    Goat cheese pastries

Goat cheese pastries were sooo good very creamy middle and the sauce added a nice fruity acidity. Pasta was really good and not what we expected. The sauce was more similar to a massaman curry flavor but it was very good. The homemade ricotta was really creamy but nothing crazy special flavor wise. Still really good though! Jammy eggs- similar to deviled eggs. The spice was almost a little too sour but the pistachios were really good on them and the yolks were a perfect soft boil. Server was very nice and attentive!

We stopped at Extra Virgin for dinner before a jazz show at the Gem Theatre. Rylie was our server and she was amazing at giving us the run down of all the menu items. All were simply delicious and we enjoyed trying things from each of the menu areas! We loved the Goat Cheese Bourekas, Cornish Hen with the warm spices and also the Fudgy Eggs but to be clear, everything was super delicious and fresh! This is a very vibrant and authentic place and for all we tried and two drinks, the tab was 133.00 which was surprising given we tried so many options and it wasn't Happy Hour!

Omg... I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely was not this...! I'm an extra fan! Our server was friendly and had some great recommendations. The menu just had so many things that we love and he really helped narrow things down for us. We honestly didn't expect everything to be so damn tasty! Also, the portions were so generous! We definitely ordered a little too much... haha, but we also ate everything *burp* bc we just couldn't get enough. The bone marrow was one of our favorites as were the chickpea fries! The smoked trout dip was also so, so gooood. Also, DO NOT SNOOZE ON THE GOAT CHEESE BOUREKAS!! That seasonal jam goes so well with it... I dream about those Bourekas. I'll get off my soap box now. It's my new favorite casual restaurant now. I'll definitely be back for happy hour! Also, they have all-day happy hour drinks on Tuesdays!

Made a reservation for dinner on New Year's eve during our trip to KC. We got to our table within a couple of minutes. The restaurant was sort of packed. I liked the red color themed interior, with wall arts and decor. The single page menu had appetizers, salads, seafood, pasta and meat dishes. We started with halved fudgy eggs aka deviled eggs. It had so much cilantro, paprika and other stuff on the top, totally distorted the flavor and the eggs were cold too. The lobster also similarly lacked flavor. In roasted bone marrow, I could barely find any marrow. Lots of scallion and some picked onion just thrown on top that didn't bring any enhancement to the dish. The grilled branzino was the best dish. Luckily this one had tiny herbs in controlled quantity, though again there was no real purpose for it. The service was fine overall. All staff members were friendly. Despite being busy, dishes came out in short intervals. We were done with the dinner in about an hour. But overall the food was very understanding to me, especially the enormous amount of different green garnish on top of every dish.

Excellent service. We came in on a relatively slow day during lunch. Enjoyed the vodka pasta and a side salad. They gave us a free app which was tasty and nice to try something new.

Yet another banger at EV - always delivers, always interesting, and always some wood fired goodness. Staff is amazing as usual and hooks it up on recommends.. this time we had the grilled shrimp, Moroccan zaalouk which is intense but yummy, a soup of the day (lobster), and the choco torte. Wonderful lunch after a quick road trip! Port to seal the deal with dessert and a good glass of white wine - let's gooooo

Another amazing meal at Extra Virgin! We had a great spot at a hightop near the bar. We had the MOROCCAN ZAALOUK , Soup of the day and the grilled prawns. It was all delicious, I always love the the variety and freshness of ingredients. Our server was wonderful and attentive recommended an amazing dessert wine to accompany our torte. Thanks for what you do!

Such a fun spot for a romantic meal or to catch up with friends. Such a beautiful patio to enjoy when the weather is nice or they have heaters when the weather gets chilly. The staff is great at helping to select the number of dishes and providing recommendations. The ricotta and grilled bread is a must but they have so much to try! Can't wait to come back and try more!

Such a good girls happy hour spot! The food was all amazing. We loved all the dips and thought the prices were super affordable and generous for the portion.

Food was really good. Service was mediocre, ours was weird and not very attentive. Ambiance is fun but there's too many tables pushed together.

Extra virgin has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in KC. The food is phenomenal, service is top notch and the drinks are also great. Whether it's the octopus, hummus or the chickpea fries, every dish is perfection. They also have a great happy hour!

