I had the cavaps, and it was absolutely delicious. The grilled sausages were perfectly seasoned--rich and savory with just the right amount of spice to give them character without overpowering the dish. The lepinja (flatbread) it was served with was a perfect match--light, fluffy, and warm. The ajvar sauce was fantastic. I honestly wouldn't mind having a jar of it at home. The Euro Grill & Cafe is an unassuming restaurant on Central Ave, but it's definitely one not to miss. They specialize in Bosnian food, which reminds me a little bit of Mediterranean food if you've never head it before. I ordered the half cevaps sandwhich, and I was blown away. The bread (lepina) is so soft and fluffy. It feels like it melts in your mouth. Cevaps are these flavorful sausages. It's a really hearty meal, so you won't leave hungry. I also got a side of fries, which were crisped to perfection. As another huge plus, everything felt very reasonably priced. This cozy building has both a restaurant and a small grocery store together. The restaurant itself is small, but there's enough seating for a handful of smaller groups. They also do have patio seating, which is pleasant when the weather is warm enough. Lastly, they do have a decent parking lot, which is a huge plus. My first Bosnian food experience was pleasant and satisfying. +. Ambiance is better than I expected. This resto like many ethnic restos is connected to a small grocery store. You first walk through a tiny mostly dry and frozen grocer to a tiny DR with white cloth tables. Welcoming and friendly vibe. +. Initially I called and ordered a burger to go but after finding out that it had cream, I opted for a small cevaps and a baklava. 1/2 cevaps was plenty for me. It was well packaged to keep the sandwich warm and I dressed it with 3 accompanied condiments, chopped onions, yogurt and red pepper sauces. The airy (fried?) bread was outstanding! But the meat was a little salty for me though it may be fine for most peeps. The sammie had a good balance of textures and flavors. Baklava though was bland and would skip it. +. This place is a hidden gem on Central ave! The exterior is definitely unassuming, it almost just looks like a house with chairs out front. However once you enter, the beautiful smells and sounds of sizzling meats and baking bread immediately are apparent. I ordered a cevaps sandwich, with fries on the side, and let me tell you, it's is FILLING! I basically had to take a nap after finishing this! The sausages are juicy and filled with flavor, and the special bread is piping hot and a perfect balance to the delightfully greasy and tasty sausage. Euro Grill and Cafe is a step into an Eastern European Cafe right in Charlotte. I made a stop just because the cafe was on the Yelp 100. I've never had Bosnian food before and really have nothing to compare it to. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed what I ordered. I got the Cevaps and Spicy Sausage Combo with Fries. The portion was huge and the taste was good. The cevaps are similar to a sausage to me. The flatbread was buttery and one a little chewy. I like the fluffy butter and roasted red pepper sauce that comes with the dish. I looked around the shop and would love to try some of the items they have in stock. Not your average place. Definitely a diamond in the rough. You wouldn't think it's a restaurant walking up in true dive style. BUT swallow your fear and keep waking. Some of the best food ever. Beautiful buttered naan like bread with homemade sausages is a dish called cevapi (shi-vaap-ee). The orange sauce it comes with is my favorite but both are good. You'll need to ask for extra. Closed on Mondays. Parking is in the back and you can come in the back door, walk through the small market and into the restaurant side. Friendly folks here and the food is good (see my pics). Large chevapi will run you about 10 bucks and they do have a couple tables at which to eat inside. Not sure if they have free wifi or not, but portions are generous, the food is fresh and it's tasty. We found this on the Yelp Top 100 list for 2019 and decided to get it for our most recent quarantine takeout. We got the Regular Cevapi plate, the Meat Lovers Medley, and the Spinach and Cheese Burek (Zeljanica). I've never had Bosnian food so I was excited to try it for the first time. My favorite thing was the Burek. I loved the phyllo dough. I also really enjoyed the Cevapi. The sauce that came with it was really good. I wasn't as big of a fan of the other meats that were on the Meat Lovers Medley. It was still good, but the Cevapi was the best. I'd recommend checking them out to try Bosnian food! read more

It's one of the best things I've ever tasted, anywhere. Get it on the bread it comes on, as a sandwich, and ask for the red sauce too. F***ing heaven. The juice shoots out from the meat into your mouth (I know you're used to this in the bedroom but at the table it can be just as thrilling), and it's so flavourful and awesome. *** Edit: I can now say that I am utterly addicted to the Cevapi. I get a little cup of the red sauce on the side. One Cevapi sandwich fills me up completely, sometimes twice (that sounds dirty, but it's not, I mean I eat half of it later, you gutter minded internet generation, you). Don't let the low key exterior throw you off as the food here is great. I had the large cevapi to go. It was hot and delicious. I would have liked some more of the roasted red pepper sauce though as it came in a small container, next time I'll ask for double. There is a free parking lot in the back. I recommend walking around to the front to enter the restaurant. The door on the back of the building leads into the market, which is attached, not the restaurant. I will be back on the next trip to Charlotte as the food is good, it's inexpensive, and it's served hot! read more

After much small/regular debate, I decided on the Small Cevaps with a side salad. The sandwich was still HUGE and the side salad wasn't skimpy either. The sausages and sauces had fantastic flavor and seemed very fresh. A little messy to eat as the sausages don't hold in place the same way a burger would, but delicious all the same. I ordered desserts to go- Tulumba, Baklava, and Hurmasica. The Baklava and Hurmasica were phenomenal. Cevaps, salad, & desserts came to $15 total, incredible value for the amount and quality of food IMO. Wow! What a surprise and true delight. It's definitely a hidden gem. The cafe is a cute, but I would not say you go there for ambience. You go for the food hands down. It's fresh, piping hot, and damn delicious. I had the cevapp, and I think it was a half, fries, an elderflower soda, and I took a baklava to go. I can't wait to go back!!! It was so much food, again a 1/2, but I heartily accepted the challenge and finished it! That bread - fresh, buttery, absolutely divine. The meat - well seasoned, juicy. I'm an onion girl, so I was into the big onion dice. What takes it over the top is the combo smear of red pepper spread & this buttery sour cream they make - there are technical names I'm sure, but i don't know them. I could drink the butter sour cream spread. There's a cute little market too, nothing is in English, but the clerk was super helpful as I randomly picked Bosnian groceries to try. I tried Bosnian food at an international festival once and was so happy to find a place that serves cevapis in Charlotte! The restaurant is small and cozy and makes you feel welcome when you come in. The sausages were soooo good as well as the bread that comes with it. It was very fluffy and delicious. It paired well with the pepper paste (ajvar) and mayo (kajmak) as well as the onions. I came here shortly before I moved away from the area and it was legitimately one of the things I missed the most about Charlotte. I was thrilled to discover that Euro Grill & Cafe hadn't lost its touch after a few years and that it still deserves its lofty place in my heart. The Bosnian Burger (Pljeskavica if you're confident in your pronunciation) is out of this world good. The meat is spiced to perfection with a ton of cheese on top and the lepinja is some of the best bread I've ever had. Looking for this type of menu since I left NYC. Burek in NYC is made by earthen Europeans. I mean any restaurant/eatery I went to had grandma's making this delicious goodies. This place is tiny with about 4 tables. The menu is larger than the spot. The owner is a doll and joked with us through out. The Jaeger Schnitzel | Lovačka was really good. The red pepper sauce that came with it made the dish! I got the Flaky filo dough filled with beef and one with spinach and cheese. I called it burek, but that's not what it's called here. It reminded me of my New York Burek just not as thick or full. But it was good! They were both good and I'm like this l: the one I'm eating is the one I like best. Beef was good!
