We enjoy coming here for the lobster roll but recently the price has gone up. The market price in March was $45 which makes it quite an expensive lunch. You do get decent chunks of lobster though. The seasoning seems to have changed a bit. Seems to have more seasoning than prior times. It is also on their dinner menu but being a sandwich makes it seem more fitting for lunch. It is not on their Pau Hana menu, so if you're there between 3-5 pm the lobster roll is not available and there are only four small bites to choose from.
Came here on a Sunday for brunch and it was fairly busy. It can get loud especially with larger parties. The waitress was very attentive and our food came out quick. I got the honey walnut chicken and mochi waffles, which was delicious. My friend got the pan fried chicken thigh, which she said she enjoyed. It was a coconut chicken over a salad and a side of rice. For dessert, we got coconut and mango sorbet. Both was tasty and creamy! I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
I've always heard good things about the breakfast brunch here so we went here on Valentine's Day on a weekend I believe in the morning and it was pretty busy. The restaurant itself is very lovely inside and the ambience is very calming but modern and chic at the same time. The bar is beautiful with a mirrored back and the bottles everywhere that create a classy sense of the bar. The brunch was impressive and I asked myself why I haven't come here earlier! The Hawaiian Clam Chowder was a decent sized portion and not to clam like tasting. I wished there were more actual clams in the soup, but I was glad it did come with some bread. The oysters were a good size. I can't remember exactly the type of oysters, but the sauce it came with was delicious. The espresso martinis were pretty good. Although I wish that they used freshly brewed espresso from what I believe they didn't. But the breakfast bowl was the highlight of the meal for me. It's a great balance of meat and vegetables and salty and crunchy and soft textures. It really is a breakfast bowl that I would eat every day. The braised beef loco moco was also pretty good. Although the gravy could've been a little tastier, but was still delicious. I like the thin fried onion rings that came with the loco moco because it created a nice balance and added texture to the dish. I wish there were mushrooms in the loco moco lol. I would definitely come here again breakfast/brunch in the future.
We chose this location due to a friend's recommendation. We reviewed the menu online before arriving, so we knew what we wanted to order. When we got there, they gave us a lunch menu and told us they changed the menu that day. It was their first day with a new menu and hadn't updated their website yet. My heart was set on the garlic chicken and mochi waffles so I was upset cause the lunch menu wasn't my jam. However, the server informed the manager, and he was able to accommodate my request for the chicken and waffles. I was really appreciative that they were able to do that! Had a nice meal and tasty drinks.
This is now my favorite meal at this restaurant. I am a pescatarian, so I get this at least twice a week. It's so good. I highly recommend it if you like fish. The service is always great. Never really busy when I go in, typically go in around 830-900 on the weekends without a reservation. My boyfriend gets the Loco Moco (he thinks it's one of the best on the island). The restaurant is located inside Foodland, but it's a really nice, clean, aesthetically pleasing place inside My only issue is that I try to call and order ahead for a to-go order, but I can rarely get through.
We came on Mother's Day during brunch hours so the service was a bit slow as expected. The food took about 25 minutes to come out after ordering and we got the fresh catch, clam chowder, and lobster roll. The lobster roll...while it had a generous portion of lobster meat, some pieces tasted a bit..off. Like slightly stinky after taste. And too much mayo/sauce on the bottom made it feel like a soggy $45 mayonnaise sandwich. The fries and clam chowder were really good though. My water was also empty and no one came to refill it until after we asked for the check. Overall not bad but could be better
I've always wanted to try this place out and I was glad I did. We ordered the Maui Beets, Tagliatelle, and et al. Burger. The beets were just so yummy. They had a tangy sauce that was bright and lively and paired well with the earthy beets. The tagilatelle was also good, but quite small for the price. Finally, the burger was good, kind of your average burger but the fires where AMAZING, super crispy. I think this place is good but its pretty expensive for the amount of food you get.
I went here for my birthday dinner because I've heard great things about et al. They did not disappoint !! This mushroom risotto was so good I couldn't stop eating it. It has a very strong and nice flavor, adding chicken on top helped balance out the flavors nicely as well. The staff was very attentive and gave us great recommendations from the menu. Not to mention, the restaurant is SO beautiful. It has to be the nicest restaurant I have seen in a while and I love the elegant feel.
