This place has more potential, the atmosphere is cool, we ate in the loft area and it's a great place to hang out. We had a table of 8 booked on open table- we immediately sat down with no issues. I do think they should expand the cocktail list a little further since this is what, I feel, they do best. The food on the other hand was just ok, I expected a higher level considering the atmosphere and cocktails were excellent. We had the muscles which were tasty not fishy, the Brussels sprouts were good, I should know better not to order chicken wings anywhere outside of upstate NY. Calamari was a little tough considering its locally sourced I feel that could have been cooked better. Idk if it was battered fresh or all prepped when caught then frozen and cooked to order. Coconut shrimp were good. Lamb Chops were ok and the burgers looked a little small. Service was decent considering the entire place was full when we were there. I would try this place again if I lived in the area but probably stop for cocktails an appetizer. read more

Drinks were ok, the food was fine but not great. The service was slow despite the restaurant being dead on a Friday night. One of the other waiters who was not serving our table tried to take our order because he realized our server was taking so long. The server who was waiting our table came up right after and started bad mouthing him in front of us. And I couldn't get over the fact that they had a giant, bright TV mounted on the wall next to their tables. It was so obnoxious and unappealing; if I wanted to have dinner in front of a giant TV playing golf I could've stayed at home. On top of it they double charged me for someone else's reservation. Myself and 3 friends attended. We arrived just after 2pm. They advertised an event (The Good Time Brunch and Day Party) from 2pm-8pm, free before 4pm. When we arrived at Estella, the promoter asked if we were there for the day party. We said yes, but once he mentioned payment, I asked if we could just come in to eat instead. He told me tickets are $20, but he would let us in for $10. We paid. There was no event, no DJ. We ate, asked for the bill and asked to speak with a manager. We mentioned having to pay to get in to him and was told that we did not have to pay. He said he would speak with the promoter. The promoter refused to give us our money back. After requesting help from the waiter, the manager and the owner, we sat at that table after paying the bill for atleast 45 minutes. The DJ began playing around 3:30pm, well after we were done and ready to leave. The manager was apologetic and didn't understand why they wouldn't refund us. The waiter also said we were there well before any event took place and would let the owner know. The time is stamped on our receipt. The manager came back and said we could speak with the promoter ourselves. The owner never came to speak with us at all.  After speaking with the promoter, he told me even if he could refund me, he wouldn't, claiming I was rude, which was not the case at all. I spoke in a normal tone, expressing my concern and asked him why we were even charged in the first place. He ended up walking away from me. By the end of it all, the manager came and told us the owner offered free apps on our next visit. Who would want to go back? They didn't rectify the situation. They allowed them to charge us $40 to come into the restaurant to eat. The promoter ultimately just stole our money and dismissed us and the owner allowed it. read more

This whole place was a gaudy, tacky nightmare. If you've ever wanted to go to a club, lounge, and sports bar at the same time, this is the place for you. If you choose to dine here, be prepared to endure loud, cackling birthday parties and tables of Instagram "baddies" taking pics and blinding you with their obnoxious phone ring lights. And in case you didn't get enough of the flash photography, the wait staff will regularly bring out flashing strobe lights like it's bottle service while singing the most unenthusiastic rendition of happy birthday. I had dinner last Sunday and it was a disaster. It was a Sunday and obviously understaffed. We arrived at 5:15, were seated upstairs and 3 more tables were seated upstairs in the next 8-10 minutes. We didn't see our waitress until approximately 15 minutes. Concerned that the kitchen wouldn't be able to handle the business I expressed concern and she said she would make sure it was ok (we had a show at 7, along with others I'm sure). We ordered 3 appetizers, a salad and espresso martinis. The martinis were fantastic. We only received 2 appetizers and they were awful. While we waited for our food, the most bizarre "apology" came from our waitress; she brought us a glass of white wine (obviously opened a long time - was apparently reisling, but was devoid of fruit) and said it was to say sorry for the wait (ONE GLASS - for 2 people?!?!.... Bizarre) The coconut shrimp was all breading, the asparagus fries were flavorless. Resigned ourselves we were never getting the rest of our food and we might not get out in time if we waited for our check; we left cash on the table and left. The others tables around us wither didn't receive their full order, their wrong order or simply left. If you are short staffed (fully understand) may I recommend you take less reservations or seat less people. If you had been full we may have returned at another time, after last nights experience I would assume you have lost a number of customers. read more

