The branzino was good not great and pricey but the most insulting was the bubbling shrimp. The sauce was actually delicious. But there were about 3 shrimp in there. The sauce on the grilled oysters was one of the better sauces I have had but overall this was just not a good bang for your buck. Very well decorated, but thats where it ends. Staff was attentive and helpful, but the food was very disappointing. We ordered their special pizza with Jambon and Dates.... Barely any "Jambon" and dates were minimal at best, Toppings were almost non existent. Dry overcooked pizza. Also ordered the beet salad and it was enjoyable. Lets see.. The portions are small, and the taste is bland. The seating is uncomfortable, and the lighting is dim, making it difficult to see the food. The food is extraordinary. Bite for bite. The spice level is medium including a very spicy pizza. Many items best shared including the pizza as 6 slices and 1 each is plenty. We loved the fresh open look and youthful vibe. We had the bubbling shrimp and meatballs. Both intense in flavor paired with soft nan or charred bread. The pastas fresh. The desserts were high impact. Surprisingly the chocolate cake not as tasty but the toffee cake was wow! I gave it a 5/5 bc food was so memorable and solid but the noise level is concert level loud. Cannot talk and in the long run I need a day of pure silence bc of the sheer volume in the restaurant. Way to loud music. I get that it's a youthful vibe with energetic charged dining but you can't think for the club like music over powering dinner. Finally the wait staff were attendant but really seemed rushed to clear table to the point of seeming like they must not have enough plates back there and need them desperately. Disappointed to be writing a 3 star review for this place. I heard so much about it. Our hostess from the start wasn't very kind, barely smiling. She did get a tiny bit nicer as the evening went by but first impressions were not great here. Also strange to me they charge so much for valet and don't validate your ticket whereas places like North Italia and Buck and rider and other wonderful restaurants will comp your valet for dining, just make sure you tip the valet. The food to me was OK. Wasn't impressed with the pepperoni pizza but I did enjoy the meatballs and Brussels sprouts. The part that frustrated me the absolute most was on our tab was an "employee benefits" charge . Are you kidding me? You can't pay and give your employee benefits so you charge your customers to help out with that? I am all for tipping and gratuity but that's absolutely absurd to me and ridiculous. Disappointing Went for lunch earlier today. While the old Brio is a very pretty place as etta, it's not enough. Plenty of staff but not where it needs to be. Even a good assortment of management or at least people w earbuds and microphones but hard to flag down On a Saturday they serve Brunch. Choices were odd imho - 5 pizza options to choose from but no (boring perhaps?) eggs Benedict, or fruit entree or burger option. Salads offered but no option to add protein. I ordered the breakfast sandwich. Good except they failed to mention anything on the menu about the inclusion of a spicy aioli on the bun. My Brunch partner had the kale salad which was ok, but a peanut salad dressing failed to mention spicy (again) Oh and the place is crazy loud. Loud music. I mean so loud the very pleasant sever couldn't hear us (and I'm told I'm loud in general), and we couldn't hear her. Lunch was $37 before tip. No drinks, no dessert. Btw, Valet outside the restaurant is $11. Seems a bit pricey unless you're making a day of it at the Quarter and don't want to take advantage of the free garage parking. Because of the blasting, vulgar, explicit, trashy music playing extremely loud, my family could not enjoy what would have been a delicious dinner. I had to take my kids outside because the music was so inappropriate. I don't understand how a classy restaurant with a modern farmhouse organic aesthetic would taint their business by providing their guests with club style ghetto rap. Literally ghetto rap loud enough that our table was vibrating and we could not even converse. Totally inappropriate and not family friendly. Oh and we dined at 8pm on a Tuesday. Update to manager response: "Lively and upbeat" music is acceptable in that setting. Explicit rap talking about sex and perversion, killing, and terrible language is not appropriate for any restaurant to be blasting. Etta is not a trashy club or a night club. Today was my first time back to Etta since they reopened and I was very disappointed. Before the remodel, Etta was one of my favorite restaurants, I wish I could say it still was. The entire menu is different. I was devastated when I saw the Cacio e Pepe was no longer on the menu. The focaccia was such a let down from the old signature focaccia. I will say the ricotta pillows were incredible but everything else was disappointing. The music was also loud and the menu is way more expensive than it used to be. It's on the pricey side, so be prepared to drop a few dollars. The focaccia was my favorite - freshly baked and so flavorful. Our server gave us a heads up that the bar was pretty backed up, and it did take quite a long time for our drinks to come out. Also, our server was gone for a really long time after we got our entrees. I was planning on ordering dessert, but by the time he finally checked on us we had long since finished our entrees and were ready to head home. I know they just opened so I don't want to judge too harshly hit there were some things that were not so great. I came here with my mom, dad, and my husband to celebrate an early Mother's Day. My dad and I got iced teas to start, I got green he got black. My green tea was really good! We also shared focaccia to start, it did seem like not much bread for $8, but that's ok! For my meal I got avocado toast. It was very tasty but not $17 good. My mom got fish which was good. They forgot to put my dads order in, the asked to double check what he had ordered, still brought out a totally different meal and asked if he wanted to keep it (he doesn't like fried chicken so he said