I love this location! There is free designated parking in a parking lot only for EWC customers. This is very convenient. For some places you have to pay. Walking in I'm always greeted with smiles and great positive attitudes. Makes me feel happy to be there. Customer service is great. The estheticians are great at what they do! Came in for the first time and I can painlessly say I will be back. Staff are great, the rooms are clean and the appointment lasts about 15 minutes, quick and easy! Parking is hit or miss, there are pay to parks all along Madison but be quick, spots go by fast. I saw Rikki and she is great! She talks you through the whole (swift) appointment and she does a great job of explaining all the benefits of the hard wax. Never heard of hard wax before?! Well, my friends welcome to the better side of waxing. This was my first time trying it out and I can say I will NEVER be going back to soft wax (the one with the strips of paper, I cringe just thinking about it). EWC has their own wax they use and it's a game changer. They also have some products that are helpful for post-appointment care. They have a few packages you can choose from as well, it's helpful to buy in bundles (the cost goes down per wax). While I just started my wax journey with EWC a little over a year ago I have never felt so comfortable with an esthetician before. I came across Kaliyah at the west loop EWC and she's now my favorite! She's super sweet and funny talks to you during the entire process and she's very quick and doesn't miss a single hair. I want to gatekeep Katrina so bad but my conscience will not allow it. As a mixed girl who is middle eastern I have lots of coarse hair that grows unevenly at times making me feel like I have to wait 5 weeks to get a clean wax which as we know can be more painful because the follicles will have regained their strength by then. Katrina proved me wrong and waxed me in between my 3-4 week mark until I was baby smooth all while giving me professional advice on how to better take care of my skin without making me feel like I HAVE to buy something (I ended up buying things because the product prices aren't too bad! ). Once again this particular location is beyond disappointing in their service. I had an appointment scheduled, the wax specialist called in sick and no one picked up a phone to let me know. I arrive at the location and they are like, we texted it. Well I don't subscribe to your texts and they responded yeah we see it failed. WTF kind of service is that? This comes after the fact less than a month ago they double charged my card, cancelled twice on me with day of notification. Okay I must say that Alexis (esthetician) was freaking amazing. Tonight was my first time at a European Wax Center. While I'm not a virgin when it comes to Brazilian waxes she knew that I had move home and was trying to find a place to call home for my waxes. I honestly would say she did that until the reception Nicole was really rude!!! Never judge a book by its cover because even though I had on old sweats and a sweater (looking like a bum) her attitude was horrible to me, as I watched her nice to others. The other reception working was explaining the packages to me before I could decide and was looking at leg packages as well... Nicole say "Is it that hard". I had to tell the other reception I believe Alexis (not the one that did the wax) to cancel the appointment that I had just made with her for 4 weeks out. I will find another place to call home. While I was already scheduled to keep coming to her I literally cancelled and walked out. I will be speaking with the manager Dominique tomorrow. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a new guest. I felt disrespected and belittled. So even though Alexis was amazing and did a great job on my Brazilian I wish I could see her at a different place. read more

EWC in the West Loop broke by wax virginity. As nervous as I was the experience was better expected. Mashia was professional and through. My appointment was for 9:45 I didn't wait too long to be serviced. The process was great and painless. I booked online I wanted to do 2 services in the same visit but the time was not available. I called and changed my service the day before they were very accommodating. Mashia instructed me on how to care for my Brazilian wax in between waxes and gave me a lot of information that was very helpful. She was friendly and caring. Although the products the tech recommends are not a requirement to buy at the least the wipes are good to consider. At the time of my first service I received 1/2 off and they had a sale on the products which was great. Overall I recommend and I will be a recurring customer. read more

