STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Tim at Euro Tech is a liar and a thief. 1. He charged me $495.26 for "OEM" rotors which he then said was oem equivalent after I caught him lying. OEM equivalent should not be equally priced as OEM Audi parts. 2. He charged me $11 a quart for oil at 8.5 quarts. My Audi takes 7.2 quarts for an oil change. EDIT* I just received a low oil light warning, so he charged me for 8 quarts but I'm a quart low?? 3. LABOR only to resurface the rear rotors and change front and rear pads (I supplied pads) was $490! Apparently it takes him an average of 1 hour per corner to replace pads. Tim at Euro Tech was an absolute life saver! About two months ago I drove to Southern CA to visit a friend before heading on a cross country trek to NY! A few days into my SoCal trip, the oil light went on in my car and it turned out that my water pump was leaking in my car! Tim went out of his way to accommodate me and my car's issue. He fixed it in a timely manner, even while having to order parts, etc. I can attest to the quality of his labor, as since getting my car fixed I have driven 5,000+ miles with no issues at all! He also did an overview of my car and told me what to focus on for my next tuneup. Also-- for all you people saying he is expensive: he was not that much more expensive, if at all, than the VW dealership. I would much rather give my money to him than to an unfriendly corporation. I took my BMW to Tim at Eurotech on the recommendation of a friend. With 26K miles on the car, the oil had been changed when I got it at 22K miles. I asked him to look it over and after waiting 25 minutes for him to show up, I left it with him for the day. He called me late in the day and quoted $1500 for service. I told him this was more than I expected and I'd let him know in the morning if I wanted to proceed. He told me he'd already started draining the oil, and when I picked it up the next morning, he charged me $488 for oil, filter, air filter and cabin filter. At Auto Zone that costs: 1) Oil $50 2) Oil Filter $15 3) Air Filter $20 4) Cabin Air Filter $20 So he charged me almost $500 for unauthorized service with parts costing around $100. I will never, ever bring my car back to Tim at Eurotech. He's a complete ripoff! read more

I am going to venture a guess that every review on here is from a friend or family member of the owner Tim. Here's how he ripped me off: I brought in my e30, 325 e which was not in running condition. Tim told me he had experience with these vehicles and could swap a 325i onto the 325e block to create some more top end hp. I read articles about people doing this and it is certainly possible. Tim quoted me $4,000.00 for an engine swap (started with a whole new 325e motor) with a $1,000 buffer in case something unforeseen occured. He also quoted me about 2 weeks for the job to be done (even though I thought this was too ambitious myself). 2 weeks passed, nothing. Another 2 weeks passed, nothing. I figured this would take a while so I didn't want to bug him and pester him about the car. I figured I'd give him a month more to finish the job, but boy was I wrong. Long story short, after 6 months, I called Tim to complain and he told me he believed he had "blown" my budget and that I owed him something like $7-8k. At that point I had enough and I told him that he had not honored a single promise. Not only did he not do the swap he promised me he would do (ended up poorly installing only the 325e engine), but that he had taken half a year to do it. I told him that I wasn't happy and he said it wasn't worth it for him to do this kind of job anymore. I told him then he shouldn't have agreed to do it in the first place. When I picked up my car he tried to charge me an extra $500 and I refused to pay it. Ended up giving the $5k even though I shouldn't have, and took my care back. Oh, and by the way, he threatened to keep my care if I refused to pay. I contacted the BAR and they told me he can't do that. I really wanted to sue this guy but decided it wouldn't be worth the head ache and I don't want to deal with him ever again. My car barely drove after 6 months and I had to take it to another shop, Michaelangelo's, to get it running right. Michaelangelo did a fantastic job, but Euro Tech and Tim could not be more crooked. He seems like a nice family man, but I can't fathom a worse experience with a mechanic. This all happened years ago but I've been so irate about it that just coming across his page on yelp I felt compelled to tell my story. read more

It's been a challenge to find a mechanic in my area in Mission Viejo to work on the old Volkswagen engines. I called for Euro Tech for maintenance work on my VW engine and I visited Tim's shop before I brought my car down to him . His shop is clean and well organized and he currently had high end European cars up on his indoor racks. I wanted to make sure my car was kept inside at night. It's hard to find somebody that knows the idiosyncrasies of a 1970 Volkswagen engine and Tim at EuroTech was able to provide good, quick work with tuning my VW 1600 engine.