I came here after graduation with some friends, we walked in with no reservation and were able to get seated fairly quickly. However, I would say if you wanted "good" seating, I would recommend reserving a spot as we had to settle for the large shared table in the middle of the establishment, sitting between two different parties. The service was okay, nothing exceptional. We ordered: * Et Al Burger: 10/10, my friend ordered this and he said it was very good. The meat was done perfectly (medium rare) and the fries were a good pairing. * Chicken & Waffles: 10/10, my other friend ordered this and we all got to try a bite. The black sesame butter was perfection and amazing addition to the waffles and syrup. The chicken also came with like a Korean fried chicken syrup (kind of reminds me of zippys iykyk). * Short Rib Loco Moco: 8/10. I got this, it was okay, it was flavorful but the short rib / gravy flavor wasn't really appealing to me in that moment. I liked the fried onions which helped to break up the textures. * Soft-Shell Crab Benedict: 9/10. Another of my friends got this and I got to have a bite. I think this was pretty good and I liked all aspects of it (especially the side of hashbrowns hah). Our main critique was the small portion, as most people I've been that served benedict dishes would have two benedicts not just one. Overall, I would recommend this spot to others. I don't think I would personally come back though, as there weren't many items that sparked my interest (maybe besides the chicken & waffles, which I got to try already this time) and the price point/ portion don't particular draw me in.
Service was actually really good, which almost makes me feel bad for leaving a not-so-amazing review. The restaurant is located inside the Kahala Foodland Market with lots of parking, which is a big plus. It's a small, cute spot with great colors and thoughtful seating arrangements. The bar area is especially cute. My friend and I came for pau hana during happy hour, which runs daily from 2:30 to 5 p.m. We ended up ordering almost everything on the happy hour menu, as we usually do. The fries were honestly the only standout for us. You really can't go wrong with fries, and these were solid--crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The arancini didn't quite hit for me. They were a bit soggy and lacked flavor, with a slight bitter aftertaste that threw things off. The chicken was also somewhat soggy. We were expecting something closer to crispy, crunchy Korean fried chicken, so this may have just been a misunderstanding on our part, but it wasn't what we were hoping for. The sliders were decent. Simple and straightforward--nothing bad, nothing amazing. They definitely could've used some ketchup or an extra sauce for more flavor. The bone marrow was very oily, which is expected, but the texture was a little off. It felt rubbery and was harder to eat than usual. I've had marrow many times and usually love it, so this one was a bit disappointing. The grilled sourdough that came with it, though, was good. My friend ordered a cocktail (I can't remember the name), but she really enjoyed it--and it was super cute, pink, and pretty. Overall, the space is lovely and the service was attentive and kind. While the food didn't fully land for us this time, I'd still consider coming back to try other items, especially given the great service and convenient location.
Went for lunch and the food was great! This was my second time here. Last time I ordered the risotto and it was so delicious but I wanted to try something else this time. I ordered the soft shell crab egg Benedict and it was so yummy. All the flavors really went well together. It also game with an ulu and potato rostini (similar to hash browns.) While the flavors were good, it was very hard and difficult to eat. It's a pretty small restaurant, but very nice ambiance and the tables are spread out enough to where you don't feel too crowded. The service was also good and our server was able to give us good recommendations on what to order.
This is a conveniently located, lively restaurant within the Kahala market place under the freeway. It is crowded but gives you an excuse to browse in the adjacent poke and dessert sections in the market as you wait. Service is excellent and there is a full bar. They also have their own signature cocktails. There are tables as well as counter high tables in the bar. We sat at a table but the bar scene was enticing. Now the food... Maui beets were a tasty starter. The beets were crunchy and fresh and we added on arugula to complete the salad. It comes with oranges and a tangy lemon pesto dressing. Also has pistachios for texture and chèvre for a creamy funk. The braised short rib loco moco was one of the best loco interpretations I've tasted. The gravy was thick and umami and complemented the garlic rice. Also had a large piece of succulent short rib. The citrus brined pork chop was generous portioned but slightly dry. It is prepared medium well but I have trichinosis paranoia so was ok with the temperature. The apricot glaze and pomegranate reduction was flavorful. The chopped salad with chicken truffle sherry vinaigrette was average. Definitely would opt for the beet salad next time. Definitely will return and sample other drinks and dishes.
