Sidiqa, who sold Euro Cuts, moved to Urban Flair at 2831 Honolulu Ave, near Montrose. She works part time there. It is Sidiqa who is the hidden gem and who made Euro Cuts what it was. Sidiqa and Linda can cut, color and style just about anything - from a vintage style to current trends. They are also the hair stylist for entire families too. Mine included! I've been going here since I was a teenager in La Crescenta. The salon also offers waxing. I don't wax, so am unfamiliar with this. Three years ago I moved to Venice from Silver Lake and still make the pilgrimage to Euro Cuts every time I need a cut, highlights or a style for a special occasion. I can't recommend enough. I followed Linda from another salon - I have been seeing her for 7 years now. She is a color and cut expert and has worked with me from shoulder length hair to waist length and back. She took me completely blond beautifully (my natural color is dark brown) and back. Walked in after reading two yelp reviews. I wanted a full brown color, after having highlights and not wanting to maintain them anymore. I was able to be seen right away even though I didn't make an appointment or call first. They charged $50 for a full head color mid length hair. Many of the clients that came in there were older women who all seemed to be getting their hair styled and curled, but there was one younger man. All clients were regulars and very kind. It was nice to see the relationships they had with the workers there. The workers were all very nice and I will go back, if a touch up is needed. The salon was pretty out of date, but overall did the job. read more

I have always felt it to be a true bargain, great haircut at a very reasonable price in a place I feel very welcome. There is a real feeling of community in the shop with most customers coming back over many years. There is no pretension here. A local beauty shop with local customers. The reason I started going was on the recommendation of a friend in his thirties who has been having his hair cut there since he was a boy on the recommendation of his mom who also goes there. This place is mostly "a word of mouth secret" by locals. Linda & Sidiqa have been at this a long time. I've been coming for at least 9 yrs. & now my husband & several friends have hopped on the "see how good you can look" train. Sidiqa is Sassoon trained for many years. Linda is as talented & bi-lingual too. Every one that walks in leaves looking better then when they entered. They can work on thinning or thick hair, do incredible color & cuts & pretty nice perms as nice or better than many "fancy-shmancy" Westside salons. The price is too affordable, but don't tell them, or they'll raise it. From the youngest to the oldest, men & women, clients always look better on the way out than when they entered ! They're both kind & patient, & they listen to you ! It always helps to bring in a pix, but they have lots of magazines & professional haircut photos to look through. They accept "walk-ins", but your'e taking a chance so an appointment is advisable. They're open Tues.-Sat., & don't always work evenings, but are flexible & will try to work with you if you're a working person. I needed a good haircut and this salon delivered! Linda cut my hair and she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She gave me tips on how to maintain my thick, frizzy, wavy hair while she was working on my cut. She was able to fix my layers so that they work for my hair type and when she was done, I was surprised by how much length she was able to keep on my hair. The price was more than reasonable as I've been charged more at other salons that didn't give me as nice a cut. When I need another haircut or if I'm in the market to get my hair colored, I'll definitely be heading back to Euro Cuts & Style, even though it's quite a journey from where I live.
