Bars n bars n bars. There's nothing terribly distinct about this bar, save for the fact that it's a Blackhawks bar and it will get ROWDY during gametime. Otherwise, same old same old. Bar food, beer, wine and liquor are the standard fare. My friend and I ordered white wine - mine was cold, her, unfortunately, was not. Boo. This bar is very typical of Wrigleyville. I did like that the windows opened up quite a bit to let the nice, summery air/light in. This place is what you would expect in this neck of the woods. read more

The outdoor space is great and it's a nice place, but I will never order food here again. I went in on a Tuesday $5 special and it was alright, though I wasn't expecting too much from it. Went in for a pulled pork sandwich that was awful...I knew I should've walked the extra block to Wriggley's BBQ, but it was nice day and I wanted to sit outside. Visited Chicago in June '08 & 09' from Ireland. In my stay i ended in quite a few "Oirish" bars, its what us Irish do, we seek ourselves out. Finley's was quite easily the most Irish bar of them all (Fadó, The Lodge, The Kerry Man, Irish Eyes....) The menu had a curry on it! a CURRY! in a Stateside bar!?!?! Brilliant stuff altogether! There is not a more Irish dish than a curry, I know it's Indian but trust me, this is a staple meal in Ireland, and after a few days of giant burgers and steaks i needed one! The curry itself was just as it would be here in Dublin, no difference, except you Americans are not forced to pay 15 to 20 bucks for one, around $10 (could be less) i paid, i think... The Guinness in the bar was creamy and importantly not too cold, it was grand, really nice. Irish people on holiday DO NOT! usually drink Guinness outside of Ireland (we say it doesn't travel well). Priced at $4 also didn't do anything to hurt me drinking my fair share and forgetting the cheapness of the food. The dim lights and after cub game atmosphere was fantastic! on both occasions. It was also Pride weekend so the pub was 90 (as we say in Ireland, its a good thing, don't worry) The service was great... i don't remember bad service, so it was obviously good. They are overpriced for a neighborhood bar, they ADDED their own tip once to my boyfriend and my credit cards, and sometimes they are rude! When I first moved into the neighborhood, I was excited about a local, clean place to hang out... but as I have lived here longer, I realized it's simply a rip-off. Save your money and drink at home- or go south 2 blocks and check out Joe's on Broadway. ESPECIALLY if you want a local dive to relax. This is a typical local neighborhood bar. Its walking distance which is nice but nothing great or special about it. The food is pretty mediocre but they have cheap food and drink specials during the week. ($5 burgers, .50cent wings, etc). There is some outdoor seating which is appealing if you just want to sit out side and have a drink on a nice Summer evening. Overall, there are much better places in the area to go unless you're desperate or just dont care. read more

This place is 2.5 at best in my mind. There is nothing exceptionally about the place. Its a bar. I would say go there to drink and watch a game. The bartenders are friendly, Ive gone in by myself to watch a game and they usually will chat with you and check up on you. The food is mediocre at best, do to some pretty bad meals i try to stick to things that are hard to screw up, tater tots being one of them. Oh and the wings are horrible overcooked, salty and just plain nasty. If they got themselves a new cook this place would be a whole lot better. read more

