It was a real facial workout chewing the beef haha. Though it wasn't as savory and meaty as I'd hoped, it was still a satisfying entree. Chili Pork Wontons (~$10 for 8pc): 4/5. Wontons were cooked well, drenched in mildly spicy chili oil, and topped with green onions. I liked that it wasn't the tingly type of spice. A yummy appetizer for sure. Egg Custard Sesame Balls (~$9 for 3pc): 5/5. These were great! They're served piping hot and filled with liquid gold. The dough had a nice, chewy texture. The filling is a yolky, not-too-runny, perfectly sweetened custard with a hint of salt. Tasty when fresh, at room temp, or even warmed up the next day. My only gripes are that they're pretty pricey and a bit greasy. Service: 5/5. Andy was welcoming and helpful. He patiently answered all my questions and offered to take my order over the counter when both self-serve kiosks were busy. Food came out in a decent time considering the many orders they received during lunchtime. Atmosphere: 5/5. Leaving this review after an almost bad experience to help the restaurant or anyone else that may have eaten here today. 5 stars for fixing the problem immediately for us. We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. This place is not like a Panda Express. Their food taste like authentic dine-in quality even though it's set up as a fast food and take out kind of place. I came with my family here and ordered a bunch of dishes. I got the crispy beef, mapo tofu, XLB, honey walnut shrimp, spicy chili chicken, Santa's favorite kids meal, and the egg custard sesame balls. Overall, the presentation of the food was very nice. Their white rice was good quality rice. My favorite was the spicier chili chicken because it has Szechuan peppercorn flavor in it and I love Szechuan style. Their mapo tofu was also unique as they also incorporate black beans in their sauce and also has a Szechuan spice to it. The quality of the food was just impressive like their honey walnut shrimp. My son enjoyed the kid's meal as it included a little fun holiday gift box. That kids meal seems more like an adult portion meal to me. The place is clean and well lit. Never been here, but the kids recommended it for me and my wife to eat here. Did not disappoint. In fact, it passed expectations. You from an automated screen and you take a number sensor device. You choose your own table to sit at and place the device on it. There is a small area where you get your utensils, plates, condiments, and drinks. Then you will hear the robot announcer that it is coming to the table number and it brings the food to you. The robot has a few shelves on it so it tells you which is your food. It was so cool. Simple process from ordering on the kiosk, grabbing a number, seating yourself, and getting food delivered straight to your table by a robotic server. Staff is always super friendly and helpful and very understanding and communicative when you're not pleased with your experiences. My co-workers came here a couple time and really enjoyed the food they ordered. Orange Chicken - tasted clean with white meats and not heavy with batters like some other places. Stir Fried String Beans were soft and freshly crispy. Crispy Beef was a hit. Order at the counter and pay. Self-served drinks and they have to-go bags by utensils area so you don't have to ask. My first experience here was amazing and I wanted my Godson to experience it. This time was underwhelming disappointing and downright unacceptable! We waited over an hour for our food. Our fried rice got cold because they brought that out first and waited. 30 more minutes for three spring rolls. Then had to wait again 30 minutes for some damn dumplings. Saw postings for this place when it first opened but did not have the opportunity to visit until recently. If you're ordering take out, there are kiosks to the side that you can use, or you can order at the counter. If you're dining in, QR codes are on each table for you to use and order. With the ongoing deal, we ordered the chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken, pork potstickers and pork soup dumplings. The order also came with 4 soups (we opted for soup instead of drinks) and 4 bowls of white rice. We separately order a chow mein for variety. Once you are seated, you grab your own plates and utinsils by the drink station. Napkins, takeout boxes, bags, are also available but theyr'e all self service. Food - I would say, but for the promo at $49.95, it is a bit pricey for what you get. The taste are good, somewhat standard and what you would expect. Definitely a place to try if you are just hungry and don't want to get stuck on a waitlist or some line. Everspring is such a peculiar restaurant when it comes to the spectrum of Chinese food. It is absolutely higher quality and tier than your typical American Chinese fast food. It's not quite the authentic nostalgic immigrant restaurant your aunties go to given the location, menu selection, and prices. But the flavors are a far-cry from the taboo "fusion" restaurants that suggest appropriation. And to be honest, despite the chairs, QR menus at tables, and gimmicky robot it still doesn't feel like a sit-down restaurant given all the disposable plates and utensils. What Everspring DOES do is something different that's kind of pays respect to all the above. Highly recommend the shaken beef, either sit-down or taken out as it held it's texture after being reheated. I will likely order it again. read more

