I'm very disappointed with my experience at European Motorworks. I brought my Range Rover in because I was hearing a clicking sound when turning and wanted the vehicle properly diagnosed. I was told that I needed a new transfer case and an airbag sensor, which was going to cost me around $4,600. What concerned me was that another shop I had visited previously had never mentioned either of these issues. European Motorworks also changed the labor price more than once and was preparing to order a transfer case that was not the correct one for my vehicle. Installing the wrong part could have caused serious problems. There were also issues with the condition of my vehicle after it was worked on. The plastic clips on my passenger seat cover were broken, and I was told another shop had done it, even though European Motorworks was the only shop that had worked on that seat regarding the airbag sensor. My undersplash guard was also left off, and some of the bolts were missing. I had to return the next day just to get the guard back. Because I was uncomfortable with the diagnosis, I took my Range Rover to Luxury Auto Body Shop and worked with Tom. He was amazing and took the time to perform a full diagnostic and test the transfer case. They found that there was nothing wrong with the transfer case that required replacement. It only needed to be drained and refilled with the proper fluid. They also found that the airbag issue simply needed to be put back where it was supposed to be. Instead of spending approximately $4,600 on repairs that were not necessary, Tom was able to resolve the issues for $960, saving me around $3,600. He even tried to repair the passenger seat plastic cover that had been damaged. I'm sharing my experience because I believe customers should get a proper diagnosis and a clear explanation before agreeing to expensive repairs. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion, especially when you're being quoted thousands of dollars for major repairs. read more

After receiving a ridiculous quote from BMW south Austin I called to have an oil change and brake issue checked. Scheduling was quick & easy. I planned on dropping off my vehicle but was informed it would only be a few hours at most. They had WiFi & a comfortable waiting area. I was sent a digital vehicle inspection with pictures which created a lot of trust in the recommendation of repairs needed. I was alerted to an oil leak issue but was not an emergency immediate need I will return to have this addressed by my next oil change. AN EMPLOYEE AT EUROPEAN WERKSHOP DROVE OUR RANGE ROVER SPORT 20 MILES HOME AFTER SHOP HOURS WITHOUT OUR CONSENT! WE HAVE GPS! TLDR: Russell, the sales person, told us our Range Rover Sport would be ready on 3/17 and we found out via GPS that our car was at HIS HOME on 3/16 (day before it was going to be ready for pick up) over TWENTY miles away AFTER shop hours??? Basically, an employee took our car to commute home OVERNIGHT. We had our Range Rover Sport and was told by Russell that our vehicle would be ready the next day (tomorrow). Three hours later we see our car is in SOUTH Austin (the shop is in the domain- North Austin) at what we later find out is Russell's home. The shop closes at 6pm and it's 5:30pm. What was our car doing in South Austin? My husband asks to speak with the owner and the front desk person was not making eye contact and the overall vibe was that they had been discovered for something they all knew was wrong. We are then told by the mechanics and Russell that this is NORMAL practice! Long story short if you didn't catch it: ACCORDING TO THEIR SALES REPRESENTATIVE AND MECHANICS, IT IS THEIR PRACTICE TO COMMUTE HOME WITH YOUR LUXURY VEHICLES WITHOUT CONSENT! My husband waited an HOUR for him to drive the car back and after another 30 minutes of back and forth argument, my husband paid the $3k bill. He had to drive his car back home, and left just in an Uber to go pick up my car. It's now 7:19 PM on 3/16/23. Had we been told that it was normal practice for them to keep clients luxury vehicles at their employees homes OVERNIGHT we would have said "HELL F$&@/NG NO" why can't they take it on a test drive during shop hours? We feel totally taken advantage of and now feel as though they played us for fools. We can't speak to the work they did. All we can do is hope they didn't swap out parts or something shady. Nauseated by the whole thing, honestly. I will also update with screenshots of our vehicle being in 20 miles away on a "test drive" in south Austin past shop hours. I will update when we hear back from the owner. If there is NO UPDATE on this review, the owner DID NOT CALL US BACK. My husband was told by the office that they could not give him the owners phone number. Took my Cayenne in for 20k service. Had a few extras added on like new tires, new brakes. Totally fine. Trying to get a status on when it would be ready? Hard. Mailboxes full and couldn't leave vm. Sign on the counter when you're paying says 4% charge for credit card usage. When your bill is $3k+, this is poor form. It makes me feel like they don't value me as a customer. It's a cost of running a business. Increase your cost of an oil change by 4%, but don't tell me I need to pay for your operational expenses directly like that. And btw, no one mentioned this tax until I was paying. Makes me wonder what shortcuts they may have taken to cut costs servicing my car. Hope my car is ok. I'm not sure I'll go back. read more