I REALLY want to like this place -- mostly since it's a block from my apartment. Food is okay, but their drink "specials" are ridiculous. It's a smart move that this bar isn't in Wicker Park, because any money-conscious hipster would HULK SMASH out of their tight jeans and deep V at the sight of a $4 PBR tallboy "special." I sat outside and had a light beer last night, and was pretty disappointed that a Coors Light cost $5. Woof. Watchin' my beer poundage never cost me so much. The service, drinks, and people watching were all terrific when we finally stopped in at this place that's so close I could practically spit on it from my home. But I just couldn't get into the vibe or figure out what the vibe is. English pub meets Wrigleyville. Fine selection of imported drafts meets blaring music from the jukebox (though the music was pretty good). I guess the place is trying to be everything to everybody, but I couldn't completely get into it. I'll be back sometime, though, to try the food and to give the place a few more chances. UPDATE: My princess came here to arrange a visit here for us and a group of our friends for my birthday. She said the owner couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating; offering to reserve some tables for us on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, that was the night of the weird ice storm and so our guest list was diminished and those that came weren't crazy about the idea of going back outside. I think it's very interesting that this place only has three stars on yelp, but has 4 stars on Google and 4.2 stars on Facebook. This is the perfect example of a good place that has a bad yelp reputation because a few people didn't like the beer prices or specials. Having just moved to the neighborhood three months ago, my friends and I avoided this place (unfairly) due to the yelp reviews. Having exhausted all our options in the area, we decided to take a chance and try this place last night despite it's reputation online. We were glad we decided to ignore what was written about someone's burger not being rare enough to be classified as medium rare, or another girl whining about a PBR tall boy being 4$. My friend and I both agreed that we were shocked at how nice the waiters were, how nice the interior and overall layout of the bar was, and how good the food and beer was given the reviews. We ordered some draft beers, and red wines which came out immediately. My friend ordered the chicken noodle soup, which the chef was in the process of just finishing, so it came out hot and fresh. We decided to split the hummus and vegetable flatbread, per the recommendation of our waitress. Again, very good, very fresh, and very fast service. We will definitely be going back here. Loved the layout of the bar and the wooden tables. Great atmosphere, great staff, and great food. read more

This place sinks deeper each time I go in. About a month ago, I went in and asked if they were serving breakfast. "No", was the one word answer I received. Now, they do serve breakfast, but I had to pull it out of the server that they only do one day a week. I went in to watch the Bears game and have breakfast last Sunday, once I found that they only serve bfast on Sundays. We sat down and ordered. First the server came back to say they were out of pancakes. She offered waffles. Then she came back to say they had no waffles. She offered French toast. While we waited for the food, the Bears game which had been on 3 tvs was switched, and it was then only on one tv behind the bar. That tv had ads for the bar running on 1/3 of it, so it was like trying to watch the game on a small tv behind the bar. This caused 3 of the 5 tables to move to the bar, because no one could see the Bears game anymore. The other 3 tvs played the St. Louis Rams game, while the muted audio from the Bears game played quietly in the background. The French toast arrived raw. Nothing more than a sheepish apology from the server, who then avoided our table for the next half hour as we waited for the check. All we wanted to do was leave and find a place to have some breakfast and watch the game. This has gone from a promising new addition to the neighborhood to a last resort for me. The menu is inconsistent, the service is spotty, I can't depend on the game even being on. It's too bad, I really want to like it here, but I really don't. read more

The bottomless mimosa special is killer - they really take bottomless to a whole new level, bringing pitcher after pitcher to your table. I think we went through 5 in 3 hours between 3 people. The problem here is the food...my omelette was practically inedible (how do you mess up eggs and cheese so badly?) so I pretty much at tator toots for brunch. Husband's burger was great but overcooked, and our friend's grits were cold and lumpy. If you want to get drunk on mimosas for $20, it's a deal. Just don't expect good food. read more

This used to be on my Chicago's top 5 burger list....not anymore. I had a burger, gf had super dry pulled pork sliders. Everything was dry and tasteless. Huge downfall in quality. The only reason I give 2 stars rather than 1 is because it was trivia night. I know that they were packed, and the kitchen might have been busy. Still, this is no excuse for such a drop in quality. I joined some friends here yesterday for their Sunday brunch deal. $20 for a meal and bottomless Mimosas?! I need to come back soon so I can get the full brunch experience (I came about 40 minutes before the deal ended so I just picked off of my friends food). The tots were pretty close to being perfect. Crispy on the outside and puffy on the inside and they stayed warm until the end! The mimosas were awesome! They were the perfect balance of champagne to orange juice and even if we finished the carafe as soon as they would set it down it was still refilled immediately. After the brunch deal ended almost everyone cleared out - but we stuck around and it's a good thing we did. It was one of the employees birthdays and they brought in a small cake to celebrate. The 15 or so customers that were in the bar got pieces of the cake too! That won points in my book for sure! I'd like to come back another time to get another experience, and give it a more proper review. But they still gave a great impression for the little bit I experienced this time. read more

