I woke up in the middle of the night with the craziest craving for a breakfast burrito and when I woke up again officially in the morning the desire was still there. When I unlocked my phone, breakfast burrito businesses in Upland appeared in my Yelp search. That middle of the night urge was real!! The bigger surprise was that there were not too many businesses specializing in breakfast burritos or breakfast sandwiches. Obviously I ended up at EZ Burger and Grill for my breakfast burrito journey. This is a 2-lane drive thru business connected to a car wash, located off Mountain and Arrow. They have some outdoor seating, right by the GARBAGE... Even if the CDC didn't shut things back down, I wouldn't want to eat my food here. This place needs major major upgrades. As a drive thru business even before the pandemic, I feel like the communications system should be something to invest in. The drive thru speaker on BOTH LANES were bad. I had painful feedback on my side and I could hear the screeches on the other side too. There was difficulty hearing on both ends. The breakfast is only served until 11am so come early! I've seen their burgers and I'm not impressed enough to try. I had a regular size One EZ Breakfast burrito ($4.49) which comes with your choice of ham, bacon or sausage in which I opted for the bacon. I added hash browns inside (additional $0.99). The staff member taking my order was very nice and sweet. She asked if I wanted a beverage with my meal. At first i wanted to be naughty and get the root beer float, but it was so early the ice cream machine wasn't ready yet. Instead I got an Orange Juice ($2.09) which is a bottle of Orange Juice, not fresh squeezed. To their credit, they made the breakfast burrito very fast. The nice lady offered me condiments, but I was going back home so I already have ketchup, salt and pepper at home. I reached in to the bag to grab the breakfast burrito to eat as I drive, but the heat from the foil wrapped breakfast burrito was too painful for me to bare. Ouch!! I want my fast food easy to eat please... There are other wrappers where there is an exterior layer that isn't hot for the customer to touch from the outside with foil lining interior. Anywayssss... I had to drive all the way home to eat my breakfast burrito. The bacon was very crispy. The layers were evenly distributed. I enjoyed the eggs, cheese and hash brown. I would consider coming back the next time I have one of my crazy cravings again. I hope management can take positive criticism and make improvements to their business. I'd usually say this place is 5 stars but I haven't gone in years and now the employees working there are no better than a McDonald's employee. Probably even worse. The food wasn't the issue as I think it wasn't that bad but if you take a peak in the kitchen it's a dirty mess. I ordered a hamburger with no tomato and no onion and he said plain and I said no, no onions and no tomato. Then he just repeated himself so I said yes. Then I get the burger and there's no lettuce and no sauce when I just wanted no onion and no tomato. On top of that I ordered an XL fry and received a regular because at the window the guy asked me to repeat the order and I did and then he tried to charge me a second time after the other guy had already charged me. Then I said he already charged me and he said, why didn't you say that. Like I was supposed to know what he was talking about. I assumed he was just repeating my order. First of all - the speaker on the right of the building to order is bad. Maybe from 1969... second paid $46.00 dollars for 4 burgers 3 wild with bacon .. received bacon less $6.00 tip I'm guessing. I was not happy with the food here. Service was good, but the food was not it. We were told from people and from various reviews that this was like an In-N-Out knock off. This was an order for myself, fiancé, and son First, the fries (wild style) similar to animal style. Fries were SOGGY, onions weren't even caramelized, and were WAY too thick. The wild style fries, I felt, like I was eating soup rather than fries. The cheese melted so much it turned to liquid. I stopped eating them and wasted money there. Double cheeseburger Could not taste the meat. I got a double, wild style burger, and every bite was a whopping serving of lettuce with ketchup and mustard slapped on like they were salad dressings. I finished the burger mainly cuz I paid $45 for my entire meal. The chicken strips, tasted like the ones you get in elementary school, lacking flavor and the oomph you would expect in a smaller joint. Not worth it. I do give them props on the Dr Pepper tho!! I decided to go to EZ burger for the first time, and BOYYY, what a wonderful time. The wait was quick and adequate. The amorma was delicious, and everything was priced very affordable. When we arrived at the window, a very nice woman greeted us she was super positive believe her name was Michelle. Then we received our food from one of the people who prepared our order. The food from the bag was BUSSINNNN' smelled so divine (taste was impeccable) as we were ready to drive off. The man gave us a shake when asked what favor we wanted, I was caught off guard and said, "What's ur favorite?" I was contemplating writing this review but today was the deciding factor as I did not want to give my business to this restaurant when driving by and looking for somewhere to eat. The first and last time I ate here was New Years Eve and my family and I were treated horrible by the girl with stickers all over her face taking orders and handing food out. She was very rude and rushing us to order asking if we were ready multiple times after we said just a second. At the window was even worse. Didn't greet us, very short and no politeness at all. She thought she was being cool in front of the other workers cooking... I even notice them snickering about the service we were receiving. I think she was upset that the business had them work that day but don't take it out on the patrons. Wow. What happened to this place?!? It used to be great before they got their recent social media shoutout...My husband and I waited 2hrs a d 15 min for our food today. Unacceptable. We were in a good mood and trying to be patient, but NOT ok. Our food was served quickly and was fresh but I wasn't very impressed by the flavor. Nothing special about the service given by the cashier either. It wasn't a BAD burger but it wasnt great. Been going here for years, and it used to be the best burger joint. The last two times we've gone recently, the quality of service and food is way down. Ordered a large big John and it was the same size as a regular. They added more eggs but less of everything else. And the eggs were undercooked and watery. Added hashbrowns but there was like a teaspoon in the burrito. They give you less fries than before. We also ordered a burger with grilled onions and they didn't put any onions at all. It sucks to see the quality of this place go down so much. For a quick reasonable burger combo this is a great place. They have 2 drive thru's so the line flows quick and service is great. You get a free drink with Yelp check in. They have a Wednesday after 5 pm Burger special. We opted to get cheeseburgers and added grilled onions. We also had fries with sides of ranch. We also got the large root beer float. It was good more soft serve than root beer but good though. They have a small parking and a couple outdoor seating areas. They are located near EZ car wash - guessing same owner. Located at corner of W Arrow Highway and N Mountain Ave. I wouldn't go out of my way but for a quick burger the burger was great and price was right! It's not worth it, they need to change some things, and they have the potential to. It's unusually overstaffed. I noticed at least 9 people in the max 12x12 kitchen. Yet it takes over 5 minutes to get each car through the drive through. I don't know how they can afford to pay everyone here, but they can do better. If they reroute the drive through, and speed up the service, it could get much more traffic. Although they have an "A" somehow for their rating, which doesn't mean much, I do question how with the look of the kitchen. Additionally, I noticed that their single AC is pulling from a power tap held midair connected to another 6 appliances. This place has potential, but seems wasted. They definitely paid for some instagram TikTok influence, which is why I stopped by, but they are Lacking. $12 for the same for $10 at in-n-out which is cultish with their standards. Additionally, the receipts, although itemized, are missing prices. I plan on lurking socials for this place because the fries were damn good, but I think they can do better. Obviously, management hires a lot of people. After a 15 minute wait, I'd expected more. There is something happening here that requires some new planning. EZBurger, please fix whatever's going on, expand your lot, and let us know why there are ~10 people in your building when most of them look clueless and it's 10 minutes per vehicle wait.