I will NEVER return to this place!!! (Full of Rats) I took my car for an oil change on a Wednesday 3rd, all normal as always every time I had taken it with them, the problem started days later when Sunday March 7th night I used my car for some errands and on my way to my home, my car was overheating (the engine) and once upon a reviewing it, I realize that it doesn't have a drop of antifreeze, so I waited to the next morning Monday March 8th to put antifreeze fluid on it and the car starts to spill everything (attached video). I decided to take it back to this place for a diagnosis, I left it there all morning and Monday afternoon, later on I receive a call from Chris telling me that a hose is damaged and it needs to be replaced, the total cost of "this work" is $673.11 as indicated on the receipt (highlighted in orange) I wondered why that price was so high so I decided to tow my car out of there since I couldn't drive it without a drop of antifreeze (this would further damage the engine and make things worse) and take it with someone else of my confidence and expert on this kind of cars and the diagnosis of this new person was totally different since it indicates that the hose was simply disconnected and didn't need replacement because it was in good condition, obviously the cost of this was much cheaper and without need of extra charges for new parts, it should be noted that this new person tells me that it is something very strange and unlikely that specifically that hose would come loose by itself. What makes me think these people from the "European motorwerks" wanted to take advantage of me by not being very expert on this and get extra money to make this movement of disconnecting the hose and having to go back to them for a "false" diagnosis and see me forced to leave the car under repair with them because I couldn't take it somewhere else and because they believed that I was going to stay like this with crossed arms and just let them steal that money from me. LAST THING! Yo can see this is my first review 'cause I'm not a believer of this stuff or of lost my time with this BUT in this case I did take my time cause to me this was bullshit read more

Recently bought a bmw 335i and was curious what shape it was in. Took it in for a buyers inspection and they let me chill out inside for a few hours while they looked it over. Came back with a full inspection and quotes on all repairs needed. Ended up getting a leaky oil sensor replaced and a new oil change. I would try to call for an update and wouldn't get a reply for weeks. My calls would go unanswered and go straight to voicemail. I used a friends phone to call and they answered first ring. Today, after a long, tiring and stressful day, I missed some signs and made the mistake of turning into the wrong parking lot from Burnet when trying to get to a FedEx location I wasn't familiar with. I thought, maybe I could find an exit or turnaround (I did miss one, hidden behind fencing). An employee came out, and I thought, "Ah, I'll just let him know I took a wrong turn, I don't need assistance." Instead, I was screamed at, berated, because the employee assumed I was a liar. While looking for a spot to turn around, a male mechanic/ employee told me "there's no way out dumbass". My windows were rolled down because the weather is awesome today. Please stay away from this company or you may spend your money without any reason. I spent $1,909.87 and they didn't fix my car. On December 2021 a check engine light showed up in my car (for the first time ever). I visited Autozone to scan my car and the OBD scanner showed that the only reason I got check engine light is an error related to code P0456 - Evap System Small Leak / Evaporative Emission System Lead Detected (very small leak). I scheduled an appointment at European Motorwerks (December 20th, 2021) to have my car fixed. Unfortunately, the check engine light came on again, 4 weeks later, for the same problem (I scanned my car again to Autozone). I went to European Motorwerks and asked them to fix my car for no charge because the problem related to check engine light and the Evaporation System was not fixed. They denied saying that this is another problem. European Motorwerks either intentionally fixed something irrelevant to the initial problem that I asked to be fixed (Evaporation System) or didn't do anything to my car at all. It is not a coincidence that 4 weeks after visiting European Motorwerks check engine light came on, with the same code. Apparently, check engine light was reset and then, after several driving cycles, the OBD was able to determine the same problem again. Also, the fact that they didn't want to accept my credit card in first place possibly indicates that this is something they systematically do to ensure that a transaction will not be disputed. In many reviews you may see that the merchant is saying "we have no customer in our database matching any of the information you provided". This is something they might say in case that they don't have a valid explanation to a review. My story is 100% true, otherwise I wouldn't spent time to write this review; I do it just to help the community and avoid any business with European Motorwerks. Thank you. read more

