I took my children here. We ordered Butter chicken, coconut Jorma and Everest curry. We got them all mild because of the children. The kids didn't like Everest. I did though. They really liked the coconut korma, as it was almost sweet. I found the flavors very rich. We really liked this place and are glad to have it in the neighborhood. 2 Nan and the 3 curries fed 2 adults and 3 children so be careful to not over order. The street side sign promoted their Buffet Lunch, Monday-Saturday for $9.99. Not a permanent sign, a plastic A-frame that must be set up and taken down each day. We stop, sit down, order drinks, and order the buffet. Server: "Oh, we don't have a buffet." Us: "What about the sign out front?" Server: "We haven't had a buffet since Covid began." Fine - quit putting the buffet sign out each day. We love Indian food. Royal India is close to our home and Red Fort in St George is one of our favorites. This was an opportunity to sample multiple dishes from another restaurant. Instead, the bait and switch just turned us off. This is August 2021. Salt Lake City has been out of Covid lockdown for 3+ months. read more

This place is great. I have been here quite a few times and I have loved it, but I went for lunch and the buffet was definitely not as good. The food was old and not labeled so my friend who had never had Indian food had no idea what she was eating, and I was surprised at the poor selection. Came here for a birthday dinner and the food didn't disappoint! The staff was super friendly and made sure our water glasses stayed full. We started with fried chicken pieces with two amazing sauces...mint and tamarind. These were quickly devoured. We had a variety of dishes and all were served with fragrant basmati rice. My mom had never tried Indian food. So we were in the area looking to grab lunch and I found this via yelp and dared her to live a little. Tip: A great way to try Indian food for the first time is doing a lunch buffet. The lunch prices are usually pretty reasonable. Plus, you have lots of choices and can try a little bite of everything (then go back for whatever you really enjoy). If we hadn't known and/or planned to do the lunch buffet- we may have been off put by the service. The server didn't ask us if we wanted a menu or the lunch buffet- just what we wanted to drink- then left. Most places will welcome you to help yourself or ask you if you want a menu. Luckily we were going for the buffet, so it was fine. This place had delicious naan and butter chicken. The coconut curry chicken was great too! They had a wonderful vegetable curry dish and some tasty spicy chicken. Overall I think she enjoyed it. I do wish they had Samosa's as an option- they are my fav!! Overall this was a good experience. This is by far my favorite place for Indian food in Utah. The staff is so friendly and knows me and my family at this point because we go so much. This last visit I got my favorite chicken coconut korma. I got it mild because I can't handle heat these days. The chicken is so tender and the flavor is amazing and they load it with chicken. The rice is also always perfectly looked. I hate mushy rice or when you get hard chunks and this has never happened here and we have been a lot. My husband got his favorite this time as well the mango chicken he gets his medium. Same as mine amazing chicken and lots of it with a great taste a curry flavor with some heat and sweet but not overly sweet. So good. We also got some vegetables samosas that are again so good. The outside is nice and crispy and then super soft potatoes and veggies inside. These have so much flavor and a good saltiness that you really don't need the sauce but don't skip the sauce because it takes these babies to a whole new level. I could honestly order a few orders of these for my whole meal and be happy it when all their food is amazing might as well have a little of everything. Last but not least they have the best naan I have had anywhere. They are a really good size but we still got 5 for a table of 6 because they are that good everyone eats a ton. My mom and I actually usually share a korma when we go together so we have more room for naan. The butter naan is great and of course has a good buttery flavor but the favorites for everyone in my family are the garlic and the cheese. They are all perfectly cooked crispy and soft in the center with how thin they are I really don't know how they do it. The garlic of course has a great garlic flavor but also buttery so it's not overbearing and the cheese is stuffed with cheese. Need I say more. My autistic son who is beyond picky he eats the same 5 things everyday even loves this. We usually have to get him his own. He doesn't usually eat anything when we go out anywhere because he is so picky. Also the staff is so amazing with him. To a mom this is a huge plus. The only bad thing is everytime I go here I seem to forget to take pictures because I am so excited to eat when it gets to the table. I will remember one of these days. They also have a buffet at lunch that is way good and price is unbeatable. As you can see I love this place and tell everyone I know about it. 1000% recommend everest. read more

Legitimately the best curry I have ever had. I live 30 minutes away from here and I gladly drive the distance and pass a couple of Indian Cuisine places on the way. Like stated I normally don't eat curry that's not Thai, Burmese , Laos , or Thai , but this was so good. Wasn't too heavy and the spices and flavors was perfect. Do not order takeout. I ordered a small meal (1 app and 1 entree) through Yelp via GrubHub as a takeout order. My husband went to pick it up. While he waited--for over an hour--he spoke with five drivers from Uber eats and GrubHub, they all told him that they had been waiting at least 45 minutes and it was not uncommon for this restaurant. The food was great, but if you order from this restaurant, plan on your food taking an extra 45 minutes longer than what your app tells you. read more

Sometimes I wonder how some restaurants get so high reviews. Either people review with nothing really to compare to or I guess it just was a bad day for them.... The prices appeared to be average, but the portions are smaller. The naan bread was a bit burnt. The lassi's were fine, but they increased the price on the bill an extra $1 each. I pointed it out and they claimed it was the new price and changed it back. The service was not great. There were only two tables of customers and the server kept disappearing. It could be due to maybe only that server and a single "cook" running the place over the weekend. The food tasted fine, but the rice was dry, probably was left over from lunch. Everything else seemed to not be fresh. Like pre-done frozen goods, only heated up to serve. The kids meal was also small. Like a 20 / 80 split. 2 little peices of chicken and 80% deep fried oilly waffle fries. All the appraisers seem pricey. The "bison" dumplings (gyoza), came 10 normal sized for $11.99.... Needless to say, I will not be returning. I think the Bombay House is much better and worth the drive! read more
