We tried a variety of oysters, cocktail shrimp, and the razor clams which we heard were amazing. All I'm gonna say is, I would have been annoyed if I waited in line for hours for the items we got. The cocktail shrimp was decent - it was a good size, juicy, and delicious. The razor clams were a miss. Rubbery and too many other things in the dish overshadowing the clams. We got two different kinds of fresh clams which my husband said were okay. I'm not a fan of fresh clams. The oysters were good, but after having been to Row 34, I can't justify standing in line for oysters in a place that doesn't have much else worth trying.

But then when I asked for utensils, the server looked at me confused and after 2-3 tries, he finally brought me a fork. Overall the experience was okay. Might have to try a different boil if we come back.

During our recent visit, we had the opportunity to sample some of their signature dishes, including the Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll, Oysters on the Half Shell, and New England Clam Chowder. The Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll stole the show. While the portion size left us craving for more, the unique twist of serving it in a pillowy bao bun added an unexpected layer of delight. The rich, nutty brown butter complemented the succulent lobster meat beautifully, creating a flavor explosion that had us longing for seconds. The only downside was its petite size; I could have easily devoured five of those. The Oysters on the Half Shell were a hit as well. They were impeccably fresh and served with a delightful mignonette, earning a solid 10/10 rating. However, the New England Clam Chowder was a bit of a letdown. It lacked the traditional creamy consistency and tasted more like a pork broth with clams, leaving us craving the classic chowder texture. Our visit took place in the middle of a Wednesday, and the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and efficient, ensuring our orders arrived promptly. We recently visited Eventide before attending a Red Sox game, driven by a craving for lobster rolls. Our experience exceeded expectations. I ordered both types of lobster rolls available and found them both exceptional. Personally, I preferred the butter roll, as the butter sauce was particularly flavorful and the bun was soft and doughy. While the other roll was good, its predominant chive flavor wasn't to my taste, though I can understand its appeal to others. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his burger, especially the house-made sauce they serve it with. Our waiter, Mychal, kindly provided an additional side of the sauce when he discovered how much he loved the sauce, which did not go to waste as we used it on the extra bread available. Mychal's service was excellent and his warm, engaging demeanor significantly enhanced our dining experience. The restaurant's small and quiet atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed lunch where we could enjoy our conversation. Additionally, the prices were quite reasonable for Boston, with a $19 lobster roll being an exceptional find. This was my first time dining at Eventide Fenway, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Our server was not helpful when it came to explaining the menu and even provided incorrect information regarding ingredients. I made a point to communicate specific allergy restrictions, but the food still arrived with restricted items included -- a serious oversight that could have had dangerous consequences. When I asked questions or tried to clarify anything, the server responded with a noticeably short and dismissive attitude, which made the overall experience feel even more uncomfortable. Dining out should feel welcoming and safe, especially when dealing with allergies, but that was not the case here. Absolutely sensational. The brown butter lobster roll is the best I've ever had. The bun is almost like a bao which enables it to soak up all the butter and it's just perfect. The chowder was a great brothy chowder that is light but balanced out with whole clams and some incredible chunks of salted pork. Big fan of this place. Some of the best seafood in Boston tucked away by Fenway. If you haven't tried their lobster roll it's a must - they make it with brown butter and it's unlike anything I've had before. It was quite busy due to the tall ships on a beautiful and sunny Saturday afternoon, but I was happy to have made reservations a week prior. This restaurant is known for an eclectic Asian seafood cuisine, but they also have a few meat options such as a duck breast which was recommended for larger parties to share. Since it was just the two of us, we did have some cocktails which I thought were OK not great. What we did enjoy were the Japanese fried chicken, I highly recommend this and it was perfect for two people to share. The pan roasted dayboat scallops were also delicious but a little bit on the salty side, and the roasted beet salad was also good, but lacked some savory notes. Due to the unexpected wait, they actually comped our dessert which was very nice of them. Overall, I did enjoy this restaurant and really liked the view of the tall ships. I think if we decided to come again, we would probably come back on either a weeknight or maybe in the fall/winter. It can be pretty expensive as well but I do feel this restaurant is of quality. The crab ravioli dish was excellent. Super light and thin pasta filled with cheese and featured a light broth with green peas. For the main course, the black cod was excellent. Loved the contrasting crispy skin along with the super light and buttery fish. The grilled pork chop was also excellent. We ordered: Row 34 oysters, clam chowder, lobster bisque, mussels, fried shrimp, crab cake, peach feta salad, swordfish, crab pasta, and berry cake In the beginning we got two bottles of house hot sauces - green and red. I swear both are not spicy at all. It comes with very very very mild heat but a ton of fresh vegetable flavors and umami plus sweetness. I drizzled both on most of my dishes for fun. I think we got new bottles, and by the end of the meal, I probably used up a quarter of each bottle. Clam chowder stood out to my family the way they used a lot of beans in it rather than adding a ton of flour. I personally am not a bean person so didn't appreciate it, but they did. The lobster bisque was actually added after how much they liked the clam chowder. Mussels weren't as exciting to me but my family quite enjoyed it. I enjoyed eating the bread soaked in jus more (and drizzled a bunch of hot sauce). My personal favorite was the crab pasta. I like how sweet and light the creamy sauce was. It perfectly coated each pasta and the ingredients, making it easy for me to catch everything in one bite. The corn and crab added to the sweetness. Both are ingredients I like so I'm happy to devour the dish. The creamy starch was a good way to round out my meal. We were stuffed but still decided to try out the dessert given how happy we were with the rest of the food. We ended up getting the berry [cake]. It was a bit big and heavy and dense for a dessert. I would happily eat it for breakfast instead. It wasn't too sweet and the berries were naturally tart and sweet. The other dessert items didn't appeal to us, but at the same time makes use think that Row 34 isn't too into the dessert space. My mom wanted some hot tea at the end, so we got her the Iron goddess tea. For $5 (?), we were so impressed how it was loose leaf, and fragrant for 1.5 cups. I've had places that serve tea bags for $10 or something and it tasted bland. Shout out to our server who was still in training when we were there. She was helpful in providing recommendations based on dishes she's tried herself and comments she's heard from other guests. FYI toilets are back in the Commonwealth Hotel.