Great food as always. Love the happy hour as some things are half off. Service is great. Dietary knowledge could better. Ambiance is nice. Love the environment

This place is one of my favorite restaurants hands down. I am never disappointed when I come here. And I appreciate that the menu is always changing. The service is alway stellar I always witness great teamwork here all the way from the GM. Come here if you're looking for good food and great vibes. You'll thank me later.

Well, Aladdin Cafe used to be our favorite gem... last night…read moreI took my wife & son to Aladdins for me and my wife's Anniversary dinner. our Appetizer the Halum cheese had been a favorite for my wife... however the cook literally just fried it in a skillet and overcooked it. previously this dish was only slightly seared on grill (Arabian cheese). Furthermore the presentation was sub par it looked as though the vinaigrette bottle ran out as they were decorating it So we had only half the normal flavor from the sauce and none of the flavor from the crumbly ovecooked cheese. We had loved the previously authentic Mediterranean lentil soup BUT this time the soup was not seasoned well! It tasted like plain lentil soup with not enough curry/ turmeric seasoning and too much black pepper and it was not blended well and it had NO shredded carrot which is Traditional for it to have! And Zero saffron flavor I also was not happy with the rosewater Lemonade w/ saffron it was not the original drink we fell in love with... This time it was an artificial lemonade no real lemon juice, too much sugar "no saffron taste" Rosewater taste was there but was off-putting in an artificially flavored dyed drink! Our main Entree was the SHISH TAOUK The chicken chunks did not have the consistency of slow cooked over charcoal chicken, the chicken was quite firm, possibly it was all breast meat? However it did taste good and authentic otherwise! my Turkish coffee was okay not exceptional. We had ordered an extra bowl of soup for son but the black pepper taste was too strong for him to eat it! With 20% tip because I do not punish a good waiter because the cook or Restaurant failed, Our bill was $75.36 needless to say without some major recipe changes and better cook we will not be back!

You feel welcomed the second you walk in, and somehow that warmth makes its way into the food too. I've tried just about every Mediterranean spot in Kansas City, and this one stands out every single time. It tastes the most authentic and the least commercial by far. Everything feels fresh, intentional, and made with care. Nothing tastes rushed or mass produced. There's real love in the food here, and you can taste it. Their dolmas especially take me right back to my grandmother's kitchen. That kind of food memory is hard to put into words, but if you know, you know. Comforting, fresh, flavorful, and made in a way that feels deeply rooted and genuine. With the World Cup approaching and so many people coming through Kansas City, visitors need to know about places like this. These are the local spots worth seeking out. The kind you leave talking about afterward and craving again the next day. And if they have the mint lemonade, order it. The rose lemonade is always incredible too. If you can get both, mix them and thank me later. A true Kansas City gem. You won't regret stopping here.

What really stood out, though, was the fava plate appetizer. It's a dip that comes with pita bread but it's not like hummus. You could eat it with a spoon. It could be a meal, a very tasty one. Not your typical round shape but more of a tube/long shape which really works great for dipping them in tzatziki. We also had grape leaves which come warm. Yummy! We had a chicken shawarma and gyro entree. Both came with rice, salad, pita, and hummus. All very good. My one criticism is I prefer my protein sliced more thinly instead of a thick cut. It's a texture issue for me. The thicker, the chewier. The chicken also had a bit of chewy skin. It could have had more flavor. Still good but this is what made my review 4 instead of 5 stars. I thought the gyro had a little more flavor than the chicken. You order at the counter and then they walk your food out to you when it's gone. Our two appetizers came out very quickly. Our entrees just a few minutes later. Service was smooth and very good. The guys working there were all friendly. Great service! The restaurant is very clean, plenty of seating, and lots of appropriate artwork. It was cold in there but it was really hot outside that day so they had the air turned up. It did make my dining in experience a bit tough since I couldn't escape sitting under an air vent but I don't really want yo criticize them much for running the air in a hot day. That's better than the alternative. On the way out I got a small variety pack of baklava and a rice pudding. Both really good! I'm still eating the baklava. I really like being able to get the variety! It's hard to choose. We would definitely go back again. On the way out, we saw 2 gentleman with gyro salads. Wow, it's a huge bowl with gyro piled high! Looked fantastic and I want to try the gyro salad now!
