I was looking forward to trying this but unfortunately did not make it in the front door. I can't review the quality of the food but I can review the quality of service. While walking into the door I was abruptly stopped by someone who was dressed in street clothes. The person put their hand over the door and told me they could not seat me for another 30-40 minutes. Bottom line, it was just rude and abrupt behavior and not the way you should treat a customer. I am in town regularly and will never come back to this place and will let everyone know about the terrible customer service. read more

We were just passing through Lampasas, hungry for some good food and decided to try Eve's due to the excellent reviews. And we were not disappointed! Everything was delicious, from the rouladen (on special) to the schnitzel and all the sides too! My mom had the rouladen, which was super tender, and I loved my schnitzel which was topped with onions, mushrooms, and bacon. We all (mom, dad, & I) enjoyed the salad with the house dill dressing, and found the spätzle noodles and red cabbage to be tasty as well. And we're so delighted to each have enough leftover that we can enjoy for lunch tomorrow. Oh, and we shared a piece of Milano cheesecake which was positively scrumptious! My wife loves German food. Therefore, I eat German food occasionally. Yesterday, when we were camped in Lampasas, she Googled and found a German restaurant. We read reviews on Eve's Cafe which were all very positive so, we decided to try it out. We both had tossed salad, schnitzel, red cabbage, potato salad and ice tea. As you might theorize, I'm not a big fan of German food but this was delicious! I don't know why we didn't have to wait in line to be seated like at the Blue Bonnet in Marble Falls. I can't say enough about this little place. The food was some of the best I ever had, the staff, especially our waitress, Stefani, were very friendly, helpful, outgoing, and the prices were reasonable. My wife, 3 children and I came in to eat yesterday evening. My wife and I are both medically exempt from the mask mandate and our 3 girls are all under 10 years old. We came to Lampasas to bury our baby girl Laikken who was killed by a drunk driver. We were met at the front door by a very rude waitress saying we needed a mask to enter, after we informed her of our exemption she proceeded to get even more rude saying that she'd have to speak with an owner first. My wife is in a wheelchair due to the accident. Never before have I encountered someone so rude and hateful towards someone's disabilities. read more

After an early morning hike to Gorman Falls we ended up at Eva's on our way back home for lunch. Bratwurst and red cabbage were great! Husband had one of the sandwiches....don't remember which one.....buy he was pleased with it. Chocolate pie was AWESOME! I would go back just for that. Only 4 stars because I thought with all of the other made from scratch items offered that the potato chips and fries should be too. Nothing wrong with them just the part of the meal that wasn't impressive. Staff was friendly, attentive and overall positive attitudes. I know this may seem like a weird thing to include in a review but being a clean freak, I was surprised at how clean this place was. No dusty corners or vents, no crumbs on the floor or the chairs, no dust on the pictures on the wall. There is one shared bathroom and it was spotless! Guys...it is soooo good. My wife and I stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner after spending the day at Colorado Bend State Park. I had the zwiebel schnitzel with red cabbage and German potato salad. It was absolutely delicious! My wife had the "supreme" sandwich (ham, turkey, salami, melted cheddar, provolone & veggies on grilled sourdough w/ mustard) and cheese spätzle on the side. If you want to sample this drool-inducing sammie, show up early, because they stop serving sandwiches after 5pm. My boyfriend and I were traveling through lampasas from Austin and stopped here for dinner. The restaurant is on the square of the town with a beautiful view of their courtyard. There was a very short wait, we were kept company by the owner himself who was very friendly and socialable which made the time go by very fast. I had the schnitzel with brown gravy and mushrooms. Every bite was amazing! It was breaded perfectly not too thick not too thin just right!!! The gravy was very flavorful and prepared spot on! My boyfriend had I think the chopped salad. It was a very generous portion with fresh leaves and plenty of toppings. For dessert I had their made from scratch key lime pie. Let me tell you, I've had my fair share of key lime pies in my life as it is my favorite dessert... Nothing compared to this one! It wasn't too sweet which I really liked and was more of a mouse texture, very fluffy and light. I ate the entire giant piece by myself and took another slice to go! The service was very good. Overall, Eve's Cafe is a great spot! It's cute and quaint with a nice menu. The young staff could have been a touch friendlier, but as a former teenage server, all is forgiven. The schnitzel was not even close to a favorite for me, but the spaetzle and house salad were incredibly delicious! My husband enjoyed his schnitzel but mine was just far too thick. Very disappointed in service and serve time. 2 days in a row it took over 40 minutes to get food. First day we called in our order (all sandwiches) at 11:45 as we are working at the courthouse this week and it still took 40 minutes to get our food. The next day we opted to walk over, placed an order of 4 sandwiches again, surprisingly it still took 40-45 minutes to get our order. These were not complicated sandwiches and no special requests so I don't think I it should have taken 40-45 minutes for food. Went in on a Sunday around 3. The place was packed. We actually had to wait about 15 minutes to get a seat which we were fine with. The gentleman was very nice and said we should visit some of the other shops while we wait and he would come and find us when a table opened, which he did. You could tell customer service was his top priority. We sat down and looked over the menu. They are not gluten free friendly which is important to me since I have a wheat allergy. The only thing I could order was the Chef Salad. The Chef salad was full of the extra's like cheese, ham, tomatoes but very light on the greens. I thought there should be more greens. The rest of my party enjoyed their food. The portions were small but filled them up. I was still hungry after eating my salad. My group said the cheese cake was phenomenal. It took us an hour to get our food. I was so hungry by the time we got our food I was feeling sick. I don't know if this is the normal wait time or not but if I ever go again I will have a snack first. Our server was very nice. I was eating my husbands salad since I was so hungry and she stopped by to let me know I ordered a chef salad and it would come out with the meals but I was too hungry to wait. What was upsetting to me was that they asked two different tables of two that were sitting at tables for four and had finished their meal, to move to smaller tables to accommodate two groups of four that had just come in. It was only about 5 or 10 minutes later that several other tables became available for the new arrivals. It was apparent that no one needed to be relocated. read more
