothing and when we saw her before we left she pretended like the offer was never made. All in all I would not go back. The place has great potential but until they get it together and appreciate their customers they won't. I would recommend not taking things so personally and listening to customers. They give you feedback for a reason! We want you to survive but don't mistreat us. Sad management had nothing to say....could. Or recommend until this place gets their act together. We won't be back. Food was not good and service was worse. One of the worst dining experiences I've had. So, I've waited tables for many, many years and I know good restaurant service. The night my friends and I went wasn't it. For starters, the server was neglectful, rude and it was clear he did not want to wait on us. I am not sure if it was because we were a table of black folks or he just wanted his guaranteed 20% without working for it, but the few times he did come around to check on us, he acted as if it pained him to even acknowledge us. Literally the host waited on us the entire time. One person at our table expressed an issue with his drink, and literally the server's response was, "oh, okay." At the price point of the restaurant, I would expect better service. After a while we talked to the manager about our experience. He came up with excuses for the serve's crappy service saying things like "well, he is our best server." Well, he was not for us. All in all, I can honestly say I have never had service at a restaurant as bad as I had at Establishment. I definitely will not be back, and I definitely do not recommend others go either. Unless you want to pay for horrible service that management excuses. read more

Establishment is great. My girlfriend and I love coming here and it's always been a running joke that we need to go get the Don Julio margarita after a long week. Unfortunately, they've recently renovated, and they don't have our margarita anymore! In fact, the entire cocktail menu seems to be a fraction of the size or used to be, which is just a bummer. I still love Establishment, but I'd be lying if I said I loved the new menu. I hope you consider bringing back some of the old drinks! read more
