Terrible service. We stopped in - the ONLY people in the store - yet they still screwed up our order. We were shorted two of our side orders. When we unpacked at home, we called to let them know. And their fix? Oh, we'll let the manager know and when you come in again, let the cashier know and they'll give you the items you were shorted. We'll see. IF we bother to go again. This was our first visit and probably our last. If they can't get an order right when there are no other customers, I can't imagine what it's like if they actually have a line. Edit: If you're like me, you're willing to give folks a chance to make things right, and having a quick response to a review offering to reach out gives you a more positive feeling. However, when I get a response asking me to reach out - which I did - but then get no reply (it's now 3 weeks since I emailed as requested, and haven't heard a thing), it tells me that's nothing but eyewash and they really don't care about fixing anything. The one-star is because of the friendly server that we had not necessarily the that was seem fairly rude that was behind in the kitchen but my father and I went there and we ordered he can't have dry chicken so we ordered thighs and it was drier than any breast meat I've ever ever had two stars for the potatoes anyting else was disgusting I felt bad because it's just the two of us and it was $43 and we tipped on top of that so $49 please save your money read more

By far my favorite chicken in Spokane! I really enjoy the chicken tenders, you can tell they use good fresh chicken tenders cooked to a crunchy perfection! We usually get 1/2 spicy and 1/2 regular with the honey mustard and BBQ ranch dip. Did I say I love this place! We go there once a week...you should too! read more

Never disappointed in this place. Totally unexpected quality for fast food. Plain chicken is good, but I love the spicy - the spice builds but never overwhelms. Mashed potatoes and gravy are my favorite side. They nailed that gravy. Our daughter hoards the mac and cheese while our son prefers the beans. All the sides actually taste fresh and homemade. Went on right after the place opened on a a Saturday. Great food all around. At a chicken breast, drumstick, corn side and a biscuit. Prices are a little high compared to other places. If your looking for good home style fried chicken then Ezells is the place. I read a review about them and saw it was a poor review. So of course I had to try it. I have had home style fried chicken from all over the country and Ezells is nothing but better than the average chicken joint. The meet is juicy and tender and the breading is fried perfectly to a crisp. Also, the breading is evenly distributed around the piece of chicken. The flavor of the breading is also just right. Not to salty, oily, or fried so much it hurts to bite into. I also ordered the Mac N Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. They taste okay. You can obviously tell this establishment spends their true time and money on the home recipe of their fried chicken. 4 stars because there is always room for improvement. Having lived in the South, home of 20 thousand chicken places, I have been missing some southern style chicken and sides. Ezell's is in the shopping area a little bit away from my apartment and I drive by it all the time. It is worth the stop! Their prices are really good for the large amount of food that you get. I love their spicy chicken tenders, these are actually spicy. The chicken has a great crisp and is very moist. Their famous mac and cheese is pretty good but nothing compared to their potato salad. Their potato salad is super creamy, more like mashed potatoes with chunks of potato in it. Their rolls. Who can forget their large, fluffy, delicious rolls. I've been wanting to try Ezell's since my son bragged about how tasty their Seattle location is. I happened to be in the south hill area and decided it was time to give Ezell's a try. Upon walking in I noticed it was pretty busy. The staff were friendly. I ordered a 4 piece chicken combo and 1/2 lb chicken strips and crinkle fries. You can choose from traditional, spicy, or half/half. I went the half/half option and ordered half a dozen of rolls. The sides I picked was corn and mashed potatoes, which was pretty standard. The chicken was crispy and good, but the traditional I noticed had less flavor than the spicy. Spicy combo meal will be my go to in the future. For me, it was good not fireworks in my mouth or anything just good. I was a pretty displeased with how often I noticed the staff touching their hat/face/skin/hair all while prepping food. I appreciate that they had tongs for picking up the chicken to box it but I wish they would wear gloves and just be more aware of sanitary practices. All in all, it was okay but slightly over priced for fried chicken in my opinion. read more

I've driven by this place for months and told my self I need to try it. Well today was the day finally. I was going to sit in my car and review the menu online before going in. Then I decided, heck. I'm Guna wing it. Cashier was super friendly and gave me the run down of the menu. Since I came in on lunch she suggested a chicken tender combo. And that's what I chose. The 1/2 pound. Which includes a side and a fresh baked roll. I did original recipe and the Bbq sauce for dippin. I was torn on what side to get since it was my first time. The creamy slaw sounded good but I didn't want to commit. So she let me sample it. It was great, but I defaulted to their second most popular side, mashed potatoes and gravy. She said the man n cheese is the most popular. My food was up quick. I chose to eat in. I felt like I was in the dining room of one of the friendliest southern families ever! I was greeted warmly and asked multiple times with a genuine smile if they could get me anything as I enjoyed my meal. And I did. I needed butter and honey for the amazing roll! Then as I was almost done the manager was making his rounds checking on those eating and offered a peach cobbler sample. What a great treat to round out the meal. After moving here from the south, Ezell's is a blessing to me. I tried it first in Seattle, someone told me I ABSOLUTELY had to go to Ezell's for some good fried chicken. I can't ever turn down friend chicken so I went and so happy I did. Come to find out there is actually one here in town which was the best news ever to find out. I get the 3 piece chicken tender combo. It never disappoints. Mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese is a must. Their rolls are just that.. rolls, only thing I'm not that into here but the roll is not why I go there. I have been told that the peach cobbler is amazing. I don't like peach cobbler but if you do give it a try. As long as I live in the area Ezell's has my business. This location is super clean and the customer service is always good. read more