no). He got his breakfast sandwich and said there was stuff on it he didn't see on the menu. We were pretty much done eating by the time he actually got it. My husband got a margarita pizza and there were a lot of tiny onion bits on it. I tried some bites and it was ok. Just was kinda bland and the cheese was like crispy. Also they asked my dad if he wanted a tea refill and confirmed it was black tea, and still came back with a green tea. Also they didn't come by to check on us very much, my water cup was empty for the majority of the time. Overall, half of us enjoyed our food. We loved everything single item we tried! We stared with the shrimp appetizer and one of their pasta dishes. Both had complex flavors. The shrimp dish not only had individual shrimp, but had a shrimp dip or purée to dip your pita in. Amazing! We decided to also order the gem salad and the focaccia. The focaccia stole the show! No follow up from anyone while I waited for new food, only "it's our first brunch". If your business isn't ready to roll out a new menu then don't. Truthfully customers don't care and don't wanna be your guinea pig for a below average 100$ lunch. What gives with the 3.5% employee benefit? Went to a family brunch here. They tell you that the approach is to share plates around the table--but then they take the small plates away. Then they tell you that all the food orders will be taken at the same time, and the food will come out "as it's ready." One dish was served very quickly, but the other four dishes came out over the next fifteen minutes. That seems like a long time. The food was tasty, but the bacon was rubbery rather than crisp and the toast was cold and although the menu said it was buttered, it tasted like dry grilled toast. They were very good at noticing when someone left the table, folding their napkin and putting it on the table at their place...but no one came to see if we needed our drinks refreshed, and one of us went over to the bar to ask that they be given another drink. They've only been open six weeks, so hopefully it gets better. read more

Where to start? The service was fantastic! V was our server and she was attentive knowledgeable and gracious. Now onto the food. Everything was perfect. Beet salad impeccable (I could eat it everyday), bubbling shrimp was such a wonderful interpretation on a often boring appetizer Bravo! So, my man and I walk in and go to the host stand. We ask can we be seated at the bar or near the bar, they then sit us at a 2 top near the bar. My man asked to be seated at a high top in the actual bar area. The hostess said "if you all do not mind waiting I can have someone clean it for you. I then saw her in the bar area and asked her can we have that two to cleared she goes "I said ill have someone clear that" at this point I walked away....two men came walking to the table that we were waiting for and it was instantly cleared?! Then the drinks came they were good, we ordered the focaccia bread 8/10 and their Oysters they were cooked which was a surprise and spicy and very small 6/10, I also ordered a bubbling shrimp that NEVER CAME. To salt or not to salt, that is the question. We came tonight for dinner, and overall the dinner was terrible. We had high expectations given Chef Grant's reputation but it fell short in the food. +- focaccia, bubbling shrimp Negatives/misses- kale salad, pillows of "love", bucatini, and the ambiance Kale salad was overly salty to the point of being inedible, like eating a salt lick. The bucatini was bland and flavorless. Tbh, Trader Joe's cacio e Pepe is thousands of times better. And the pillows of love were pillows of bland mush. Nothing like the dish at Maple and Ash. The service was mediocre too. I think the waitress only touched our table once and that was when she asked if we wanted dessert. Also, they had a group that was yelling and screaming that killed the experience. I would pass and go to Tratto or even Fat Ox for now. The menu is a little different than the one in Los Angeles, but everything was just as delicious! Bradley was our server and made our night unforgettable with THE BEST service I have ever had at a restaurant. Was really looking forward to trying this place. Went there on a Saturday night with my boyfriend for date night. Made a reservation a week prior for 8pm. When we arrived at 7:58 our table wasn't ready yet (totally fine since we were a little early), but ended up waiting for 20 minutes to be seated. Slightly annoying since I made a reservation. As for ambiance and service : interior is really cute, bright, and clean. The music on the other hand is so loud we couldn't hear each other speak (this seems to be an ongoing trend in Scottsdale recently - the staff turns the music up super loud but forgets part of the reason people go out to eat is to have a conversation). The people next to us asked TWICE to turn the music down and the server was visibly annoyed. Our server also took 25 minutes to take our order we almost wondered if she forgot about us. I flagged her down at one point and she said "one minute".... It was another 5 minutes until she came over. Food was ok. Not worth the price in my opinion. Came to Etta for dinner on a Thursday night. It was pretty busy initially. The vibe of the place is cool. I like the decor, the open kitchen, and the music playing was good. We drank Etta-Rita's and they were delicious. The three stars is mostly related to the poor service. We started with the focaccia bread. Our server dropped it off and didn't tell us what to do with it. You have to turn it upside down to pull it apart, and it comes with some salty, honey butter that you have to stir up before putting on the bread. Thankfully another server must have noticed she didn't show us, so he came over and explained the process. The carpaccio was ok, honestly could have used some salt or something for flavor. I got the little gem salad. It was delicious! And my main entree was the bucatini and it didn't disappoint. My date got the oxtail cappelletti. It was ok imo. Not sure if I'll go back. A friend of mine said the mushroom pizza is worth it. Hopefully that was just an off night for that particular server. read more