I brought in my 10+ year old Porsche that needed extensive repair. European Motorwerks quickly gave me a quote and a transparent explanation of what it needed and why. Their quote was a fraction of the cost a different shop quoted me the day before and were much better at answering my questions. They sourced great parts for my repairs, once again better than a previous shop offered. The repairs were done in a satisfactory timeframe and my vehicle was returned in great shape. Respectfully I wish I was here to say something good about the business. I had my vehicle towed because the "owner" said it was no problem to have my vehicle looked at and at the minimum diagnosed. My vehicle was there over a month and was never diagnosed. And to top things off this car place gave the keys and allowed someone else to gain possession of my vehicle. The car was supposed to be fixed for my son. I have yet to tell him his car has been stolen. I asked if they verify with the customer when a car is being picked up and never got a response. Eric and team took incredible care of me, and what really stood out was they went out of their way to provide stellar service. I'm based in California and was buying a used Porsche in the Austin, TX area. After a couple calls, I came across European Motorwerks to do a full buyer's inspection to assess the current state of the vehicle. I could tell they had pre-existing knowledge of Porsches and their prices were more competitive. Despite their busy schedules, they drove out to pick up and return the car from the dealer, which was a HUGE ask on my part since I'm out-of-town. They gladly did so, and were able to complete the inspection that same afternoon. Their work was very thorough and led to some key findings that enabled me to further negotiate the purchase price. These guys are jerks! It was lightly raining and I accidentally turned too soon trying to get to a business next door. Their parking area was small and didn't see how to turn around. I decided to go around back and see if there was another way out or turn around back there. The other way out was by jumping the curb. I turn around and I find the way I came in was blocked by a gate. I saw a guy while I was turning around, but he disappeared. By the gate was two garage doors with windows. I see no one. I honk, wait 30 sec, honk a couple more, wait 30 sec, honk a couple more, wait a min, and nothing. I then honk a bit more aggressively, still no one after another min. I get out into the rain and I see my vision at the window I was at was blocked by a vehicle on a lift. I see there are a couple of mechanics blatantly ignoring me. I knocked on the garage door. Maybe they didn't hear me. I knocked again and had to wave over one of the mechanics. When he opened the garage door, I apologized and ask him to open the gate. He said I had to talk to the manager. I found the manager and when I was two words into asking for him to open the gate, he yelled at me to shut up. Then he berated me about honking and told me I should have just came in. He asked me if I saw the private property sign. I said I did not. He told me to go out and he will open the gate. These guys are rude and seem to get their jollies off trapping people in their fence. I do not expect to get a fair deal with a business like this. read more

Took my car into this company (Sept 29, 2020) to have the transmission repaired, I had to call this company almost everyday to get updates, Service Advisor: Eric Hallas, told me the car was not touched for a week do to the mechanic was out of town. The shop would give me a date for completion, and the date would pass and then a new date would be given and again I had to call again and again for updates. Car was completed Nov. 5th. When I went to pickup my car, (nobody was wearing a mask) we were greeted by a guy named Chris, who then told me the car was still not ready, was out for a test run (45 mins). Chris then came outside, ask why I had an issue with the length of time they had my car and I told him that it was just too much time for them to have my car and that set Chris off the rails. He started to yell and threaten me with physical harm along with profanity. I had to walk away from Chris because if I stayed, Chris would have assaulted me. Also, the shop charges 4% extra if you don't pay with cash or check. read more