My qualifications: I have lived all over the country including the South so I know good fried chicken. Given that note, in the five years I have been in Spokane I have been extremely disappointed that there is only one place for good fried chicken, "Chicken n Mo", which I love. The question is, how would Ezell's measure up to Chick n Mo. I came in at 4:30 PM on a Thursday afternoon in June and was very hungry. I noticed chicken sitting out behind the counter similar to Popeye's. You can buy 1-2-3-4 or more pieces separately or in a dinner with rolls and side dishes. I ordered the four piece meal with 2 pieces of dark (Thigh and leg) and 2 pieces or white (Breasts). I got a cup of water that was free. The cost was $12.57. If I were to only get the chicken I think it would have been $8.50 for four pieces, but I was a hungry dude. Positives The employees were friendly and the service was fast. Fast is not necessarily good...McDonald's is fast!! See below. The sides were surprisingly good. I really liked the baked beans and the macaroni and cheese. That was a pleasant surprise. The rolls were fresh and tasty. I did not see any butter, but did not need it anyway. The freshest chicken was the thigh. It was moist, juicy, and hot. The other pieces you could tell had been up there probably since lunch and were a bit dried out. I'm a big dude. 235 lbs and almost couldn't eat it all. So you get a lot of food if you're hungry. If I lived on the South Hill I would be visiting this place twice a month. It's good but not great!! It's good that we have another place good friend chicken place. Popeye's is better and we probably won't get one of those...although I think it would do well here if it was on the North side. There was a steady stream of people of all ages and races coming in from 4:30-5:00 PM. I'm sure they will make it in Spokane. Little competition. Critiques The chicken was ok, better than KFC, which I don't really like. However, KFC does have better spices on their skin. But it's greasy. The chicken was not 100% fresh. At Chicken n Mo they cook it right there on order and it comes to you fresh, hot, and juicy. The best "by far" in town. But you may have to wait 15-30 minutes. I wish I went there more often, but the parking is a pain down there. Judgment: Chick n Mo has the best fried chicken in Spokane hands down. The crust and the freshness of their product is the best. I was disappointed in the portion sizes because another reviewer (whom now I think may have been an employee) talked about larger portions. The Mac n' Cheese had a greyish tint to it, the noodles were soggy, and was greasy. Not very appetizing. It just dawned on me that we were supposed to get a roll with our meal, but we didn't. My husband and I were mixed on our sides, I thought the mashed potatoes were great and the mac was ok, while he though the mac was best and didn't want his potatoes! The mashed potatoes are a little thicker rather than creamy which I loved, but the mac and cheese reminded me of KFC. We both agreed that the chicken itself tasted great but that the breading could have used seasoning, so we will have to come back and try the spicy chicken! I wondered if they screwed up my order since someone from another review said the spicy version is really spicy. For not being busy, you would think that they would get the order right. Also, there was only a very light dusting of Cajun spices on my fries. I was expecting a robust amount of Cajun spices just like how they do it in the South. This place has slowly gotten worse since opening and many employees seem angry at you for making them do their job. Just made a pretty decent order (3lbs of chicken, couple extra sauces, and two jumbo sides - baked beans and coleslaw) and had it pre ordered to be picked up at 6:30. We know they do get busy around this time but thought that ordering ahead online and just going to pick it up would be faster-it's not. 30 minutes later we had gotten our food finally. The whole time we were there waiting the front and kitchen staff never put on a pair of gloves and one girl in particular in the front was rubbing her nose, touching her face and MOUTH, touching her hair and constantly pulling her mask down, touching the register, handling money etc. all the while handling rolls, boxes and containers of food, utensils, and the paper that goes inside the takeout boxes. As someone who has extensive kitchen experience in a professional environment I can without a doubt say this is unacceptable hygiene standards and quite honestly disgusting. My family and I came in tonight for dinner. The place was busy. The employees were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very small but clean. Between us we ordered chicken, chicken tenders, fries, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and beans. I agree with another poster that it is not quite as good as Bob's chicken and more but everything was still delicious. And I love having a place that serves really good fried chicken up on the Southhill! We are definitely going to be back and we are going to tell all of our friends to go here as well.
