Started the night off with my table for 7 on a Friday night. Got all dolled up and was ready to hit the bar. My friend was not. So we settled for Eureka! Walked in and was surprised to get a table. My server Emilee told us about their amazing new fried pickle chips! Eureka! and their spicy strawberry marg (hard pass- hubby decided to go for the Moscow Mule). My first experience was at their store in Berkeley and it was kin of meh. After going, I just knew that I didn't want to go back. But this one is in a nice, shiny, moneyed place and the experience reflects that. I wasn't so hungry, having eaten a small snack after my online meeting with my teacher so I bummed a fry here and had a few drinks. The experience was good. The food was good and the drink was fine. Unlike the Berkeley location, this location was full and lively. The waiter came over to me right away gave me a menu and came back to get my order. And then brought it. The truffle parm fries were piping hot, but not hot enough to melt the parm. The truffle essence was light but the fries were good. I did shake the parm off of the fries. It was also quite salty, so... I don't know that I'll be back, because the only reason we came here was because my kid was entertaining my husband while I was meeting with my teacher online, however, if in the area of one of these and someone mentions it as an option, I won't be so turned off because I know that some of these locations can have good food and service. read more

Even though I worked in University Village for four years during college, I rarely came here. I've probably only been a handful of times, but each visit has been a decent experience. The staff is pretty friendly, and I've always been seated quickly with my food arriving in a timely manner. I dined here yesterday for dinner with a friend, and the food was great. They did forget to bring my drink, but it wasn't a big deal. I also really like that they list the calories on the menu--it's a nice touch. The menu has a good variety of options, which is great, and it's not as expensive as a lot of other places in the Village. I would definitely come back! read more

It's a cute classic American restaurant. Ambiance is good, popping during lunch time but not slow. Servers are prompt and do a good job. Food was good but I'm not sure it is worth the almost $20 per plate. We tried the breakfast burrito, wings, Dorito-crusted shishito peppers, and the pulled pork nachos. None were bad and we would come back but wouldn't rave about it and tell everyone to go here. A decent choice for good lunch food. read more