One of the best meals I have ever had in Hawaii. The flavors and thoughtfulness reminded me of some of the best farm-to-table SoCal restaurants. I went for Valentine's Day and it was a wonderful meal! We ordered the salad, a soup, the burger, a pasta and drinks. Highly recommend for special occasions or just to treat yourself! The cocktails also stood out to me, definitely worth the splurge. The service was also noticeably impressive, despite being a busy dinner rush for the occasion. This place is a hidden gem, and while I hope the word doesn't get out too fast so I can still book a table with ease....I won't gatekeep what has become a standout Oahu restaurant!
Wanted a reservation originally for 10:30am for 3, but nothing was available for our party size until 1pm.... Went to modify the reservation a couple hours later through Opentable and scored my original time of 10:30. Parking was easy and attached to Foodland. Our server ?John? (apologies if incorrect name) was very personable and gave great recommendations. Excellent customer service. Beautiful decor and great atmosphere for brunch. My go-to is the lobster roll with fries! It's one of few places that consistently serve lobster rolls, but they do charge at market price! I strayed once to try the chicken with mochi waffles and the chicken was nothing special tbh. The mochi waffles is the star of the meal with the black sesame butter and syrup! If you're into appetizers, the short rib arancini is tiny but delightful! The ahi tartare is ok, not worth it imo. The best drink here is the strawberry milk drink! We had high hopes coming in, but overall, the food didn't quite live up to the hype. The portions were generous, but most dishes fell a bit flat in flavor. What we ordered: * Braised Short Rib Loco Moco * Tagliatelle * Big Island Bone Marrow * Chocolate Macadamia Tart The braised short rib loco moco was the standout of the night as it was tender, rich, and comforting. Unfortunately, everything else missed the mark. The tagliatelle was pretty bland, the tart came out overly salty, and the bone marrow lacked depth of flavor (plus only four slices of bread for three bones felt a bit sparse). Service was fine and the restaurant itself was nice and clean, but for the price point, we expected more consistency in execution. Not a bad experience overall, but probably not one we'd rush back for. read more
This is a cute, nicely vibed place to gather for brunch. Four of my work colleagues and I met up for brunch today (Monday) for an 8:30 brunch time. This place is located in the Foodland Kahala Market (grocery store). It is small and quaint with amazing friendly and professional staff. We were quickly greeted and sat with a one-page brunch menu with a plethora of options for any pallet. Once the coffee was served (may I add that Autumn and the serving team kept refilling our cups with bottomless cups of caffeine), we were able to dive into the menu options. The mochi waffles were amazing with 4 large waffle pieces! One of the co-workers ordered them with strawberries and blueberries topped with whipped cream. Nice!!!! Two other coworkers ordered the 3-egg omelette with ulu roasti (an amazing breadfruit take on hashbrowns). Very savory and didn't disappoint. The final dish was the breakfast bowl. et al does a fabulous job in substitution options. I ordered it with tofu (instead of pork belly) and a poached egg (instead of fried). While the poached egg was over cooked, the overall dish was wonderfully assembled with carrots, avocados, tomatoes, mushrooms, charred kale and 'quinoa crunch'. Everything was amazing, and a great place for a work gathering. There was a robust cocktail menu - of which I look forward to partaking in my next visit! One last note, if you want water, you have to ask for it as it is not automatically served. Great place! Look forward to visiting it again. read more

TL;DR Fantastic brunch spot! et al. Burger = ONO 3 Egg Omelet = ONO ----- My family has very much enjoyed our two brunches here. I was deciding between a 4-star and 5-star review, so I am ultimately rounding up from 4.5-stars. During our first visit, my wife and I shared the chopped salad, and I ordered the 3 egg omelet, which was delicious. During our most recent visit, we split the mochi waffle with my daughter, and I ordered the burger. The mochi waffle was good, not great. I prefer my waffles on the crunchier side, and this one fell a little flat. I think mochi waffles in general tend to be chewier, however, so I won't knock et al. that much. The burger was awesome. The patty was juicy and delicious, and the toppings complemented the meat well. I would highly recommend the burger if you are in the mood for it. The fries were also really, really good. Amazing texture and flavor. I'd come back to et al. just to have the burger and fries again. read more
