I have been going to Eye Solutions for 7 years. They are awesome and have been excellent about helping me maximize my insurance. They are affordable and have a huge range of frames. I can't recommend them highly enough. Their service is speedy and their frame adjustment services are free and expert. They call you as soon as your glasses are ready and sometimes they're early. They have free snacks and phone charging ports in the waiting area, but I've literally never had to wait more than a couple minutes. read more

I've been getting my glasses and contacts here for quite some time. Each time I went back, the service seems to be getting worse. The staff are nice, but the service they provide was enough to make me think twice about coming back. They added a snack station in the back where the waiting room for the eye doctor is - I guess it's a nice gesture for new customers. The rotation of the eye doctor is pretty often, each time I visit there's always a new one, and I visit every 3-6 months. Two reasons why I was unsatisfied with Eye Solution. 1) When I came in to purchase a new frame, the staff was unwilling to give a discount, not even $20. Which shows that they don't value loyal customers which I've repeatedly told her I've been with Eye Solution for over 7 years and had countless glasses and contacts from them. 2) My fiance came for a re-evaluation of a new pair of contacts he's been wearing. The staff says it would be approximately 30 minutes wait for the eye doctor and you can also see the amount of files in the rack, which was just 2-3 person in front until it was his turn. Come 40 minutes and the staff said it would be another 30 minutes and we saw double the amount of people being called by the eye doctor. Poor management or just discriminating? Yes, I understand that certain people get more privileged service because either they know the staff personally or the staff is just being prejudice. I have bee wearing glasses/contacts lens for almost 30 years. I have been to many eye glasses shops. By far Eye Solutions is the best one. They has amazing customer service. Exchange policy is also very flexible. My contact lens was on back order the sales rep mail me additional free trail ones to make sure I have enough before my order comes in. The service here was fantastic. An excellent and stylish selection with such friendly staff to help with everything from questions about astigmatism to style tips. The young fellow with circle glasses in particular really helped my friend choose the perfect pair (given my friend is really picky and hasn't bought a new pair in six years). He was very knowledgeable, honest, and considerate about everything that needed to be taken account-- weight, frame shape, metal vs. plastic frames and how they would look with right and left differing eye prescriptions, price, and what looks good for every day wear! But everyone here definitely knows what they are doing. On top of that, the place is super organized and modern. There are free snacks and free wifi for guests too! 100% my go-to place for any eye needs. This spot definitely deserves to be the first thing you see when you step on Mott Street. This place has always been professional whenever I visit. The location has gone through a few changes such as adding charging stations, fridge with complimentary drinks, seats and tables, coffee, wifi, and snacks in the back. This reflects how much the business have grown. There is a lot of selection for glasses frames. The employees will try to push the more expensive frames your way, but you just need to be firm and tell them your price range. I trust the younger staff when giving me opinions about the frames I pick (just a preference that I've developed after many visits). The staff also will give you a phone call to tell you when the glasses are ready for pickup. And when you pick up your frames they make sure the frames are properly adjusted to the ears/face, in addition they will provide a glasses case and lens cleaning liquid. I think this is a good place to pick up glasses and get your prescription confirmed by the on-site optometrist. read more

My husband came here to get contacts. He said I should go, I assummed he went to a optician near Confucius Plaza, which are pretty dated. When we started walking over he asked where are you going? And led me down Mott St. to the best optician I handed visited in my many years. Eye Solutions is probably the largest optical store in Chinatown. Everyone was so friendly, the store was beautiful and busy. If you walk through the eyeglass showroom in front to the back there is lovely seating are with free snacks, beverages and wifi. You can wait in comfort for your appointment and even charge your phone. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable advising what the best choices for my insurance. The customer service at this place is second to none. The staff are very friendly & attentive. If you have a problem with your contacts they will exchange it for you providing you haven't opened the box. Last time I called up I asked one of the sales associates to check my insurance to see how much I could claim as I needed more contacts. She said she'd find out and call me back, she called back within 5 minutes. I haven't bought frames from them yet. I actually went in today to pick up some contacts. Told Steve one of the sales associates I wanted frames and he told me to wait until Spring when they have their new collection. Walked into 4 eye wear stores just asking for a quote on eye exams for contacts, everyone else was $85 but Eye Solutions is only $75 and when you get 6 or 12 months of contacts, you can use it towards your contact purchase. The Optometrist and people who all work there are really sweet and pretty. The back room where you get your eye exam is really nice, carpeted with a really clean bathroom. Just a wonderful experience overall. After my eye exam, I got a free trial for contacts and after 2 weeks I came back to order my 6 months worth of contacts, since they were out of stock on my kind, they gave me another trial and told me I could pick up my contacts in 4 days. When I got my contacts, Eye Solutions made it super easy to mail in my rebate to J&J for $35. I think I found my permanent place to get my contacts/eye exams. read more