Dinner, not busy at all. It's like a take out joint with table service. You order with a QR code at the table. Ordered mapo tofu, crispy beef, pork dumplings and spring rolls. Mapo tofu had some great heat and a slight numbing kick. Crispy beef was at the bottom of the list, super thin slivers of beef that were tough and chewy, basically bad beef jerky. Hate to say it but Panda Express Beijing Beef is much better. Dumplings were okay, juicy as expected, acceptable. Spring rolls/ egg rolls were crispy nothing to rave about. 3 for 8 bucks. Food comes out in paper bowls, and they give you paper plates. The overall dining experience is pretty lack luster, the concept is confusing. Is this a take out place or a sit down place. Why have table ordering with food runners if you are serving stuff on paper plates. Why not just order at the front and serve it in takeout containers. Overall, the whole experience was okay. We decided to come here because we saw so many ads on instagram. We came in on a Sunday for lunch and literally no one was inside dining in. I liked the whole concept of ordering on your phone and the food will be brought to you. The food was quick and the staff was overall really nice. The robot delivering food was pretty cool, but honestly, it's just a gimmick. Also, all the food was given in disposable plates, bowls, and utensils (a lot in plastic). I just wish they can just use regular dining sets for those who opted to dine in instead of takeout. The food was definitely just okay... We decided to get the mapo tofu, which was good but it was definitely missing some pork or beef for a depth of flavor. We also got the soup dumplings (crab and pork) and the pork chili wontons. For both, the skin was just a bit too thick. We couldn't really taste the crab in the soup dumplings and there definitely wasn't enough pork filling in the wontons. However, the spices and the sauce for the wontons were great and it wasn't too spicy. The best part was the egg custard sesame balls. They were freaking delicious! It was like biting into a crispy mochi ball with sweet egg yolk custard inside. Honestly, we would come back just for this item alone! I think this is better than what you get in any other dim sum places around! However, it was just a little expensive for what you get. I liked how everything was organized from the utensils/condiments, to the to go bags, to the ordering. You order on a big tablet-type screen. The ordering was super easy, you order on the screen. It was super fun that the food got delivered via robot. The food was really good. I ordered the orange chicken with a side of rice. It tasted super fresh with a taste of sweet orange and chilis. I really liked how it didn't taste super deep-fried and it was good quality. Also the portions were really big--I took half home and it made a delicious lunch! I also loved how they use plates and utensils that are eco-friendly...but they are super sturdy at the same time. Just a cool little touch. We've eaten here several times now and honestly, the food has been great every time. I was skeptical at first given the "modern Chinese" description and the general minimalist look of the place, thinking it would end up being a very Westernized Pick Up Stix kind of place but actually, the food comes out pretty authentic with the "wok hei" taste. We've gotten the orange chicken, the sesame chicken, the string beans, the crispy beef and the mixed vegetables. Between the sesame chicken and the orange chicken, the sesame chicken is better. One some days, the batter is a smidge hard on the fried items but it has been better. All of the items can be made non-spicy. The green beans are not super salty and are flavorful even when it's not spicy. Portions are generous and prices are competitive. The robot delivery system has been a little chaotic. One time, it kept delivering everyone's food to our table (but you can easily send it back to the docking area) and another time, it literally came right up onto our table. However, for the most part, it works fine. Your drinks and plates (and takeout containers) are all self serve which I actually really like because it does help to keep costs down - tips, operating costs, etc. I don't mind clearing my own table and all. read more

We had a really disappointing experience with EverSpring Modern Chinese. Yesterday, we called to ask about gluten-free options for Christmas Day (gluten allergy + dairy-free). We were told they could accommodate gluten-free orders, and the instructions were: place the order through DoorDash, then call and tell them which items need to be gluten-free. So today we did exactly that -- placed the DoorDash order and immediately called. That's when the story completely changed. We were told only the fried rice and string beans can be made gluten-free, no substitutions, and the order cannot be cancelled. This is not what we were told on the phone yesterday, and it left us stuck with an order that doesn't meet our needs. To make it worse, the "fix" was basically just adding an extra order of rainbow chicken -- which wasn't the problem. The problem was being told they could accommodate gluten-free across the order and then being told after the fact that they can't (and that we can't cancel). If you have a gluten allergy or any dietary restrictions, do not rely on what you're told over the phone. Get it in writing, confirm item-by-item before ordering, or pick a place with a clearly defined gluten-free process. We won't be ordering again. read more

Cripsy Beef is the signature menu of EverSpring Modern Chinese restaurant, and as the name suggests, it has a crispy texture and good taste. However, it is a little salty, so it is better to eat it with rice. EverSpring Modern Chinese restaurant does not sell beer, but if they did, it would be a good beer snack. Veggie Potstickers are cooked in the Japanese Gyoza style, and it tasted very bland and healthy. I like bland food, so it was great for me, but people who do not like bland food may not like it. At EverSpring Modern Chinese restaurant, you order at the kiosk at the entrance, take the number marked plastic stick bar to the table, and wait, and the robot will bring the food to your table. On to the important stuff: the food. I don't recommend ordering Crispy Beef Sticks for takeout, turned rock hard by the time we got home. Ended up in the trash after one small serving each. The Rainbow Shrimp with fruit cocktail tasted a little like honey walnut shrimp, it wasn't bad but nothing to get excited about. Overall, I wasn't impressed. Now huge thanks to fellow Elite Dave L, I didn't know that they didn't have real chefs and utilize AI technology in the kitchen? I work in tech so everything is AI and continue to evolve. But I just didn't expect that AI would end up in restaurants cooking our food for us? Their website claimed "where tradition meets innovation in every bite". It's located off El Camino Real, there's parking in the plaza but it can be difficult to find parking during prime time hours. Restrooms are in the back and are refreshingly clean. We ordered the beef cup, fresh shrimp spring roll, soup dumplings and tofu. I would order the beef cup and soup dumplings all over again! Note - we came on a Friday evening, we walked into a pretty empty restaurant and after some time, people started strolling in. Not sure what happened but one of our orders got lost in the mix and we inquired multiple times about it. The server had to print out our orders to confirm what was received and after figuring out what we didn't get (even after telling her what we didn't get), they finally fixed the problem.