Honolulu Restaurant Week Meal #1 I've dined here a few years ago and remember it being good, not exceptional or any stand outs. My opinion hasn't changed much since then after dining in for restaurant week. 2 Dinner Prix Fixe $49 per person Appetizer Short Rib Arancini sweet peas, herb aioli, lemon zest, pecorino I've loved Aracini ever since my trip to Italy and this was delicious. The sweet pea puree added a nice addition with pieces of short rib inside. Recommend. Entrée Grilled Kona Kanpachi pak choy, sizzling chili soy broth, cilantro, garlic rice I chose the kanpachi as my entree and it had decent flavor. I enjoyed the side of garlic rice, complementing the tender fish and broth. Wish the portion was larger. & 12 oz Citrus Brined Pork Chop Brussels sprouts, pearl onion, sumac, curried apricot glaze, pomegranate reduction My partner chose the pork chop and enjoyed it. This is a more generous portion, so get this one if you're hungry for more. Tender and good flavor. Recommend. Dessert Berry Mascarpone Bar strawberry glaze, crisp meringue, basil crumble This was a bigger dessert than I thought. Usually pre fix comes with small bite as a dessert, but I actually ended up taking half home to enjoy later. Not too sweet (the best Asian compliment). I enjoyed the mascarpone cheese and berries brightened the flavors. Our service was slower, and dishes took much longer than expected. There was a small mishap with host when I checked in as well. I gave my name and then the host actually forgot about us (even though we were standing right behind her). A bit awkward but she apologized and sat us eventually. It was an overall decent experience. It was nice to try their more popular dishes for a deal with restaurant week for $49 ($67 value). read more
Happy Hour Review Modern decor with lots of natural lighting. Clean spacious comfortable room with a large bar. Great service with quality happy hour food. We had almost every item on the HH menu except for the fries. Big Hits: Bone marrow served with grilled sourdough. Very "meaty" portion with lots of marrow and the pangrattato, added a wonderful gritty cheesy, salty texture. The Sliders with mini patties from the Honolulu Meat Co. were simple but delicious. You can just tell quality ground beef when you bite into it. The jang sauce pinched hit for ketchup and added a complex funk to the dish. The Arancini stuffed with braised short ribs on a thin bath of herb aioli were addicting. Slight crisp exterior. Creamy rice interior with an umami short rib finish. Not Our Fave: The Chicken with garlic soy glaze. A bit hard exterior and chewy. Awesome service from our friendly bartender. Lots of parking in front. Happy Eating!! read more

First time at et al and had a wonderful experience . I ordered the Soft Crab Benedict and it was so onolicious that I cleaned everything off my plate. The ube iced coffee was very good too. My friend had the shitake mushroom omelet and she said it was delicious. Service here was very attentive and very contemporary inside. read more
I've been wanting to visit Et Al. for quite some time after hearing great things, and Honolulu Restaurant Week was the perfect opportunity! Located in the Kuono Marketplace across from Kahala Mall, this upscale yet cozy restaurant delivered on all fronts. We easily made brunch reservations online via OpenTable (highly recommend, as the space is on the smaller side). When we arrived, the restaurant was bustling, and we waited about 10 minutes for our table--not an issue at all since we browsed Kahala MKT. next door. The special prix fixe menu for Honolulu Restaurant Week included an appetizer (Hawaiian Clam Chowder or Little Gem Salad), an entrée (Braised Short Rib Loco Moco, Breakfast Bowl, or Garlic Chicken and Mochi Waffle), and a Berry Mascarpone Bar for dessert. We both started with the Hawaiian Clam Chowder, a rich and creamy dish featuring 'ulu (breadfruit), smoked meat, tender clams, and perfectly grilled sourdough. It was a delightful island-inspired twist on a classic chowder. For entrées, we chose the Braised Short Rib Loco Moco and the Breakfast Bowl. The loco moco was everything I wanted for brunch: tender braised short rib smothered in a flavorful gravy, served with garlic rice, a sunny-side-up egg, and crispy onions. The Breakfast Bowl was equally delicious, combining crispy pork belly, a fried egg, creamy avocado, fresh tomatoes, charred kale, miso mushrooms, and chili oil over garlic rice, with a crunchy quinoa topping. Another member of our party ordered the Hamakua Mushroom Risotto from the regular