Eureka! at Westfield UTC is exactly where you want to be if you're looking for a meal with a great vibe. The ambiance is incredibly lively and energetic, making it the perfect spot for a weekend lunch or a fun dinner out. The aesthetic is sharp and modern, and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful, always making the experience smooth even when it's bustling. We kept the energy going with a blueberry crunch drink and a lychee martini--both were refreshing and expertly mixed. For our mains, we shared the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the Napa Chicken Sandwich, both of which were delicious, along with a side of both regular and sweet potato fries. Everything arrived fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. If you want a place that nails both the atmosphere and the menu, this is definitely it.

Came for a weekday happy hour and ordered the wings, carrot cake, and truffle fries. The wings were good but there were only 3 wings which is a pretty small portion even for a happy hour item. Truffle fries were solid and the carrot cake was very good. I usually just order a burger and fries and beer at Eureka so it was nice to change it up and try their sides and desserts menus. Service was solid - not spectacular and the ambience was calm and clean.

I've actually never eaten at Eureka before and after trying some of their Brussels Sprouts at a Yelp event and really liking them, we decided to dine-in for dinner. They're located in UTC and parking is free for just the first hour. Crispy Glazed Brussels Sprouts: I thought the sauce was pretty great but some of the pieces didn't taste like it was fully cooked through. Like the edges were crispy but the thicker pieces were hard. Also, the serving size is so small, I can't imagine sharing this with more than one person. Double Smash: Flavor-wise, not bad. But if you're expecting a smash burger, you'll be disappointed. Patties weren't thin and the edges weren't crispy...just little details I've started expecting after eating some really good smash burgers elsewhere. The tots were really crispy though! Overall, the food was pretty average and I wasn't too impressed. But I can see how this place would be great if you're interested in Happy Hour or just drinking beers.

After a few hours of shopping, we were getting tired and hungry, so we decided to try Euteka. It was quite loud because of the World Cup game, but we didn't mind, it actually made the experience more fun and lively. The food was great. I had the Brussels sprouts with added steak, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors worked really well together, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a great place to relax, enjoy a meal, and soak in the game-day atmosphere. We would definitely come back again.

Wow what a little gem. This is inside the UTC mall right by the PopMart and Cotton On! We came for their happy hour because we love a deal! First all the staff were amazing and managers checked on us and walked the floor which I love to see. I loved the decor and vibe in here too. We got the brussel sprouts, fried pickles, eureka burger, and turtle pie. I have lots of thoughts so I'll go individually. Brussel Sprouts: phenomenal! This may be our favorite brussel sprouts we have ever had. Unique flavors and a great cook! Fried pickles: excellent!! I can see why it's a fan favorite. Eureka burger: the flavor and cook on the patty was so good, I can't remember the last time I had a burger this great. Turtle pie: good and lighter then expected with house made whipped cream so light and delicate. I honestly can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Our daughter is visiting us for a week of vacation, so my wife and I thought visiting a local mall to do some shopping and have a nice family dinner would be a fun excursion. After work, I met my two favorite ladies, but we weren't sure what we were having for dinner, so we stopped at a few stores and did a little shopping. We knew there were a litany of delicious restaurants to choose from and while we were walking, we came upon Eureka. This was my second time eating at a Eureka restaurant, but the very first time for my ladies. For my 600th Yelp review, Eureka serves quality and tasty food, but I don't think they give you value for your money. Also, our waitress needed to check up on us more often than she did. Eureka has three locations throughout San Diego. I've eaten at the San Diego State restaurant, there's a location in Carlsbad, and the one we dined can be found at the University Town Center (UTC) La Jolla shopping mall. The mall is located on La Jolla Village Drive and I'd say UTC is arguably the best shopping center in San Diego. Parking is free for one hour, but a nominal fee after that first hour. There is plenty of parking at UTC. Eureka is near Macy's; next to Marugame Udon; and across from Parfait Paris, 85C, American Eagle Outfitters, and Cotton On. The wooden exterior, wood throughout the interior, decorative light fixtures, hung photos of surfers, and a slew of televisions made for a cool place to hang out. It's a spacious restaurant with table/chair seating, bartop seating, covered patio seating, outdoor umbrella seating, and booth seating. Our young half Asian waitress was friendly, but she needed to check on how we were doing more often because I waited a little while before I could ask for a drink refill. While walking around UTC trying to find a place to eat dinner, we stumbled upon Eureka and perused their menu conveniently posted next to their main entrance. Looking at their menu, I noticed that burgers were a prominent part of their menu. Besides burgers, they also serve appetizers, salads, sandwiches, sides, and they have an extensive adult beverage list. We also visited during their Happy Hour, which is something I'd like to try next time. We dined at Eureka on a Wednesday, which has a Wednesday only special of Double Smash Burger & Fries for $9. We started our dinner by ordering the following appetizers: mac n' cheese balls and fried pickles. The mac n' cheese balls are made with beer cheese sauce, Fresno chiles, chives, and parmesan with ranch for dipping. They were golden brown, fried perfectly, and really tasty. The fried pickles are buttermilk-battered dill pickles and come with a garlic dijonnaise for dipping. The pickles were fried perfectly and were yummy. For what we paid for the two appetizers, I didn't think you got value for your money. For my entree, I ordered jalapeño egg signature burger, which comes with a fried egg, cheddar, bacon, chipotle sauce, pickled jalapeños, encompassed by a buttery brioche bun, and it comes with signature fries. The burger was juicy, the medley of components made it delicious, and the fries were tasty too. Just like the appetizers, I didn't think we got bang for our buck. On their menu, there's no mention of the size of the patty and you're not given too many fries. 3.5 stars. Blessed that I got to spend quality time with my fave ladies. Although I thought the food was quality and tasty, I wished we got more value for our money.

