As usual....we had such a fun time. This is probably about our 10th time at this location. Everyone is always so nice. Michael helped us out today and he made this another positive experience. I wish new ones would come out more often! Im always so excited to try out new ones, so I check the website quite often. Looking forward to the next escape room.

My family had so much fun here. We had our brains running at max speed and we jumped and laughed a lot everytime we succesfully solved a hint or unlocked a lock. The Butcher room was fun, its set-up was one-of-the-kind that I have not seen at other escape room locations. You should try. We ESCAPED tho :) Gigi was super nice and helpful. She gave us a weekday promo code to save some $ and also guided us through out the game when we got stuck for too long. This place is highly recommended for family bonding and friends. Prices are considered reasonable and even cheaper than other locations.

I thought the signs in their bathroom were funny.

Recently did two rooms at this location because we had a relative visiting. We started off with their spy vs spy--which we really enjoyed, and their wizard room. Both rooms were entertaining, and we enjoyed our visit. Shout out to our game masters Chris and Mike (I think that was their names, sorry if it isn't). They both throughly explained our games and made us enjoy it even more. Enough to where we ended up signing up for another game.

Place is a little hard to find, but it's near the Elk Grove Food Bank. Chris was our game master. Our group did the Spy vs Spy game. Loved everything from the start. Chris was awesome and funny! What a great way to do team bonding.

Ask the Community - Exit Strategy Games

Does an adult need to be present in the room or can a group of minors play?

Minors can play alone as long as their legal parent or guardian signs their waiver (required for all players).

Is there an age limit to the escape games?

We don’t have an age limit, as long as the minor has their parent or guardian sign their waiver. We do have age recommendations though. 8 and up for Pet Snatched or Grandma’s Christmas Caper. 10 and up for Woodbury’s Wizarding School. 13 and up for… Read more

Probably more than 25 locks across the different scenes. One of the combination locks had letters so worn away it was very hard to read, so we spent 10 minutes with what we thought were the correct letters, only for a staff to point out that we had it on B when we all thought (4 of us looked at it) that it was on R. The paint on the B was worn off so it looked like an R. I told two staff about the letters being worn away, and neither of them seemed to care. Had they just said "Thanks for letting us know, we'll look at getting a new lock" that would have been good customer service. There is another review here mentioning "apathetic staff" and I think that's exactly what I experienced. Staff should inspect those items, in the dark as customers experience it, to see when things are worn out so as not to be readable. Not being able to see or read the objects should not be the challenging part of an escape room. Replacing a $5 padlock is better than a customer having a bad experience (with the room and with the staff) and never wanting to come back again. Overall, again this was my first escape room experience, but when the puzzles almost entirely rely on combination locks, that to me doesn't seem very imaginative. Granted it's not easy to find all the combinations, but it gets kind of boring keep figuring out letters and numbers for the sake of opening locks. If I ever do another escape room, I'll probably try it at a different business.

Best Fun With Your Pants On! (And A Mask, Cause Covid n' Sh*t)…read more SITREP Adorable friends Bambi and Kristen were PISSED cause their more formal Bday Dinner parties were being pushed down cause of covid and friends' concerns. Enter "Escape Folsom" who provided a more engaging social interaction for those of us willing to take the risk with the Spirit & Heat of the 1800s 49ers Miners and Saloons! THE SETUP The whole idea of escape rooms is to put together a small group of people - ideally about eight (8)? - and give us some basic cryptic instructions on how we escape a room / wing of a building / structure. Some of these clues were MORE than cryptic. We were thrown into what looked like a bar from the 1890s in Old Sacramento. Old Register. Old timey phone. Old bar tops and stools. And yet some more modern items like a cigarette machine and a jukebox from the 60s. * Any string of numbers we saw could be a clue, such as the numbers we spotted on the telephone and the jukebox; * Any weird box with a number lock hold a clue if we could just unlock the lock; * And repeating songs we heard containing digits could hold the answer too. It took a some time trying to figure out what numbers went to which locks, and which items needed to be unlocked in sequence with reference to the other items. Yada Yada Yada, we DID IT! With 8 minutes of our hour left! THE BAR Escape Folsom's bar is legit. Post up. Grab a drink while you wait for the rest of your crew to show up. Or even host a quick birthday - like we did - for our friends Bambi and Kristen when we finally finished our escape - in their comfy bar nooks and rooms. GOOD TIMES. THE LOWDOWN Escape rooms are a fun way to engage each other with some energetic conversations and some *highbrow* puzzle solving! Escape Folsom is a great diversion on a hot day!

The place gets packed and is pretty lively. They have a full bar and some really good Mexican food! I ordered a few tacos, carnitas and sweet corn, and they were both delicious! The tacos came as 3 small street tacos so you definitely want to order more than one if you're really hungry. Friends tried some of the other taco options and a few quesadillas. Everyone was really happy and enjoyed their food. Will definitely be coming back for more food, fun, and trivia!

I've visited Old Sacramento many times over the last 7 years, and have done many escape rooms…read more Little did I know that there was such a facility right under my nose. It has an inconspicuous entrance and a very minimalistic lobby. I'm not sure if it is on purpose, but I wish there was a bit more thought put into the areas leading up to the rooms. I usually use the production value of the front to predict the quality of the rooms when I visit an escape room facility for the first time. The gamemaster was very nice and did an amazing job with the intro monologue before we started. It was so much longer than I've experienced in the past, and the fact that he did it all off memory was impressive. Without revealing too much of what's in the room itself, I'll say that I wish there were more puzzles to solve. I caught myself standing around on multiple occasions, and I usually don't have that problem. Nonetheless, the tech behind some of the props and puzzles was cool, and I was absolutely vibing with some of the music. We were able to escape with several clues (thank goodness we used clues) and got a good triple Valentine's Day date pic out of it. Currently in another escape room phase, so down to visit again to try escaping something else.

I've done both available escape rooms (Capitol Treasure with 4 people and Haunted Train and 3…read morepeople), and I thought both were well done and enjoyable. Haunted Train was easier than Capitol Treasure.