brunch menu. It was comfort in a bowl--earthy shimeji mushrooms, aromatic truffle, and nori came together in a dish that was rich and satisfying without being heavy. For dessert, we were treated to the Berry Mascarpone Bar, which was the perfect finale to an amazing meal. The creamy mascarpone base was topped with a vibrant strawberry glaze, crisp meringue, and a unique basil crumble. We also ordered a scoop of Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato. The gelato was rich, silky, and indulgent, with the perfect balance of deep cocoa flavor and nutty sweetness. To round things off, I sipped on the Melon Fresca from the cocktail menu. This refreshing drink balanced honeydew, aloe liqueur, citron vodka, and Aperol with a hint of mint and coconut water. The service was warm and efficient, and despite the restaurant being busy, everything came out perfectly timed. The ambiance was modern and stylish but still welcoming, making it a great spot for a leisurely brunch. For the quality of food and the overall experience, the prix fixe price was more than reasonable. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu! read more

Received a pretty large gift card for et al. and decided to go one day for brunch with my best friend. It's located across from Kahala Mall inside of Foodland. I never knew this was here, and I think I go to Kahala Mall one to two times a week. The place is super cute. Perfect for a date or large group. Everyone was so nice, our server was so kind and patient with us, cause all we wanted to do was chit chat and kept forgetting to look at the menu. We wanted to order everything, but there was only two of us. So we decided on one item per category! Note to self, we are going to come back with more humans so we can order more! Everything we had was so amazing and every bite was perfection! Even the drink was so cute with a little heart garnish! Can't wait to come back and try more! read more

Mushroom risotto portion was TINY for over $20. The lobster roll was decent but the menu said it came with melted butter and we didn't receive any. We love to support local businesses but there was more than one "miss" with our take out order. Don't think we'll be coming back again. read more
Came here for Restaurant Week. The menu looked too good to resist!! For starters, I had the Hawaiian Clam Chowder. It had three clams still in their shells on top. Fancy! lol. The chowder had lots of clams and was substantial, creamy, and delicious. I had the Breakfast Bowl and my DH had the Braised Short Rib Loco Moco. The bowl was like bibimbap and had so many flavors! They all worked really well together, except the avocado. That didn't match the bowl, but I love avocado anyway. I also loved the bit of crunch from the quinoa crunch; it was great texture. The Loco Moco was really good too. The meat was tender and the gravy was rich. The crispy onions gave good texture and flavor as well. For dessert, we had the Berry Marscapone Bar. It was so yummy and fresh! My DH particularly thought it was perfectly balanced with some salty to go with the sweet. I imagine that was the basil crumble? I would recommend coming here and having the Restaurant Week course menu! Even though is more than I'd normally order/eat, it was a good way to try a few things and a pretty good deal! read more

I enjoyed an evening meal here and it is a place one can dress up or down if they like. It is a sleek, open, "mainland design" with Hawaiian touches. I adore the bar chairs with their beautiful drawings of leis. This evenings service overall is relaxed and unhurried. Somehow, our sweet server would disappear for a long time, busy with something. Other servers were bringing us our dishes. A good place to take visitors or date night. It's located right next to FOODLAND FARMS. read more
We had a wonderful celebratory dinner here at et al. It was our first time here and the restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings and nice decor. They sort of share the store-front with foodland, but they are their own restaurant so you don't even remotely feel like you're eating in a supermarket. We got a chopped salad, brined pork chops, a kids cheese pizza, and a braised short rib loco moco. Everything was perfect! Service was excellent as well. Desserts were also fantastic! The kids pizza came with a side of dessert and it was massive!! We really enjoyed everything We will definitely be back here! read more