Lovely staff, service was great. I was greeted with smiles and seated almost immediately. I loved the vibe of the restaurant-- very clean and felt a little more classy. 5/5 stars for service. I got the American burger and asked for medium well. I was really hungry so I demolished it, but I've eaten at other Eureka locations, and it was slightly a miss. The patty was a little burnt and overcooked so it lost its juice. Despite being overcooked, it also wasn't served hot enough for the cheese to melt. Very comfortable outdoor seating area, and the food and service was excellent. I had a yummy fig beef and bacon burger, and my friend had a beet and bean vegetarian burger. I loved the food here! We shared the Dorito-encrusted shishito peppers, which were excellent. I ordered the ahi tuna salad but made it a wrap and added fries - a perfect meal and I had half for leftovers. There are big screens over the bar with sports on, which is nice for the people who want to see what's going on but also not distracting for the people (me) who don't really care. We stopped by after a UW volleyball game, and was expecting a wait, however, we were seated shortly after arriving. Our server was friendly, and the food delicious! We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts and the mac and cheese balls to start, the sprouts were very flavorful and mac and cheese was great esp. when it came out hot and fresh. My daughter ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich with a side of truffle fries, and I got the Fresno Fig burger, both delicious! I've ate at Eureka a few times in different t locations and every time it has been decent food. I usually don't do chains but I will do this one. The chicken tenders hit the spot since I had been craving them for about a week! Nice and tender inside and crispy on the outside. Good amount of fries with the burger and my husband enjoyed his burger with no complaints. There's plenty of seating for groups. We sat at the bar and got right in. I have never craved truffle fries more than I have after eating at Eureka for the first time two years ago. I came back and it's everything I dreamed about and more. I don't know how they managed to perfect a fry but they did it. Eureka is 5 starts just from the fries alone I wish I was joking. Fish tacos were also flavorful, but the mac and cheese balls came cold so I was a little sad about that. The wait staff have always been very kind here and the food arrives relatively quickly. It is a little dark in the restaurant though, so if you have trouble seeing (like this sweet old couple sitting next to me) you might want to ask to be moved to the tables with better lighting. We came here for an early dinner with friends and had a big group including kids. They were able to accommodate us and all the kiddos. Luckily, it was early enough to still be happy hour. The HH burger is a great deal! I think only $10 for the cheeseburger and fries - I paid the up charge for making it truffle cheese fries (I think $3) I don't necessarily think the upcharge is worth it - it was tasty, but you get so few fries to begin with that you're basically paying $3 for a few sprinkles of cheese and a squirt of sauce. My partners steak salad looked really good - steak was cooked to a good temp and was a decent size. Food: 5/5! The portions are great, although entrees are pricy, hovering around the 20$ range. I recommend the Salmon Kale salad. The salmon was fresh and delicious - melted in your mouth. It was a huge portion too. I wish there were slightly more greens, but the dressing made up for it - really delicious dairy based dressing of some sort. The fries on the side of all the burgers and sandwiches are to die for, and the portions for those are massive. Ambiance: Big restaurant at U Vil, slightly more elevated ambiance. Good for a sit down restaurant and great for big parties too. Nice big place with different sections, with a bar area as well. Loud and busy, great for dinnner with friends. Service: A bit slow, which is why I knocked off one star off of what would be 5. Granted, I was there at dinner rush around 7:30 - but it could've been a bit sharper! Overall, wouldn't be mad if I came here again! The food is great, might try coming at a less busy time. Pretty bad service this time around. It wasn't even busy. There were 3 of us, we sat at the bar, and the bartender gave us 3 drink menus but 1 food menu. Bartender was cool in terms of trying to help us out in not ordering a crappy beer and to order a different one. But after ordering our drinks, he never came back for our food orders or even asked us if we wanted food when we placed our drinks order (we were still deciding on food anyway). He really wasn't busy and took a while making some standard drinks (maybe a new bartender?). I made eye contact with a handful of staff-- one was probably even the manager, but they never came to take our food order. Review from 4/7/25. Imma start off by saying I'm only giving a 2 because my wife likes the wings. If you're going on a Saturday and it's nice outside good luck with parking but that's out of their control. My wife got the buffalo and bbq wings and she ate all the wings usually she eats half and is done. I had the bbq burger ordered medium rare with sweet potato fries no cinnamon and honey. The cheese was not melted at all compared to my wife's eureka burger and my friend's burgers. The meat was almost hockey puck like no pink at all not juicy or flavorful and they went light on the bbq sauce must've used it all on the wings. The highlight of the meal was the fries I just wish there were more of them on the plate. Our server was kinda absent but then again we went during a busy time. Eureka is a wonderful mainstay - you know exactly what you are getting and it will be good. The service is attentive and care to make things right. I happened to order a beer when they were switching kegs, and could tell off the bat that the beer was a sour and not an ipa. When I let them know, they knew exactly what had happened and let me keep the sour while fetching what I ordered. They have nice mood lighting in the evening, but it maintains its sports-bar feel at the same time. They have lots of varied food options that should accommodate anyone's taste. Ok it's been a while since I did a review so a bit rusty, but here we go. After a few hours of walking in the rain and holiday shopping, a dry warm spot at Eureka! At University Village, a welcome stop. It was chaotic in U Village, but getting a seat was fast, and the service was wonderful -- friendly, quick and responsive. Looking at their menu, and given my love of old Fashioned drink, I should have ordered a traditional but I went for the holiday gimmick: Gingerbread Man Old Fashioned. Well sometimes holiday gimmicks are just that-- is it a gold drink, yes if you like sweet, but not an old fashioned! Overly sweet and unbalanced.... It's like they gave it the Starbucks treatment of a gingerbread latte -- just make it sweet and not gingery and people will like it. It's good but not and OF I'd expect from a bar with such a good selection of whiskeys. The food was just ok. We ordered the standard Eureka burger medium rare-- in the past I've had the bone marrow burger and fig burger both of which are great -- but the namesake Eureka burger is just ok -- as are the fries. Standard restaurant fries folks, not made from fresh potatoes, nor any exciting seasoning. Just ok. So food wise it's a 3, drink wise a 3, but service was great, speed was great, attentiveness awesome... and that bumped it up to a 4. I would do 3.5 if I could. Well happy eating my dears! Eureka used to be 4-5 stars. All of a sudden the portions got both much smaller and prices went up. We got the fish tacos ($18), Asian chicken salad (18) which were both more like sides and still hungry afterwards. We plunked $17 additional dollars for an extra chicken breast sandwich and it was all bread and little chicken. Disappointing. This isn't a fancy Michelin restaurant it's a sports bar, they need to be able to feed people. read more

Roasted Vegetable tacos were cold, corn tortillas limp and small portion of vegetables (even for the small tortillas) almost missed the tiny slice of avocado. Sprinkling of dried cilantro. The arugula salad consisted of a pile of arugula and one half red cherry tomato and a VERY tiny half yellow cherry tomato. Extremely overpriced - would have given 3 stars for flavor though inadequate salad dressing for the pile of arugula. So sad.... read more

It was pretty busy but we got a table quickly. Kirby was our server. He was fun and friendly and took great care of us. We ordered the burger and chicken tenders with fries. My boyfriend and I randomly ended up here on a Friday night at 6 pm for our anniversary dinner. No reservation, we showed up and got seated in 5 minutes. The hostess was super nice, and so was our server! All the staff seemed pretty top-notch to me, and I liked the options they had on the menu, it made it difficult for me to make a decision. We both got a double smash burger and the truffle cheese fries, and I tried the charcoal passion fruit lemonade. All of it was pretty good! The ambiance of the place was also awesome. They have cute little tea light candles at each table and it felt absolutely perfect for a date. I don't remember my server's name but she was awesome and very kind! A good, well-rounded experience. Came in for a table for 2 late on a Thursday night. Seated quickly without any trouble. Service was a bit slow to get orders and waters but was very friendly and attentive for the remainder of the evening. The space is clean and spacious, good for groups both big and small. I'm not sure how busy the restaurant is during the day or peak hours but it is very accessible late in the day. One of the few places in UVillage open later so the hours and space is great. Food was fine, my bone marrow burger was on the dryer side but flavors were good. Partner had the french dip which was great, but the jus was cold. The tuna tower was unexpectedly the highlight of the meal, very well done and refreshing. Drinks are also very nice. I will say for the quality of food, the price is on the higher side.