I've frequented F.O's for a while now, and while service isn't always as quick as one might like, it's never bad. In fact, one night of debauchery led to a quite high bill and, as it was my certain number check in on Yelp, I had a % off incentive. And they honored it. On a $$$ bill. Awesome. The recent menu update makes this place completely badass- while I was sad to see some of my favorites gone, the new stuff is so worth it. My fiance had the cheese curds which are no longer frozen and extra delicious. I had the chicken pesto sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries and... I have been dreaming about them ever since. There are only a couple things on the menu I like, but I usually only order a couple sandwiches or entrees each time I eat so that's fine. Good selection of overpriced beer but usually more than on special to get you through. Outdoor seating is nice and not cramped. They usually have the 'hawks on. One gripe is that they have a table in the middle of the bar made out of two slabs of wood. They are not even. A woman down the table from us put her wine glass on the uneven part and it spilled everywhere. The server said 'That happens all the time!' Yeah, no kidding it does. I went here last year with my sports team after the season ended. It was a fine place to get together for some drinks as it has a good drink selection, but the food is underwhelming. I had the breakfast sliders and they were really dry. The food here is your typical bar-fare. This update is long overdue. Since my last review there has been a drastic change in service, food, and overall experience. They gave the menu a new face and clearly changed the product they are serving. Still a bit pricey but I don't mind so much coming here for a quick bite anymore. Waited in line for this restaurant to open at 12 on a Sunday with two kids in the heat. The tables in front of us were sat and there was one left. We were told we could sit inside but the patio was full. We said then we can't stay and they said ok bye! Then they said hi to their friend who came up behind us and said here's a table for you and led them to the table on the patio. We left with two hungry kids and a decision to never return. Employees were also not wearing masks so it all worked out. We don't want to eat at an establishment that is not following the safety rules. read more

Cozy, nostalgia-inflicting neighborhood pub. I really like it here, they have great specials and the staff is really nice. Good jukebox, I tend to like a lot of different types of music so the mix doesn't bother me. I can not comment on the food as I have only come to drink. Great drafts on tap and in my experience so far really nice people from the neighborhood. Not necessarily a normal Wrigley-ville hot spot, which is a nice change. If you are looking for somewhere laid back, and you are going out with a good group, i definitely recommend it!! I never waited more than 2 minutes for a drink and definitely took advantage of the $12 miller lite bucket special they have on Sat. nights. Checked this place out for a Sunday funday with my friends. Brunch deal = bottomless mimosas + one entre off the menu = $25 One of the better deals in the city, in my opinion. Food: I had a breakfast burrito type dish. It was very good and a decent size. Service: great! Sam was our server. He did an excellent job explaining the items on the menu, as well as, frequently refilling our mimosa vase. Heck the man even went out of his way and charged my phone behind the bar for me. In the heart of Boystown this is a great brunch spot - how can you go wrong with $25 bottomless mimosas that ALSO INCLUDE breakfast!? Had the breakfast wrap which was vegetarian and delish! Came with a side of potatoes that weren't greasy and the skins peeled right off of them - perfection and probably some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The breakfast was $9 and my coffee was $2.75. My friends opted for the mimosas special so tried the chocolate chip pancakes (very dense they said). In the four hours that we were there they worked themselves through 4 pitchers of mimosas. I'm sure the waitress would have kept bringing them too if they hadn't told her to stop. The food here was great and the patrons here are extremely friendly (despite us wearing our packer gear). I will definitely be be back. This place has some of the friendliest service in Lakeview. Inexpensive specials and a great location makes this one of my favorite bars in the area. We spent New Years Eve at F. O'Mahony's and were greeted by some of the best celebrations in the city. Never been there before? The staff is welcoming. I recommend a seat at the bar if you come alone or a table by the windows if you have a few friends. The atmosphere is very relaxed. I have heard amazing things about their brunch specials, but I've never done them myself. It is absolutely part of the summer to-do list. read more