This is my go to place for mushroom risotto!! Service is always attentive and nice. Every single time I've come here which is about 20+. The restaurant is inside foodland Kahala and there's always a place to sit as they have a large bar area, shared high table, and table seating. My girlfriend and I felt lazy and ordered delivery from Et Al. We got the Risotto, the pesto pizza and the garlic chicken. I don't normally complain about portion size but what the hell is up with the garlic chicken? I opened up the container and felt so disappointed in seeing 2 okay-ish size and 2 manini size bites. The garlic chicken here is like a Zippys Korean chicken wannabe. Btw, it tastes the same, save your money and go to zippys instead folks. You'll get more chicken on your plate there. The mushroom risotto and the pesto pizza were good, nothing special though. Each was the size of a Keiki meal. read more
We had a great girls brunch here. The service was good and we got some great recommendations from our waiter. I had the burger (I didn't get a picture before I cut it) and it was good. The pizza was really good too. Our table had it to share and it was a good start to the meal. The banana bread pudding was delicious I would definitely get that again. The ambiance was nice even though it was next to the supermarket it still felt like a nice restaurant. Lots of the other tables looked like they were celebrating something so I would recommend a reservation. If you want a cute place to have a girls day, celebration, or a date night this seems like a good place to do it without going too crazy. I would say about mid tier in pricing with most entrees being around $18-$22. I would definitely go again. read more

The food is DELICIOUS, the service is AMAZING, and the ambiance is BEAUTIFUL. My husband and I stumbled upon this place for brunch and we are so glad we did. The coffee and cappuccino were so fresh and delicious. The clam chowder and bread were amazing. I got the risotto with shrimp, my husband got the burger, we were so sad that we couldnt finish everything in that one sitting, but we are excited to eat the left overs tonight lol Wayne was our waiter and he made the experience even better. Located inside Foodland in the Kahala shopping center is an unpretentious food spot that has a casual vibe. The parking lot around lunchtime was bad however. So be forewarned. The food was good. The beet salad was tasty and fresh but nit special. The highlight was their mushroom risotto...absolutely divine! So creamy with wonderful complex mushroom flavors and garnished with more mushrooms. The galette was not a galette but a puff pastry with apple filling in a lilikoi sauce and a side of vanilla ice cream. Also good, especially with some coffee to balance out the sweetness. read more

Damn, their Loco Moco was the best Loco Moco I've had in a long time. I'm not a huge fan of gravy, so I rarely order Loco Moco, but I wanted a rice dish so I ordered et al's. When I order a dish at a restaurant, I rarely ever think that all the stuffs that are put together in a dish complement each other perfectly, but their Loco Moco absolutely did. Love this space. It is calming, takes you out of the hustle and bustle of your day and allows you to relax while enjoying a good lunch. Unexpected for a spot in a market! Service is attentive, quick and kind. I have not had a bad server once. They make you feel wanted, welcomed, and appreciated. Came here for breakfast they have a variety of local sourced greens, ingredients, fresh fruit, and vegetables, and proteins. Breakfast and brunch menu vary from Chia parfait, oysters on the half shell, salads, local favorites, such as short rib, Loco moco, smoked clam chowder with ulu and sourdough toast, Salads, avocado, toast, and traditional egg, breakfast or omelette breakfast. They also had a special of softshell crab eggs, Benedict; but they were out. We shared the roasted beet salad, which was delicious, the smoked clam chowder with sourdough, which was also delicious, fresh oysters was delicious, and mochi waffles with fresh fruit that was fresh and delicious. Hubby had the traditional Scrambled egg, bacon and toast breakfast. Services attentive, and this restaurant also serves a great lunch and dinner where we have been here before. They are in the Kahala market off to the right side of the market. Space is a little cramped. Ambience is tight, but we sat at the bar. Bar is full service from wine, beer, Cocktails Local mimosas. Had our Friendsgiving at et al, and it was my first time there. The atmosphere and aesthetics were really nice. The restaurant is actually inside the Kahala Foodland, which was a cool surprise. THERE ARE NO WORDS for how good this meal was. We used to come all the time for brunch but moved a bit further away and hadn't been back. