This is a no BS mechanic's spot that quotes fair and honest prices for both parts and labor. As someone who has been around the auto industry for a while and who used to work on my own cars before a serious injury, I know when I'm getting ripped off on material and labor costs. Frank and now Erick provide more than fair and reasonable prices with quick turnaround times for work and, most importantly, provide the same fair and reasonable quotes to people I've sent here even when I'm not present. I'm forced to review this based on the current ownership. Left car with them to fix. Took months on end, then when I picked it up it still wasn't fully fixed. I had to take it to another mechanic. Cost a lot of extra work & Eric was incredibly difficult to deal with. He blew 25 years of loyalty by poor work, bad business, & horrible customer service. If all mechanics were as dedicated, honest and professional as Frank then getting your car repaired would always give you peace of mind. Have your car checked by others PRIOR to bringing car in. Amazing how out-of-a-hat this company finds pumps that have leaks AFTER you have had it checked by other mechanics where none were found. 1 yr. warranty means absolutely nothing. read more

This shop is not a place that you should take your car. They seriously damaged and put myself and family in danger because of work that I had done. I would not recommend this place even to my worst enemy! 12/10/09 I would like to add a bit more information. I took two different vehicles to this mechanic and had to go to the BAR each time. Both vehicles were missing parts or parts were installed incorrectly. Maybe if Frank was working on our cars it would have been different but unfortunately it wasn't and we are still paying the price to fix these vehicles two years later. read more

I took my truck to F & J for a service and felt compelled to leave this review. The biggest concern most people have about mechanics is honesty, especially for those like me who know NOTHING about cars. When I presented my car with the check-engine light on, I was given a rundown of its issues with fastidious detail. I never felt like I was being oversold on issues that didn't need to be fixed, which is monumentally important to me. Just to be sure, I took my car elsewhere for a second opinion and to see if I could get a better quote. Not only was I quoted more for the same repair, but was told that the severity of the issue was dire and that my water pump needed to be replaced 'yesterday'. The issue wasn't that bad. The repair was completed exactly when it said it would be done and the entire process fared smoothly. My car is running as expected. I'm grateful I stumbled across this little shop. Frank and Susan are very honest. experienced and knowledgeable. I have taken my 1981 Mercedes 380 SL to Frank since 2000 and my Honda CRV since 2004. I was visiting Cupertino last week and I was driving back to Fresno on Friday. I was 20 miles away from Fresno when my A/C quit working. Monday, I took my Honda to a local mechanic in Fresno. He quoted me $2600.00 to repair the A/C. My daughter wanted me to call Frank and get an estimate., too. I spoke with Susan and Frank and I was quoted around $1500.00. I drove to Campbell on Tues. morning and today, my car was repaired by 200PM. The bill was $1425,00 and they saved me $1000.00. After decades I'm unfortunately taking my business elsewhere. Susan is very helpful, Frank rarely does the work himself on site and often subcontracts work off site. Too often my problem(s) weren't fixed the first time, new problems popped up upon retrieving cars from other repairs, work requested but not done and not explained why.
