We found parking on the square; interior is small but we were seated right away. The smells that hit me when I entered and the cheesecake on display definitely enhanced my hunger. The service was a bit slow; however, the food was worth waiting for. The homemade brat was tasty, perfectly cooked and the sauerkraut was abundant and flavorful. I wish I'd save room for the cheesecake but I need to come back to try the schnitzel!!

Service was atrocious. Waited 15 minutes before our server came to the table. We were getting ready to leave. 3-4 servers stood chatting with each other by the cash register and doing nothing while we sat there. Our table was 5 fr away and in sight. Other tables weren't getting much attention but at least they had drinks. It's 100 degrees outside so at least could someone have offered water?????? Table next to us had 6 people and 2 servers were tripping over themselves to attend to them at any one time. Raves about the Weiner Schnitzel in other reviews made us order two different versions. Came with a tasty salad. Jaeger Schnitzel and Everything Schnitzel. The Jaeger Schnitzel was dry and the gravy was salty. The Everything Schnitzel was more tasty and not as salty. Highlight was the red cabbage. Asked another server for a beer refill right before the food was delivered and it arrived by another server half way through our meal. I was never offered a refill on my iced tea. Server never came back until it was time to bring the check. We had sat there for 10 minutes waiting for her. By this time probably half the restaurant had cleared out. She asked me about deserts and asked for 2 to go. We had already been there 2 hours and didn't feel like sitting around another hour waiting on her for a desert. My husband left and went to the car. Thought that may speed things up. She stood by the cash register chatting with other servers while I waited for the deserts and a revised check. She finally brings them in separate boxes and I ridiculously ask for a bag. Took another 5-6 minutes before another server brought it. Definitely WILL NOT go back!!!!

In this neck of the woods, Eve's is a treasure you would not expect to find. The food is outstanding. I felt like I was at my Grandma's dining room table. The staff was top notch, they took time to talk and make the experience that much better. read more

We went here on the advice of one of my wife's friends. It seems she gives good advice. :) The place is cozy and whimsically decorated. I wholeheartedly recommend the schnitzel and the red cabbage. Both were great. You get a bowl of sauce even with the wienerschnitzel. Get a jaegerschnitzel and you get mushrooms in the sauce. The schnitzels were big, tasty and dry. Cooked perfectly. I am willing to travel for good German food. Add this restaurant to Fredericksburg's Der Lindenbaum as worth a trip. read more

Had a super delicious Reuben, seriously it was to die for. Took a while to come out, but you can't rush art. They also had some really killer looking cheesecake in the display, but I was too full to try any. Would like to come for dinner some time and go all out with a meal, beer, and dessert. read more

Really worth the day trip. And now that we live nearby this is our favorite weekly place. And we take all visitors* to Eve's for schnitzel. 10 Stars!! Every time I have been here the food is amazing. Portions are large. Prices are reasonable. The employees are happy and friendly. Everything tastes garden fresh and homemade. The coffee is amazing. It brought me back to my time in Germany. Full color memory! It is that authentic. The desserts are homemade and delicious. Eve's Cafe is a quaint little cafe that brings Germany to the Hill Country. It is a must stop when driving through Lampasas located on the northeast corner. The food was wonderful and reminded me of our trip to Germany and all of the wonderful food. We had the specialty salad and schnitzel with red cabbage. Their waitstaff was very attentive. All the other reviews did not lead us astray! Excellent, authentic German food. I had The Works schnitzel with spätzle and they were both Devine. Hubby throughly enjoyed the daily special of Pablano schnitzel. Teenage daughter could even find a complaint (which is rare) with her Bratwurst and sauerkraut. We all saved room for dessert of raspberry and mocha cheesecake and Black Forest cake. Had to take it home to finish, but now so looking forward to leftovers! Only negative thing I have to say is that it's not open on Sunday so we can eat there again when traveling back home! read more

I would've given this place 5 stars if we hadn't had to wait 45 minutes for our food. It was for lunch on a Saturday, every table was taken, and there was a help wanted sign in the window...so I knew it wouldn't be quick but I didn't think it'd be so s.l.o.w. That said - the food was absolutely outstanding. Three of us had variations of the schnitzel and my daughter had a grilled Nutella sandwich (you read that right) and ALL of us were happy with our meals. It was about worth the wait. Service was generally good and attentive with drink refills. But the longer we were there, we seemed to become part of the furniture. Only when our hot food came out did they realize they never brought our salads. The food and the apologies made it all better. read more

One of the best restaurants in Lampasas, TX. It's German food and very good at that. I've been multiple times and it's always got a crowd. My favorite is the Jagerschnitzel and it's always come out very good. I highly recommend eating there as everyone I've been with has always been happy no matter what they order. read more