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! Dinner here is so, so special. We came for our anniversary on Monday night, it was easy to get a reservation and an accommodating table. My drink (matcha whey) was DELICIOUS, and the oysters were perfection. By far the best oysters I've had on island in years- perfect size + brine, they were gorgeous and so clean. The tako appetizer was incredible as well. We also ordered the tagliatelle and lobster roll, which were amazing, but drinks + apps were my favorite of the whole night. One of my favorite meals while we were in Oahu. Near the end of our visit, we were feeling kind of tired of poke and, after wandering around this super fancy Foodland, saw the entrance for et al. Cue the one sit-down restaurant meal we had! Oysters: so plump and juicy. Though not enormous, they were a good size and, yeah, plump is a good way to describe. I could have eaten about six more of them. Perhaps the best oysters I've ever had. Will be thinking of these for awhile. 10/10 Chopped salad: this was the first green vegetable I had consumed in days. The fish I added on the size was a little puny and over-cooked but the rest of the salad (which seemed to be your classic Cobb, with bacon, egg, and avocado) was very fresh. 8/10 Burger: Glad I split this with my husband. Added avocado and a soft egg and it was a monster to try to unhinge my jaw to eat. Loved the truffle fries on the side. Would definitely order the burger again. 9/10 Our waiter, Nolan, was so nice/on top of things/checking in often. The issues other reviewers have cited about food taking a long time didn't materialize with us. Lots of parking spots on a weekday evening. Just a note that their restroom is outside of Foodland and you need a code to access. read more

It's one of those restaurants that i will never turn down, because their food, ambiance and service are just so amazing. as much as i love their lunch and dinner menus, i'm a sucker for all things brunch and this is one of my favorite places to enjoy it We got their short rib arancini, mochi waffles and breakfast bowl which were all so phenomenal. the breakfast bowl is so hefty with a variety of textures and flavors and it reminds me of my favorite hot stone bibimbap dish at korean restaurants with the charred rice bits. the short rib arancini changes often but i loved the unique flavors of this one, and this mochi waffle was so good especially with the blueberry yuzu compote, and the berry add on was so worth it too There's lots of shared parking in Kuono Marketplace and i highly recommend making reservation because it's always crowded, and we almost didn't get a seat when we tried to walk-in too read more
Family Date Night! So that was hubs, baby and me. We had a gift card so was hoping it would cover everything, but the way i order it did not. I always like the vibe there...it's chill. First time the music was actually a little loud...or maybe just noticed it? Not like no-can-talk-stories kine loud, just noticeable. Started with drinks and some pupu, ordered din as quick as possible since baby was hungry. - Marrow - we have slaughtered cows and roasted our own marrow. I'm pretty sure restaurants take a little off before serving or else their cows are in desperate need of vitamins. Not much marrow in these bones. But still pretty good. Needs a little bowl of salt to sprinkle. Comes with little bread triangles. Some were a little too koge even for me...baby did not like those. She pounded the rest though. Think with some that feels oily doesn't need bread that's covered in oil. Was a little much. But still a decent dish. - Arancini - loooooove those. Didn't realize it was sitting on some chili sauce. Think that helps elevate it, but baby not a fan of the spice! Whoops. - Hubs had the lamb. He liked it. I don't do lamb. - I had the pork chop, without the sauce. Cooked perfectly. Without sauce it needs some salt. With the sauce is probably tasty, but waitress did say it's sweet so I wouldn't have liked it. But love a good pork chop. This is a part of the fancy Foodland marketplace in Kahala. Of course it's fancy... it's Kahala! We had reservations but they were behind. They asked if we wanted to sit at the high barstools after 10 minutes. We were seated a few minutes after sitting down. The place is very nice, swank, and clean. The staff are really nice. The food was good and meh. My wife got the lobster roll. I got the braised short rib loco moco. The loco moco part was good. The eggs were great quality. The braised short rib seemed it was more pot roast cooked in a crock pot with little seasoning. The meat was bland. I was really hungry and luckily, my wife finished only half of her lobster roll. She let me finish it off. I have to say I will eat that if we go back. We aren't in Kahala much but this is an option if we might be in the area. read more