I came here the other day to get new glasses that would fit my face. He staff here were very attentive and helped me choose a new frame that would suite me well. The sales associate that was helping me offer a huge selection of frames all of which were very pricey, which is not a bad thing. After choosing my frame I had to get my eyes examed for new prescription lenses. The doctor was very nice and paid lots of attention to the finer details of the examination, more so than other optometrists that I've been to. She answered of my questions and was extremely helpful. The best part in, I just walked in and they helped me right away. After waiting about 4 days my glasses were ready to be picked up. Initially they had told me to wait about 2 weeks before I can pick then up. It was a pleasant surprise and a relief because I can finally wear glasses that dont compress my face. This has been my go to place for all my eye exam/contacts/ glasses. The staff is great - helpful and friendly. The prices are good as well - they dont try to rip you off on exams or frames. They also try and get you any rebates they can offer. They always have walk in options for exams so its super convenient. No hassle or trying to swindle you into buying expensive glasses. They have a good selection of frames but wont give you a hard time if you want to take your prescription and fill it elsewhere. They also accept most insurance plans - ie: VSP. They offer all contact brands and price it competively. They're not shady about price and will show you price comparison charts for insurance options and those without. A real gem! I needed a contact lens prescription because my old expired and I did not want to spend a lot. Did a bit of on-line research and found out that Costco charges $99. They have really great customer service from greeting you as you come in, to helping you select the right frames, to getting eyes examined by the ophthalmologist to contact fittings. Went here since they take my insurance. Since I went on a Saturday it was pretty busy and had to wait for a couple of hours before a doctor could do my eye exam. Being in Chinatown, killing two hours is easy but if you don't anticipate this and come without a plan this will annoy you and can turn away customers. The doctor was nice in conducting the exam and felt comfortable with her. Purchasing frames took a little longer than I expected because they have a wide variety in stock. However, after all that time picking out frames they didn't mention to me that I had to wait a week or two before getting my lenses. The representative told me it was based on whether my insurance company had the frames in stock, strange. I was surprised by this because it's common for eye glass stores in Chinatown to have glasses ready for you within 4-5 hours. Be sure to know what you're eligible for with your insurance and sit with the representative when calculating the cost. They like to speed through that portion with the deductions and personal calculator they have. read more

I had to get new lenses for my glasses that I wear 80% of the time instead of contacts, so I decided to try this shop because I read somewhere that they carry zeiss lenses, witch are some of the best. The clerk was very helpful and honest and said they only have zeiss coating and not zeiss lenses and suggested an even better coating brand. Also he added that I could get a new eye exam for $30 . I really wanted these zeiss lenses but I decided to trust the clerk and since I was there just get these new ones he suggested. The clerk also mentioned the 1h wait for the visit, and I said: "ok maybe I can go grab some food and come back?" and he's like "no we actually have snacks and beverages here, also a tv and fresh coffee". I was like ok!I follow the clerk in this other portion of the shop and all of a sudden I feel like I am at Starbucks! Coffee station, fridge with any soda or water, fruits, snacks I mean they even have noodles in a box! There are tables and benches, also they have self phone charging stations. So even if the wait can be long, they make it pleasant for their costumers. I got my glasses back and so far so good! read more
