So it was that time to get brakes on my Jaguar F-Pace. This is the first time I owned a Jaguar, and first time ever having to get both front and rear brakes done. Nick and his team are just the best. They take care of everything on my 1995 Defender, and have helped me take a pretty rough used truck and make it into my dream vehicle. They also charge honest rates, and never try to upsell me on things I don't need. I wanted to blow money on a new set of brake calipers, and Nick convinced me to just let them clean and repair the existing, and they are perfect. He could have just let me add a few thousand dollars in charges to his bill, but he did the right thing and recommended I stick with the original parts. Not many mechanics would do that. Imagine you go to start your beloved and trusty 7 year old Range Rover only to find the long rumored electrical gremlins have finally caught up to it. You cannot even unlock the car because the battery is totally dead. Well that's what happened to us when we were jumping on the car for my wife's first day back to work after her maternity leave. Not a great situation. We jumped the car only to find things weren't working right and the nav system was totally inoperable. I couldn't run the risk that she goes to work and gets stuck out there in bad weather if the system has a massive drain. I had heard rumors that one of the best service managers I have EVER had in all my years owning vehicles across different brands was a part of a new shop in Campbell. I reached out to find that Nick was indeed there! What luck! We worked out a schedule that worked for the shop and our schedule. I asked Nick to try to figure out a way to get the work done in a day if possible as we cannot be without the vehicle. Today, he not only assessed the issue, but he went ahead and managed to resolve it for us. He also checked out a long standing issue we've had with the sunroof being jammed. The quote for the sunroof was clearly broken down to parts and labor, and his assessment was honest -- it's a lot to swallow if we do not plan to use the roof. We held off, and he gave us all the info on parts should we decide to do it later. If you have a Land Rover or Jaguar, or heck, any car that Nick and the team could help with, this shop is simply the place you need to go. My family lives a pretty fast paced, busy lifestyle, and we really have little time on our hands to deal with car issues. Highly recommend Nick and his team. I called around to see how much a 40,000 mile service would cost for my Defender. The first place I called the advisor told me it would cost me at least $700 and was really short with me. I called EBE and spoke with Nick and he was great.
