But here's the issue--when we first went about two years ago, they did a great job accommodating my gluten allergy. Since then, every time we've ordered through DoorDash and called to confirm no bacon or gluten, we still end up with both in our order, which means we can't eat it. I decided to give it another shot and went in person a few days ago. I made it super clear to the waiter--three times--that I have allergies and don't eat bacon. But my fig burger still came with bacon, so I had to send it back. Then my salad showed up with croutons right in the middle. My gluten-free request isn't just a preference; it's a serious allergy. So yeah, I'm 100% done with this place. It's pretty clear that special requests aren't taken seriously, whether in person or via delivery. Honestly, it's a shame because the food is really good, and I'm sad I won't be coming back--but my health comes first. Eureka is a great restaurant in U Village. We were with our dog and was glad that they were dog-friendly. They have a great patio and were even nice enough to bring Barney some water. This is typical pub-type food with a few twists. They have a great beer menu, both regular beers and some rotating ones. I had an excellent Hefeweizen (they offer most in a couple of sizes). Service was really excellent, very attentive and the food came out pretty fast. I had the Barbecue bacon burger with fries. This was delicious, the burger was cooked perfect, the sauce was awesome, and it was a generous portion of bacon on top. The fries were perfect as well. My wife had the mahi mahi fish tacos. She loved her meal as well, she said the fish was perfect. We will definitely be back (probably with Barney). read more

My friends and I stopped by Eureka for a quick bite at around 7:30pm before heading to a tennis match. Service was great. We were seated promptly upon arrival and our waiter was very friendly. We also got our food and bill in a timely manner. I ordered the FISH TACOS (+$17) and my friend ordered the NACHOS (+$14). The FISH TACOS came as a set of three tacos and a side of verde salsa and limes. They were topped with pineapple, onion, and cilantro. Although this was listed under the entree section, if I were hungrier and not looking just for a light bite before my match, this would not have filled me up. While the fish was tasty, there was very little of it and no sides of beans or rice. For $17 (almost $6 a taco!), I expected way more. This was barely an appetizer in my opinion. My friend was happy with her NACHOS which was much bigger (it's listed under the Shareables section) and came much more loaded than my dish. It had cheese, pork, onions, and more. She split it with our other friend, which was plenty for the two of them. Atmosphere is casual and vibey. They have a large selection of drinks and beer on tap. TLDR, save your money on the tacos (El Camion has tacos for $4 each and are much more filling) or get a shareable for the same price as most of their entrees. Now we have tried this restaurant twice ....the first time they gave us gift cards because the food was not edible. This location is tucked right into the heart of UVillage, and I appreciated that we were able to walk in for lunch at 2PM with a party of 10 and get seated immediately. They have larger tables that are a bit more tucked away, as well as a nice outdoor patio.The waiters were very patient and were able to bill each seat for their own meal, which was really helpful for splitting checks. I liked the Veggie Beet burger -- I really appreciate whenever vegetarian burgers just lean into the veggies rather than trying to imitate meat. The beet and kidney beans were a unique flavor and I highly recommend adding goat cheese too! I wish that there was an easy way to sub in this vegetarian patty to some of the other burgers, which would really increase the number of options. There are a lot of really yummy items on the menu, that burger list is epic, the salads are fresh and filling - lots of really flavorful and savory combinations, but they're not all winners (that truffle corn has got to go). Ask your server for what's good, and trust them. We trusted Stephen to guide us through this menu, and he took excellent care of us - quick, attentive, and simply damn good at his job. This is one of my favorite stops in the University Village mall. I have an unhealthy obsession with their spicy fried chicken sandwich and a slightly more healthy obsession with their seared ahi salad. The patio here is nice sized and covered/enclosed with movable siding-- so it's great on a nice day or on those transitional weather days. The inside is great too. This is a wonderful stop for watching a game, beer and whiskey enthusiasts, a quick happy hour bite, or any number of fun and casual occasions. This is a trendy & hip spot nestled inside u-village. I went here with a party of 7 on a Thursday for my birthday! I called and made a reservation for 5:30pm - I saw they only take up to 6 but they took 7 no problem (one of our guests was a baby). They run a daily "hoppy hour" from 3-6pm with various discounted appetizers, entrees and drinks. We ordered spinach & artichoke dip ($8), mac & cheese balls ($7) and a few eureka burgers ($12) -- all were very tasty. Main dishes we ordered were the steak salad, fish and chips, and jalapeno burger. My girlfriend loved the fish; the sauce they paired it with (spicy mustard maybe?) was excellent. I enjoyed the burger but I felt the portion size was small for the price ($18). That's where they lose a star (value). Alex, our server was attentive and personable - traits which I believe extend throughout the entire staff here. Everyone I spoke to or interacted with was great!
