What a fantastic place! The service was spectacular, they are so kind and explained things. I ordered the Bellisimo panini...ham, smoked cheese, garlic & purple potato puree...the bread, makes the sandwich even more amazing. Save room for gelato! This isn't the crazy color, fake stuff...we had the pistachio, chocolate, and cherry. All three were super creamy and intense flavor. We were in the area and one of our favorite treat places had permanently closed. On our way out of the parking lot, we ran into this adorable gelato cart. We stopped in for a peek. Such a lovely place. Customer service was excellent! They had delicious corn free gelato. We noticed while eating they offered gluten free flatbread and pizzas. We ordered some pizzas and dined in, then took some flatbreads to go. The pizza was a light fluffy chewy cloud from heaven. All their flour is imported. The most delicious gluten free pizza we had ever had. I should have asked prior, but I never thought of asking the ingredients of their gluten free flour. The sweet gal showed me the bag. Gluten free wheat flour! We are celiac, and can't even tolerate gluten free oats. No wonder why it tasted do delicious. It took us 3 months to heal from this adventure. Fully my fault. We still come back often for their Gelato. If you can tolerate gluten and gluten free oats, I highly recommend this cute little place. They even offer delicious sandwiches. I still take home the flat breads to go for my husband. A little peace of heaven on earth with delicious food and amazing people. read more

Cute corner cafe is a hidden Italian gem hiding in Peoria. In addition to the gelateria, there is a deli and pizzas off menu. The staff is simply put amazing. Super friendly and greeted us with "Buongiorno". The paninis were fabulous, with Fabio's grandfathers yeast to make the unique bread. The affogato with pistachio gelato was outstanding. read more

For those that are saying it's amazing and giving it 4 stars, you're doing this place an injustice. We've been to Italy a handful of times and Fabio's flavors bring us back every time. Now they're also sporadically doing Roman style pizza! Those living up here are truly spoiled having this gem in the middle of a flooded chain-filled restaurant neighborhood. I love Fabio On Fire Pizzeria Italiana and was very excited Chef Fabio had opened a sister restaurant with a more casual ambiance. I wanted to introduce my work family to Chef Fabio's delicious creations. We were welcomed by the sweetest young lady. She explained the menu to us and the additional options for Chef Fabio's famous pizzas. My group ordered two pizzas, two paninis and a few gelatos. Everyone enjoyed their entrees & desserts. My Piccante Panini was absolutely delicious filled with thinly sliced spicy salami, bufola mozzarella, arugula, caramelized onions, parmigiana spread and extra virgin olive oil. Five stars for the amazing gelato. Just perfect!! The panini was okay. I guess I'm not a fan of meats with a lot of fat. The flavors were okay, but there was an immense amount of a Mayo type substance. Way too much to taste anything else and the inside of the panini was barely warm. The panini bread was wonderful, though. I'm not sure if the chef was in a hurry, but the overall result was disappointing. The place is adorable, the staff is super sweet. A little corner spot with big Italy flavor! Paninis & gelato.... what more could you want for a lunch date with a bestie? I've visited twice now and both times have been packed. It's a pretty small space and once it cools down, the outdoor seating will be welcomed, but I would prepare to take it to go or wait a bit for a seat! I just think they didn't consider how much the community would love them! The paninis are so authentic and I love that they give you the menu in Italian and in English! It is a little pricey, but did get two meals out of it because the paninis were big & savory and found ourselves not really wanting to eat the whole thing in one sitting! The gelato was unreal. I took 2 of my neighbors in with me last Thursday. It was their first time in. We had Emma as our server. She took great care of us. We never had to ask for refills or bread. We chose pear salad... Amazing, lots of pears and a light vinaigrette. The bread was delicious. Our entree was lasagna, enough to share with two ppl and my margarita pizza was cooked perfectly. With a toasty crust. Honestly these are some of the best sandwiches I've had. I would recommend having them freshly made as they're straight from the oven and the warm bread is perfectly crunchy. I'm a big fan of the Donna Di Cuori because pesto and warm bread is one of the most elite combinations around. We got the Bellissimo and Luciano before and they were also good. The Luciano was the first one I got and made me want to come back to try more. We also got some pistachio Gelato and it was great on a warm day. The Italian lady was also really sweet and made the experience even better. Some people just make you feel good about supporting their business, like her. Honestly kind of silly it'd be less than 5 stars the paninis and service are top tier. read more

Capri $13.95 Bufalo mozzarella + slices of tomatoes + organic pesto + arugula + extra-virgin olive oil Parmigiana $11.95 eggplant + parmigiano Reggiano + bufala mozzarella + basilico + tomato sauce + extra-virgin olive oil Piccante $14.95 Thinly-sliced spicy salami + bufala mozzarella + arugula + wood-roasted, carmelized white onions + parmigiana spread + extra-virgin olive oil Donna Di Cuori $15.95 Mortadella with pistachios + creamy mozzarella + Sicilian pistachio spread + arugula + extra-virgin olive oil Toscano $15.95 Wood-roasted pork belly + provolone + parmigiano spread + fried zucchini + extra-virgin olive oil I had them cut the Parmigiana in 4 pieces so that became out appetizer. These are the real deal wood fired authentic Italian style panini, not the panini press sandwich you grew up with. The bread is amazing, the meats, cheeses and toppings are fresh and appear to be imported,and the whole sandwiches are huge. We usually order two different ones and share. Good selection of imported sodas and chips too. And of course homemade gelato and desserts. I was so excited to try this place as I have heard so many great things about the restaurant. I had the Picante. It's was ok. Not much meat to it, lots of onions. I was a little disappointed. I will say this was my first time and I only tried the Picante. My daughter had a ham and mozzarella and also the cherry gelato. She took the mozzarella off as it made the sandwich soggy. The gelato was ok. Service was great. The girl up front is super sweet. You don't have much interaction with the staff as you order at the counter, they give you a number and call it when it's ready. The ambiance is nice. The area is very tight. There are tables, but not many. If you like panini's, I would give it a try. It is pricey for a sandwich. Ok. The food I think is pretty good. It's hard to say because my panini was cold by the time they got my wife's out and hers was burnt. Crumbled when she tried to take a bite. This place is slow, slow, slow. The service is so bad. And the real annoying thing is they don't seem to care. When I finally got my wife's order, it was burnt. I said something and the girl just stared at me. Didn't send it back, they were just too slow for regular orders, I figured a messed up order would have completely confused them. Excellent quality toasted panini. I enjoyed my Luciano panini. It was no problem to substitute out the spicy salami for a more mild salami. Creative panini menu. Panini are in the $15 range. I don't think it was over priced for the quality or serving size. Really, I think the way to go is to share a panini, leaving room for Gelato. My son said the Gelato was a 5/5.