Awesome restaurant! Eve's is from Germany and they even have great German Beer! We eat here an every week and love it! Must visit when you come to Lampasas! Don't forget to have the cheesecake it is freshly made. Amazing!!!!!!! read more

I just had the worst service at Eve's Cafe that I've ever had in my life. It was a busy day, so my group was ready to wait. We were not ready to be ignored after we were seated for 30 minutes. There was no menu, no silverware and no water or any kind of person. We saw some menus and got some for ourselves. Fifteen minutes after that (so that's 45) a person arrived and asked for drink orders (we all had water). The waitress took our order and then we didn't see or hear from anyone for another 30 minutes. (We were having sandwiches) A different person came up and said she had noticed us sitting and waiting and our order would be right out. Not so-we didn't see out food for another 20 or 30 minutes! Add the wait time to get in and it was almost 2 hours! Frankly, I was so mad that I didn't enjoy the food...I just wanted to get out of there. I never saw anyone in charge. Horrible service. read more

Very crowded place no where to sit or stand while waiting for your tables I got yelled at by a rude waiter telling me I couldn't stand there I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do no other place to go they should perhaps add a waiting area and not yell at the customer. read more

I am totally in love with their pineapple burgers. Family and friends have tried numerous other items and they were all superb. Their cheesecakes...? WOW! Totally decadent. Great atmosphere, great location (town square), and great staff. Only issue is the the prices; it's a bit high we all thought. read more

Stopped in on our way back to Austin. This is a little gem in Lampasas! Great German good, superb service! I had the Rueben and it was great, my husband had the schnitzel sandwich which was awesome too. But the shining star was the German Potato Salad! One of the best I've ever had! My husband and I heard about Eve's from a neighbor and as I grew up in Germany and my husband is now a confirmed Teutonophile he decided that he wanted to eat at Eve's for his 50th birthday. We drove up from Austin to do so and it was worth every mile. The flavors were excellent, the Käse-Rahm Kuchen was on point and the Schnitzel...well, what can I say. I wish I could keep those flavors in my mouth. Schmeckt sehr gut. read more

Schnitzel with onions and mushrooms as well as the spaetzle was really good. Between the six of us, we had four deserts. Everyone was amazed by the cheese cake and the apple and cherry strudels! The service was as good as the food. Even the back-of-the-house staff were friendly when you crossed paths. read more

We live in Round Rock and love to eat at small cafes. We have driven the 50 miles to eat at Eve's a few times. The food is Fantastic, service was great, and the Black Forest Cake was packed with cherries! We have only gotten German food so far, but their burgers looked amazing. It is a Thursday special, they don't have burgers all the time. We are looking forward to our next trip back to Eve's Cafe read more

Amazing find in downtown Lampasas. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and informative of must try's on the menu. Very nice selection of German beers at very reasonable prices. Homemade dill salad dressing with fresh greens is a must. Lunch portions are huge and delish. House made desserts looked so good that even a full belly could not resist. Happened upon this place on our journey from Austin to Fort Worth. Loved it! It's a very happening spot so there was a little bit of a wait, but the side salad with yummy dressing tided us over. We had the special, white asparagus schnitzel, and a burger and found it all to be very good. The bread was fresh baked by a local bakery. Whatever you do, don't leave here without dessert. The key lime cheesecake was was fluffy and light. All the desserts looked great. Enjoy! read more

Great German restaurant and probably one of the top 3 places to eat between Kempner and Lampasas. Other reviews talk plenty about the schnitzel, and it is good. I like the Jagerschnitzel and I really like the salads with the in-house made dressing. One non-German treat that is worth checking out: on Thursday, Eve's does a burger special. They are great, fresh beef and a variety of about a half dozen to choose from. The burgers are huge--you won't leave hungry! With some fries and a salad, it's a great lunch. I also very much like their desserts, which rotate and are made daily, so once that day's cheesecake is gone, that's it. They also have some really good pasteries. read more

Recently moved from So California to Lampasas Texas. California has lots of high end, low end Mom and Pop, fast food or anything and everything in between. But I must say my son and I went there for lunch today. Absolutely thrilled with the food, and the service was amazing. The young gentleman that served us had only work there since January. Very knowledgeable very kind and considerate. Also the other servers would check on our table just to provide us with excellent service. This is one of the only two decent restaurants in Lampasas. I didn't even know I liked German food, but it's great. Their schnitzels are excellent, the french fries are awesome and the chocolate pie is heavenly. Oh, and the secret recipe salad dressing is amazing. I just wish they were open on Sunday!!! read more

My husband and I went to Eve's Cafe for the first time today. The food was very good and our server, Derek, was excellent! He took the time to explain the menu options to us. We took a piece of Almond Roca cheesecake home and it was fantastic!!! We will definitely be back. read more