First timer! My friend and I stopped in here for dinner after work a couple of nights ago. I wasn't aware that it was inside the mall when I looked up the address. It's easy to find, but I don't think I would go out of my way to come back just because it is inside the mall. However, I would definitely come in if I was hungry after shopping, if that makes sense. That being said, The staff was very nice and provided excellent service and recommendations throughout the meal. The fried pickles were pretty good!! The tomato was a little chunky on my grilled cheese but other than that, pretty good!!

Went here for happy hour which is super worth it! Love that they have late night happy hour so I can wind down after a long day. The only downside is I feel usually takes a while for their food to come out so the wait feels long but the food is good! They had the baseball game playing so it was keeping us busy while we waited.

Great spot to grab a drink, catch up with friends and watch football games at the UTC mall! The staff is very friendly and attentive. They have good happy hour specials. I enjoy their old fashions and mac n cheese balls! Parking can be difficult in the mall so plan ahead.

Amazing vibe! Great for groups! Marissa the server was such a great person, she was so bubbly and attentive; plus gave us such great service! If anyone has Marissa you're in for a good time, and such a respectful server!!!!

EUREKA @ UTC LA JOLLA Parking is available for free in any of the garages, free for the first two hours, then an additional $3 per hour after that. I parked next to Corner Bakery, which is one of my favorite areas since there's usually plenty of parking. I came on a Wednesday and it was pretty packed. Eureka is one of my favorite restaurants, so I made a reservation about two weeks in advance. My party and I arrived a bit early, and since we were friendly and flexible, the staff was super accommodating and seated us right away. We started with the lettuce wraps as an appetizer. While I didn't love them because the chicken sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, they were still pretty good, and sharing them was nice since the lettuce pieces had plenty of chicken. For my entrée, I ordered the poke stack appetizer, which honestly could pass as a full meal. It was super filling and very fresh, and I loved the avocado and black rice. We also tried the Fresno fig burger with goat cheese, which was delicious, Eureka is definitely known for their burgers. Another friend ordered the kale salad, which was light, fresh, and nicely balanced with a vinegar-based dressing. I also love their happy hour since they have great deals. The ambiance is great, it feels like a relaxed sports bar but still offers a nice dining experience, especially with the outdoor patio. Even though it was busy, the service was decent and our server was really nice. I'd definitely recommend Eureka if you're looking for a solid place to eat.

Great venue for HH or to grab a burger. Food: I asked the bartender for recommendations and she suggested chimichurri so I went with it. It was a workout... extremely chewy and not much chimichurri sauce. Should've sent it back. The best part was the side salad. Wouldn't order it again as I'm still hungry. Stick with the burgers. 2 outta 5 Drinks: Beer selection is decent. Duck foot was a solid pick. 5 outta 5 Service: good service. Attentive & friendly. 4 outta 5

They sent my DoorDash order with rotten pieces of avocado. The arugula salad was just dumped over a hamburger in the same box.

The ravioli was the standout of the night, thin pasta with just enough filling for a delightful bite. The bucatini all'amatriciana wasn't quite what I'm accustomed to, the guanciale was ground rather than diced, and the sauce leaned more toward a meat sauce with an oily finish, not really my style, though the pasta itself was cooked well al dente. The steak, on the other hand, was excellent. Cocktails were great, and the staff were attentive throughout. For dessert, the trio was a nice way to sample a few things, though I wish they offered smaller sampler portions instead of full-size pieces. The Basque cheesecake was excellent and the semifreddo was perfect with a nice crust. The chocolate torte was good but couldn't compete with the other two. Overall a strong dinner spot in La Jolla, especially for pasta lovers and sunset views.

We called an hour ahead to reserve a table and luckily they had availability. We ordered the crudo and octopus as appetizers. The crudo was served with fresh tuna topped with a sweet melon sauce (not to my liking, but still appreciated). The octopus was delicious. For our entrees, we ordered the pistachio pesto pizza, raviolli, and beef ziti. The pizza was my favorite (i love anything pistachio) especially enjoyed the pistachio pesto. I appreciate the thin dough of raviolli and the ziti was good. Overall food was good. Our server's name was Kevin, he was friendly and gave great service.

Freaking religious experience…read more You'll want to set aside a couple hours for dinner at Duke's. Not because it's outdoors and has a great vibe, and helpful, friendly servers, which make you want to stay there for hours with your family, friends, or coworkers--although all of that is true. Not because it has a gorgeous view of the Pacific--which it does. Not even because of their piña coladas! No, my friend. It's because their sautéed Mac nut & herb-crusted fresh fish with mac salad is just *so good* but if you have any reverence for all that is good and true in this world, you'll have to stop every few bites, let your eyes roll back into your head a little, and enjoy it. It's just... slow. Now. First things first. Mac nut, mac salad. One is Macadamia nuts; one is macaroni. Hopefully my team member who raved about the mac salad does not read this and realize that I thought it was a salad of Macadamia nuts. I was like OK, that sounds weird, but I do love Macadamia nuts, so let's try it. She was right to rave. It was *delicious*. In fact, I think the fish and the salad kind of ran together a bit and made each other even more delicious. Look, I'm not sure how it worked, I just know it worked. Apparently for the dinner menu it only shows rice with the fish; ignore that. Just ask them to swap it out. Speaking of lunch, I did also have lunch at Duke's once. Got fish and chips. And let me tell you, the weirdest thing: Their *tartar sauce* was off the charts. I know. Who nails the tartar sauce? But it had this perfect zing to it, as though they got an idea from the usual malt vinegar and mixed it all in there. Given the quality of what I've had do far, you probably can't go wrong at Duke's. Get a reservation, ask for an ocean view--and give yourself plenty of time.