I had to walk 2 blocks to get to this place because of the area. The receptionist was non empathetic and truly just didn't care. I was literally 9mins late and that's the the walk from the car to the place. Their address is confusing because they share it with a cleaners that's next door. This is my first time ever leaving a review, but it felt justified based on my continued horrible interactions with the reception staff (who are a continual revolving door.) The wax specialists themselves are absolutely fantastic, and I hate to leave any of them. However, I will no longer tolerate the unbelievably rude behavior from the reception staff. I feel harassed every single time I go for not purchasing a wax pass. It's uncomfortable and they seem to purposely try to make you feel uncomfortable about not having one. Today the person at the front listed my recent appointments and accusingly asked "Why don't you have a wax pass?" and then proceeded to list all her perceived benefits - AFTER I politely said i didn't want a wax pass. It is frankly none of her business whether or not I have a wax pass and I will not be allowed to be shamed for that. My problem is not with the product. They have the best wax. Let's talk about their package policy and their appointment policy. I purchased a package several months ago. My debit card was compromised so they were not able to debit the card for all the payments as the number was changed. I called today to make a reservation completely unaware that there was an issue. I do not live or work near any of the centers anymore, but have stopped in the Madison St. and Elmhurst locations no fewer than three times in the past two months trying to get in and they are always booked so they said make a reservation, so that is what I was trying to do. I felt as if I was treated like a criminal. Even though they already had more of my money that I had received in services including what I wanted done today, they refused to make an appointment. I said I did not want to drive there and get turned away. Finally the girl agreed to hold the time. Then when I got there they insisted that I pay off the entire package today, because I owed all the months since February. I was not expecting that or I would have said I would wait; however, I was already there. I said I know what's in my checking today, can we do one payment today and then you can do the rest on Monday, so again I was willing to pay it all off, but I needed to wait for my next payments to hit on Monday. NO. I knew it would not go through for the entire amount today and it did not. So their first answer, I could not get a service until I paid off the package. This would be fair if I would owe them money, but today was only wax #2 of a 9 wax package so that was not going to work, because ... they have more of my money....... I probably could have given them a credit card, but after talking to four people over the previous two hours I was so upset at how this was being handled, so yes, I was frustrated and decided to stay in their lobby until I received what I had already paid and she finally agreed to credit my account what I paid to date and then forget the package. I got my service. Then as I was checking out. I only received one service and they attempted to charge the credit for services that was $14 more. I always get the same service, but I know in the room the technician was pushing me to do the higher priced service. Good thing I asked. This could have been so easy. Advise me of the issue when I called. Make the appointment without requiring an Act of Congress but tell my how much money they needed today before I left to drive to the Center and none of this would have happened. I like the wax so if all this happened before I was upset, I would have just put it on the credit card. But then it became a matter of principle because they refused to make the appointment or even giving me what I had already paid for. read more

Usually I go to a nail salon to get my eyebrows waxed, but being new to the area I tried this place out. They walked me through the process and made sure I was happy with their recommendation. They aren't pushy sales people for the products after either, the technician that did my eyebrows said that she usually recommends brow products, but seeing as my eyebrows are so dark there was no need to. I had the best experience with Tiffany. I was a newbie to waxing. I decided to get everything done in one day. I was very nervous and I have a low pain threshold but Tiffany was wonderful. She talked to me through the whole process. She eased me into every area and before I knew it we were done. My legs were the most painful but she was fast and gentle. Rikki is seriously the sweetest! She made my first Brazilian at this location very tolerable and relaxing, def going back to her! However, she didn't have time to do additional services (which is not her fault), so I had to go with Joanna, she was complaining and upset that she had to do my nose, side burns and upper lip wax at the end of her shift. She was tugging at my skin- seriously the most painful experience I've had for face waxing. She didn't take her time. She didn't let the wax dry for my nose and ended up tugging at my skin. Maybe next time I will check to see if the esthetician isn't tired or upset and end up taking their anger out on me read more

I had an appointment today at 10:30-10:45, but ended up arriving late at 10:46 (completely on me). However I was not expecting the nasty attitude from the receptionist that was to follow. She didn't even do as much as saying 'hello' or 'good morning'. Instead she roughly asked my name and let me know that they could not accommodate me until Monday because of a 9 minute grace period that I missed. Funny how that was never written in the confirmation that they sent me when I booked nor is it on their website. I proceeded to ask her for help booking at another location with which she answered with attitude that I would have to call the other location myself. What kind of customer service is that? I find it hard to believe that she couldn't simply look in the system and help me out, or at least offer up a helpful solution/idea. Management really needs to review these comments that tall about the negative attitude of the staff. You're fortunate to be working during a global pandemic. I've come here more times than I can count, and have always had a great experience except for one time, but I won't hold it against them lol. I believe the waxer was new. What keeps me coming back is the WAX PASS. Where can you find a better deal?? Being able to schedule online is super convenient, and I never have trouble getting an appointment or making modifications to an existing one, if need be. Everyone was rude, from the girls at the receptionist desk to the lady that provided the service.
