I had a great 'remote' buying experience with EV-Rides. I had some nerves buying a car remotely, but the sale went quick and without a hitch; my expectations were exceeded. I purchased a 2018 Tesla model 3 performance with rebuilt title, mostly dealing with Guillermo, although Anton did help out as well. As mentioned, this was a remote transaction, I bought the car only seeing pictures and talking with Guillermo. Similar to what I read in the reviews before buying from EV-rides, there was no pressure, the car was described in detail, all my questions were answered and when I received the car, it was even cleaner than I expected. It was comforting to see so many good reviews, and I also had come across a local Portland news broadcast about EV car sales which featured Anton. This was another re-assuring component before buying remotely. Guillermo made the transaction very easy, all the paperwork, and even quickly coordinated a driver to deliver the car for a very reasonable price. I had no issues, the title came quickly, the price was absolutely amazing and as I mentioned, even though the car was described as in "great shape" with a healthy battery, I was shocked at how good of condition it was in when I received it. And yes, the battery is in better than average condition for its age. There were a few times during our communications when I was antsy for a response, but in hindsight, these guys are very busy and their responses were all received within reason; I can't really complain, I was just excited. NIGHTMARE SCENARIO 1 & 2 1) I had to wait 13 weeks to get the title for the car from EV Rides. I paid for my 2016 Leaf with a bank transfer on 1/25/2024. The car was delivered on 2/8/2024, but I did not get the title until 5/6/2024 so there were 13 weeks when I could not register the car. Guillermo claimed that I had received it and lost it: not true. It looks like they are just a sloppy outfit. 2) I paid extra for a 40kWh battery, but it is failing and EV Rides will not honor the warranty. On 11/26/2024 I reported the problem to them. I had a local EV technician confirm that there appeared to be a problem. I sent additional information gleaned from the Leafspy application showing 453mV cell deviation (20mV is more typical). They will not answer my repeated e-mails, voice messages, and FB contact to Anton. I will get satisfaction if it requires legal action. read more

After admittedly patching communications over the holidays, we decided to move ahead early Feb. A day later my car was on its way, and 2 days after that I got the photo showing the huge increase in range. Talk about excited! 2 days after that the car was back on my doorstep. They were friendly and knew their stuff. No pressure. When I decided what car and battery I wanted it was ready the next day. I walked out with my title, registration paid for and in process. Got my $5000 rebate and plates shortly thereafter. Make sure you read the fine print on the Oregon DEQ website. I almost didn't qualify for the rebate. Awesome city driving car. We contacted EV Rides in early November because we wanted to arrange a battery replacement for our Leaf. After a few calls back and forth we finally spoke with "Joe" who told us to get the process started we would need to complete an online form and send a $500 deposit. We also indicated that we wanted their help to transport our Leaf to Portland. We were told they could help for an additional $100. We completed the form and sent the deposit. Once receiving the $500 deposit there was literally no communication with EV Rides unless we initiated. After blowing us off more times than we can count we contacted them via email and text to cancel and get a refund. Still no response- with the help of our bank we finally got our deposit back. Wrong side of the tracks, check, junk cars out front, check, too busy to answer phones, check .... these guys got is going. You get a lot of bang for the buck here. My 2011 leaf was a brick, slang for it is totally dead, traction motor offline. Pulled the codes, could be one of five things, all difficult. Sent the codes to Anton and he came up with the same conclusion, bad battery junction box so I found a good box and he said 10am Monday. They called at noon saying the car was "done", oh well it is old and didn't have much range, no, it is finished, get the car out of here, they don't have space. It works, turns out I brought in the wrong part, Nissan revised the box four times in 2011-2012 and my was slightly off. They had a spare on the shelf and put mine in their inventory. Price? - it cost twice what it cost to tow the car cross town. For this, they had to drop the H/V battery, crack open the case, replace the part and put it back together and get the diagnosis right. I have similar experiences to below. I contacted EV rides and got on what seemed to be a wait list 5 months ago and then nothing unless I reached out to ask what was happening. Then Anton replied back saying they had a few batteries in stock that matched what I was waiting more. My 2011 LEAF was at ~30-40m of range on a full charge. Anton arranged pickup for my car and it had a new battery within a couple days and he arranged shipment back (for a reasonable small fee to the transporter each way) Now my car reads 169 miles and runs great! I couldn't be happier with the result but the communication while we were "in line" was frustrating hence only 4 stars. It was very unsettling to wire money (a lot of money) to another state to someone I've never met though it all worked out fine. Bought a used Nissan Leaf and wanted to have the battery replaced with something that had longer life and much greater range. Called up EV rides and asked for a quote on a replacement battery. The business has a small shop feel. They can over share on the phone sometimes. However the work done was good. My Leaf had a 47 mile range going in and a 237 mile range coming out. They back their work if needed. Would have given 5 stars but there was a little rework required on the installed battery and they charge a 3% fee if you pay by credit card.
