    BAIT AND SWITCH PRICING - AFTER 3 OR 4 MONTHS. I find this company's ethics to be terrible and they practice misleading price gouging tactics. Booked a 5x10 unit - ($74/ MONTH TO $148/MONTH ON THE 4TH MONTH). I had a budget set for my storage unit and after signing up for a 5x10 unit with a base rate of $74/month they randomly changed it to $148/ month. THEY DOUBLED MY BASE RATE IN THE 4TH MONTH WITH NO WARNING AND CHARGED MY CARD ON FILE ($74/ MONTH TO $148/MONTH ON THE 4TH MONTH). I'm leaving one star because they never mentioned anything about adjusting your monthly rate to a made up "market rate" after 3/4 months. The facility and the people I have spoken with have been great. It was super easy to get set up and into my storage unit. I would have given them 5 stars if I only used the storage unit for less than 90 days. Doubling the price with no warning or reason has me leaving them with 1 star.

    Buyer beware , company practice is get you in on a promo rate and 4 months later increase it by $100 . I booked online with no disclaimers they just sent a letter notifying rent is increasing . Classic bait and switch

    DO NOT GET A UNIT HERE for SO many reasons. 1.) there are homeless people EVERYWHERE. They camp right outside of the facility in large numbers. They are scary, aggressive and dirty. It doesn't feel safe. 2.) the staff doesn't care about their customers or their jobs. THEY ARE UNDER-QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB and need training in customer service. Their office feels like a scene from the tv show, "The Office." * quick story to give an example of their incompetence - The sprinkler system on the third floor of my building was set off, all units below the third-floor experienced flooding from the floor above. I was never notified. It wasn't until going to my unit to drop things off that I realized all of the surrounding units had been Vacated and were being dried out. When I opened my unit, I was disappointed to find my items, wet and many of them destroyed. The company did not notify me of this leak, maybe if I had been notified, I could have moved my items before they were damaged. When I ask them to waive my rent for the month due to the inconveniences, they told me they would not do so and that if I had a problem I needed to go through insurance. They moved my things to another unit, but it was smaller in size (because my previous units size wasn't available) and once again they refused to compensate me for the inconvenience or provide a larger unit for equal price. 3.) the units themselves are in terrible condition. They have a dirty smell and are termite ridden. If you have wood items that you plan on storing, think twice. 4.) the rent is OVERPRICED. The rate I signed up that was affordable, but it quickly increased to the point where I was paying almost $400 a month for a unit originally started at around $200. I could keep going but I'm SO over this place that I'm going to end this review. DO NOT RENT THERE.

I received the letter that you can see attached that they were going to increase my cost per month for this unit to $101 a month. I completely understand that they may have the legal right to do this but then I think everyone should know about it as I'm trying to let people know that if you rent from them and even a short period of three months, they'll play the bait and Switch game. If that increased my rent by $30 a month I would've been upset but not enraged. In this world, you should be building trust amongst customers, but when you do things like this, how can they trust you or am I just collateral damage that doesn't matter to you? Every single one of their customers should know this, especially if you're getting a unit that you think is at a good price, but the real reason is they're gonna triple it and say that that's the market rate which by the way I checked and that's not the market rate for a 4 x 5Ft anywhere in San Diego. I've included another image which is a screenshot from A1 Storage another provider in the area and as you can see from the image there is a promotional rate. It's states that actually mine never stated that with Marina and their normal cost for a 7 x 5foot unit is $98. That's the market rate and they're saying the market rate is $101 for a 4 x 5 to me this is price gouging. I'm glad Yelp doesn't remove reviews like Google does because they removed my last review about them on Google, which is what they do to all bad reviews so they can try to keep a good standing shame on Google for that.

The great convenience of being able to return packages here has made my life easier a number of times. This location is an important part of our little Shelter Island community, and you will be greeted with a smile and given the best customer service here. There is a very fast and convenient computer you can use to quickly access your print jobs, and the staff here have assisted me with some high quality copies of archival materials. I spent a good part of my grad school afternoons here printing documents in a rush, and I always appreciate the sense of calm the staff here contribute when I am under work or school deadlines. They are a direct moving company, not brokers, and everything they promised was honored. They gave us a flat rate and there were no surprise fees, even though loading took much longer than originally estimated. Pickup and delivery were both punctual, and Sergei, the driver and lead, was there from start to finish overseeing the whole move. The crew was careful with wrapping, disassembling, transporting, and reassembling everything, even with a second-floor apartment, lots of stairs, and tight turns. Nothing was damaged. Maria and Liza in the office were patient with all my questions and very helpful. Alex handled the in-home estimate and explained the flat-rate setup clearly. In the end, the estimate was accurate and the terms discussed were honored. Sergei was truly a pleasure to work with and made us feel at ease throughout the move. I have dropped off things many times, as Amazon, and other services have used them as a location to drop of returns. They also have a regular mail drop box for letters. When I walk in, I typically am warmly greeted by staff. I have gone a few other times for various services. When planning my last trip out of the country, I realized that my passport had expired, and I needed to do priority processing to get it quickly. I went to this Postal Plus to get my passport photos taken. It was quick and easy. Recently, I had to have a document notarized. I was happy when I called to find that the owner was a notary, and would be there and available all day. It cost $15 which I believe is the going rate. There was a long line with a few customers before me and a few after me. After all, it was the holiday season. I thought he handled the line well without making people feel rushed, however, trying to get a few of the quicker services taken care of first. Regardless, I was in and out pretty quickly and on my way. I learned that this postal stop is moving a few blocks away due to increases in rent. It is a convenient shop to have nearby.

At the time, customer service was great and I was really happy to be a customer. For a long time, I got my mail and had no issues. (Though I did often have package slips but no package) Then, in February of 2026, I got very sick, resulting in a hospital stay and major surgery. Once I got out of the hospital, I realized my payment to Mail Station hadn't come out of my business account. I called multiple times. No answer, so I left a message with my name and number explaining that I had been in the hospital, but I wanted to bring my account current if possible. I wasn't able to even walk at the time, so I couldn't go in. I never got a response. I assumed I'd changed the card on file and that my account was current, as I never heard anything. That was my mistake. In June 2026, I am finally physically functional again. I go in to check my mailbox and notice the mail inside isn't for me. I approach the counter and say, "I think my mailbox has been reassigned." They confirmed it had. I ask "Why, was I delinquent in payment?" The older man and the young woman behind the counter look me up in the system, but said they didn't know why my box was reassigned. I asked where my mail was. They didn't know that either. They asked if I had been out of town for a bit. I explained I was in the hospital getting surgery and hadn't been able to come in. I explained that'd I'd called Mail Station, and even left a detailed message with no response. They said, "Oh. Wow. Well, we don't know." So: - Mail Station closed my account without any attempt to contact me. No calls, no emails. If payment is the reason for the closure, I would've happily taken care of my account if I'd been contacted. As it stands, no one can confirm why my account was closed. - Mail Station reassigned my box without asking for the key back or changing the lock on the mailbox. This gave me access to another business' mail. That's not cool for the other business owner. I wish I remembered their name so I could let them know. - Mail Station lost, threw away, returned, or otherwise misplaced my mail but couldn't tell me anything about it. - Mail Station didn't attempt to in any way resolve the issue and I barely got an apology. They didn't even ask for the key back--I volunteered it as I never want to do business with them again and it's super unethical for me to have access to another business' mail. If you value your mail, which I assume you do since you're looking to rent a box, Mail Station is NOT your best option.
