I grabbed after-work drinks with a friend on January 8, 2020. As my friend and I were drinking, I noticed a dry erase board with the words "A Slave's Greed". The only reason I noticed the white board was because employees kept passing it, and either pointing and laughing or shaking their head at it. I asked the manager to come by and I asked him for context. What is a slave's greed? He indicated that the owner of the restaurant wrote the play and it was a shoutout to him for finishing the screenplay, then he walked away. Afterwards, two employees who overheard me asking the manager the question came to our table and flat out told us that it wasn't true. They both said they were offended by the sign, it wasn't a project or screenplay, it was racists and had been an inside joke that some of the employees were laughing about throughout the day. I asked the manager to come back over and again asked him what the sign meant. He must have forgotten what he told me because he changed his story and said two employees were in a play and "A Slaves Greed" was the name of the play. I asked how in what context could a slave ever be greedy. He had no answer. I asked him if he thought it was appropriate to have such a sign up in an establishment where black people spent their hard-earned money? Again, he had no answer. I told him the sign was inappropriate, offensive and I was fully aware that no screenplay existed. He said "sorry" and walked away. I came in for dinner and drinks. This sign had been up all day. He wasn't sorry at all, just annoyed I complained it. It wasn't until I made him aware that I had a large social media following and I would post it that he even bothered to erase it. Establishment is a wonderful little joint in Midtown. The food is top notch, especially the burger and poutine. The service is very attentive, even when crowded. Let me start with the good. This decor and ambiance is Great! A+. It's very sexy looking in the inside and nice outdoor sitting area. Great spot for groups and for dates. Though it's a large place, it still feels very intimate. Drinks! Come here for the infamous Frosé. It was really good but kind of pricey. $12 and the glass is really small. Now for the bad. Came here ready to sample and rave about everything but it just didn't work out that way. The over all census of the food was bland and just not that good. Ordered the donut onion rings. Tasted like nothing, Had the Cornish hen. Pretty bland. Crab cake was dry and bland as well. Mac and cheese was good. They used goat cheese so it was a littly tangy but I really enjoyed it. Everything else, not so much. The menu has a few other options that look like they might be good. Especially those coming from the BBQ grill. Establishment has good vibe and the bartenders are great. Not only do they make a top-notch cocktail, but they're also very personable. They make an effort to learn your name and remember your drink from one visit to the next. You don't find that at many places. That said, the kitchen appears to be a complete disaster. I can't comment on the food, because I've never been able to eat here. I can maybe understand not having a late night menu, so I can let the first time I left hungry pass. Tonight, however, I confirmed with both the hostess and the bartender that the kitchen was still open. As the bartender was making my drink, the manager (?) came out at 8:53 pm and announced loudly to the bar staff that the kitchen was closed--no more orders. The bartender lobbied to get my order in order, but he was told no. Since I was hungry, I cancelled the drink and went next door to the W. Don't eat here! I didn't realize most of the pictures of food are not recent. There's only four entree choices on the menu. I got the fries, steak entree, and a meatball appetizer. Everything was overpoweringly sweet. It was like eating dessert for dinner. The best thing I had was their ketchup. Don't eat here. Waste of $60. I could have had much better steak for that. It's meant to be a bar and a bar only. Get rid of your restaurant business and focus on the bar. The drinks were quite good. The vibe and overall environment of this place is nice. We loved the outside patio and the beer selection. The smoked salmon salad was solid and the Buffalo shrimp was great. The service was great until there were more than five tables of people seated in the restaurant. Then it took us about 20 minutes to get a check and another 15 to cash out. The wait staff was absolutely wonderful! They did everything right! However, the food was awful. The brisket pot roast was very fatty. The veggies were good, but that was about it. Without a doubt the best new spot in midtown. The patio is quickly becoming my favorite spot in all of Atlanta. The drinks are amazing. The bar snacks are really well put together. We ordered drinks at the bar because our table wasn't ready. The drinks are the bar were good but small and pricey. Once we got to our table we ordered more drinks and this time they came in different glasses and with more so you got a better value. We ordered our dinner about 8 and didn't see our food until a little past 9. They don't have a lot on the menu and most of us got the same thing but for some reason they too forever. I'll give it a try again to make sure it was a one time thing. Our waiter could have been a little nicer. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin ($18) and it was good. Everything was great except the parking situation. That is the only reason for the low rating and will most likely make me not go back even though the food and atmosphere are great! I met a friend for lunch so we had two cars. They pretended to validate our parking when they really don't validate until after 4pm (according to the parking attendant). Our parking was $12+ each and our parking attendant also said they do this all of the time. This place has so much potential but if they keep doing this they are never going to make it. They should validate parking for lunch too or at least have us pay a reasonable price like $5 and let us know up front. read more

Been here quite a few times, always recommended it to out of towners and friends. Come to find the menu has not only decreased in size by half, but has changed completely. The goat cheese Mac was phenomenal, and now there's barely a hint of goat cheese and it's melted cheddar on top. The steak was ordered medium rare, came medium well. I came into establishment tonight we were promptly seated, however we were a party of 3 that was seated at a two seater high top next to the exit. We then requested to be moved to the back bar "food preparing" area. Our waitress stated she would be back but never returned. After about 20 minutes of waiting a waiter asked if Kelly was our waitress. We told him yes and he stated he would get her. After 10 minutes of waiting we grew annoyed and decided to leave. I can highly recommend the Sazerac. Service was also great. We started with the Buffalo Shrimp which were pretty good; however, our main entree was the Steak Frites. The steak was not cooked properly (undercooked on one order, overcooked on another), and the meat was tough and full of gristle -- not what I would have expected in a $38 entree. Went there yesterday with my teenage son to wait for my niece to finish at the dentist. Was not made aware that parking could be validated but I think someone mentioned it. It is definitely a hang out place for people to have drinks after work. They will always have customers for that reason. My son ordered the pretzel bites and they were blah! The cheese that came with it was kind of burnt. I order the fish and chips and the two pieces were mostly breading with a little bit of cod buried inside. Definitely not homemade. I've been in the industry for almost 15 years and ran bars for a decade. I would hire this guy in a heartbeat, perfect technique, cordial and attentive all while dealing with the chaos. Visited during lunch with a group of coworkers. Atmosphere was very nice, eclectic. Server was nice and attentive. I ordered the lunch special burger and my co worker got the wings and she gave me half of her wings while I gave her half of my burger. The burger was good nothing special but those dry rub wings were the bomb! We both had the house salad as a side which was ok.