I've been here twice (once for a birthday party downstairs and this week for dinner with friends in the main dining area) and the food and service are both excellent. Our group this time asked for a few modifications to our meals, and the waitstaff was so patient with us. It was Taco Tuesday so we all had some type of taco dish along with drinks and desserts, the food was great, the prices were reasonable, and there's literally nothing they could/should have done differently. Greed has taken over America! We had reservations at Estella in the hopes of celebrating our 12 year old daughter's birthday before going to see a show. We were late by 15 minutes and had called earlier so they moved our reservation and seated us promptly. That's where their service ended really. 45 minutes into this, we got our drinks after they messed up our first drink order. The drinks we ended up getting were still pretty bad but there was no point in sending them back. We did get our order of appetizers an hour after waiting. We eventually ended up canceling our dinner order and paid for what we had consumed which was sub part at best. We left hungry and a bad taste in our mouth. The server was courteous and apologized several times for the kitchen being backed up. My simple solution to this problem... if ANYONE is listening, DO NOT ACCEPT RESERVATIONS IF YOU ARE BACKED UP! Don't be greedy. You are literally in the service industry. So serve and make your customers happy. This was NOT The 12th birthday celebration we promised our daughter. This spot seemed like a good pre show dinner place - the location is great. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. It was the service that was seriously lacking from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. The food was mediocre - the sticky ribs were tough and the short rib wasn't very tender either. The way both came plated it was like a school cafeteria vs a nice restaurant. The brownie cookie sundae was good but took way too long to come out. Drinks were expensive for what your received. I don't think Estella is place i'd visit again, definitely not for dinner, maybe for a drink (although the mocktail i ordered at dinner was too syrupy) our reservation was at 9:30 and we weren't seated until 10:22. I felt bad for the hostess because she looked super stressed about the situation. The place is definitely understaffed. It took us like 10-15 mins to get waters or menus and the table seated next to us was seated before us and we somehow got water before them. The food also took about 45 mins to come out. I got the salmon and my bf the gnocchi. The gnocchi was good but the salmon was overcooked for my taste and the rice was definitely not jasmine rice (as the menu states). The music was prob the best part but it was way too loud, i could barely hear the server shouting over it. I think maybe the owner wanted a clubby vibe to the place but it's not what we were hoping to get during dinner. They also allow people to smoke and vape inside and the entire time and while to each his own, i don't enjoy any smoke smell while im trying to eat. read more

My experience was amazing. It was my first time visiting Estella and I was not disappointed. The ambiance, food , and service were exceptional. I went on a Saturday during brunch and it was amazing. Estella is one of Boston's best restaurants hands down. I've been a few times and can't recommend enough. I loved the food, ambiance and drinks so much, I had a birthday party and a group dinner here with friends. The asparagus fries, brussel sprouts are divine. The lamb chops are my favs but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, portions are also big. So many delicious cocktails to choose from but my fav is bloody orange concoction . And best of all the owner, management and staff are top notch. They are so attentive, hospitable and accommodating. You feel at home but in a beautiful palace with the gorgeous gold esthetics of the place and marble walls in the bathrooms, etc. I frequent all the best restaurants in Boston and this has easily become a top on my list. AMAZING RESTAURANT VIBES ARE GREAT AND FOOD IS EVEN BETTER. I've visited this restaurant on multiple occasion and my last two visits I had the pleasure of being served by one of the male waiters. However I will say that his people skills aren't the greatest- as he came off very passive aggressive. My party felt rushed and an attitude from the waiter. He is a great server and making sure your food is correct as well making sure you have what you need. But his people skills were not appropriate.
