Came here on a Wednesday night and the place had a few people coming in so it wasn't packed. Our server Morgan was super friendly and nice and she brought our drinks and took our order right away. We ordered the Godzilla, California, baked scallop, and I love creamy rolls. The rolls were very delicious and had a pleasant taste to them! Wow, I'm so happy my manager recommended this spot! I was craving sushi and man was I satisfied. I called an order in for their everyday special: teriyaki chicken with 2 gyoza, 4 pieces of a spicy tuna roll and a yummy salad! All that food for $11.99!! The portions were perfect too. I ate a majority of my salad, the gyoza and the sushi for lunch and was so full. I saved the chicken and rice for dinner, so really I got two meals for $11.99! The gyoza was fried perfectly and packed with flavor, but my spicy tuna roll was the star. It was deep fried and delicious. I usually don't like cream cheese in my sushi, and had I known it was in my roll I would've requested it's removal, but I didn't mind it so much in this roll. 4 pieces was a perfect amount of fish, rice and crunch. I really enjoyed the sauces they had on top too. The chicken was bit dry, so you'll be using that sauce on the side for sure. Next time I may have to ask for more. I used to frequent this place at least weekly, but over the last 6 months the quality of their food has become pretty bad... The chicken in the bento box is over cooked to the point of being dried out and rubbery, and the beef has always been strange little shards of beef jerky. My partner recently ordered the pork teriyaki and the meat was clearly on the verge of being spoiled. We sent it back and while the manager on duty graciously offered a complimentary replacement he also told us the meat tasted fine... it did not! This was basically the nail in the coffin for me, but I really liked this place and they seem to care, so I kept coming back... Last week the shrimp tempura tasted a little off and I didn't feel comfortable eating it... The chicken was again rubbery, dry, and wasn't really hot... whatever is going wrong here I hope they fix it fast... or hopefully someone who cares about providing quality food will take it over... until then I won't be back... and I'm not sure they really care... which is usually the beginning of the end... read more

For the first time this evening I finally tried out this restaurant with my mom with her suggestion after passing by it on my way home several times and we had a nice Christmas Eve dinner! I ordered their Honey Chicken Bento Box and everything was delicious, tho a bit of a kick to the honey chicken, but the white rice helped soak the spice and the sauce they use for the gyozas was very flavorful! I enjoyed the Japanese salad and the sliced cucumbers were fresh on the side and the orange slice was a nice little palate cleanser as well! To drink I ordered their Raspberry Ice Tea and it was very good and not overly sweet! I would definitely recommend trying out this restaurant, their sauces are made in house and they really have a passion for grilling their meats working 15+ years in the restaurant business! The waitress was very helpful with explaining their dishes and attentive with checking in on us as well and not to mention for the holiday it wasn't busy when we arrived so we received our meals quickly which was great! 4.5 stars would be my rating! The other downside is that I just wanted to be left alone, but each worker (besides my chef - who seemed to recognize I was content not talking) made it his/her mission to try small talk and chat with glee. When I'm in a "leave me alone mood" it's obvious. The man at the register was relentless. I walked up and handed over my card. I was the only person dining in the restaurant. If a customer doesn't want to talk, and it's not necessary, don't force the customer to talk. He asked twice if I enjoyed my dinner and asked twice why I wasn't talking. Annoying and unnecessary. For the dining experience, I probably won't be back. Others would probably be happy dining here. They specialize in creative Americanized maki rolls. Was quoted 10 minutes so my order was ready quickly. When I got home, I was incredibly disappointed. This roll was covered in a sugary sweet sauce that wasn't notated on the menu. I would have ordered something else or made modifications had I known. The provided packets of soy sauce were flavorless. The wasabi was a gross paste that also lacked any flavor.
