As long as I lived in the area, I have never eaten here. Today I decided to give it a try. I ordered the #4 which is the Burger Combo. Super friendly people & very clean inside. They have their own parking lot and also a Drive Thru. The burger was very good, the fries were just ok. Will I go back ? The answer is Yes

I'm at my favorite burger place in the area to check out their breakfast menu. Fast service. Customers waiting for their food look like they are regulars. Old school comfortable place. Breakfast crew very friendly and being from Hawaii, I love to hear the happy sounds of Spanish. Reminds me of Liliha Bakery back home with the Filipino language filling the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious. Eat em up. I'll have to come back while I'm here to get my burger next time.

First time here and I'm glad I came. Hamburger and fries were delicious made to perfection. I dine in and love the atmosphere. Customer service was amazing. Very friendly and always offering additional service as you enjoy your food. They also provide drive thru if your to busy to stop by. Location is where Altadena fires damaged businesses and homes. So come out and support their business. You won't regret it.

Please support the businesses in Altadena post fire. This gem of a burger/ Mexican / breakfast and Chinese food place owned and operated by two sisters is such a winner in food, service, value and just a lovely business to support until Altadena rebuilds. Best burgers, fried zucchini and fish sandwich in the area! Lots of specials too with daily soups and breakfast specials too. Well worth the drive for great food and to support a great cause. Even a YouTube movie about its history and it rising from the ashes of Altadena to help rebuild the community. Also many articles written on this historic burger stand in Eater and covered by popular YouTubers. Worth the visit even if you are just driving up to Altadena to support the city post fire. They have cozy indoor seating an outdoor patio and a drive thru. Many of the surrounding area is still not rebuilt from the fires so please help support this iconic burger stand!

We jumped on the Fair Oaks Burger bandwagon! How can one local small restaurant serve excellent burgers, Mexican food AND Chinese food at a reasonable price? Well I don't know! It's the stuff of superheroes, that's what it is. You've got to see and eat it to believe it. Warm reception and service, cleanliness, great food (try the fried zucchini) in a no frills diner type atmosphere makes FOB a go-to in Altadena. There is a drive thru, and brisk takeout business too. There are 6 or 7 tables inside and you can grab a table outside as well.

How to describe a place that looks like a 50's throwback but has become part of the heart of Altadena? Service is at the counter but food comes out quickly. And with a smile. Mexican. Burgers. Chinese. Soup. Breakfast. And a huge cross section of Altadena locals. So much burned in the fires of January 2025. Some places remain to remind you that a lot didn't including this gem. Food is solid. I usually have their soup (shrimp, full of veggies too) but have done breakfast (solid). Fair Oaks Burger also supports a food pantry and farmers market and so many Altadena events. Just a gem of a place with owners who care.

10/29/2025: First time here and it definitely won't be our last! How many times had I ventured past this humble establishment while going to visit my MIL in Altadena, never knowing what magic awaited inside? After reading about all of the amazing things they've done for the community since the Eaton Fire, hubby and I decided that we needed to support a business in the local community. They are an Asian family owned business, they have all of the expected burgers, fries.. and they also have Chinese and Mexican fare! Who has been gate keeping this? The service is beyond friendly, they engage with the local community and knew so many people by name. It feels so friendly and welcoming, and they offer wall space to advertise local events. They are part of the fabric of Altadena! Hubby ordered their burger combo and I got the combo chow mein noodles. Both were outstanding and portions are generous. Plenty of leftovers for noshing later. If you're near the area, I strongly recommend that you stop by and give them a try! You will not be sorry.

Today is the final day of cheeseburger week and I decided to try Fair Oaks burger for the first time. I looked over the menu and ordered the cheeseburger combo with a ice tea for $11.49. My order took about 10 minutes and when it was ready I ate outside on the patio. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. On my first bit I was hooked. The bun was very soft and the patty was very tender and juicy. The burger had just the right amount of sauce. The fries were like steak fries and were nice and crispy. In all a excellent cheeseburger and a great value.

Wow! I don't know how we haven't been to FOB up until now. They're so lovely, so friendly. We dined-in and the food was ready quickly, the indoor seating is spacious and comfortable. I was so impressed with their Jumbo eggroll and the fried zucchini taco. Hubby enjoyed his bacon cheese burger and fries. We'll definitely be back!!

After a doctors appointment in Pasadena I found myself back in Altadena to try to get around the rush hour traffic I'd find myself in on the way home. Craving a bite of nostalgia because I used to live in Altadena, I had to go back to Fair Oaks Burger. The drive thru is so convenient and we only waited maybe five minutes for our food. My daughter and I both got bacon burgers with everything in them and they were delicious. The patty was very flavorful with the right amount of seasoning and the ingredients were all fresh. These were some of the best zucchini fries I've ever had as they weren't soggy or too thick. They were crunchy and seasoned well. My daughter also got some steak fries to share with her dad and she said they were really good. Their sides come in large portions, so there's more than enough to share. Everyone that we came into contact with here were warm, inviting and helpful. It felt like a quick in and out of the drive thru minus the processed fast food. I really need to come up here more often because they have a really great looking menu with more things that I want to try again. There is street parking on Calaveras and a small parking lot if you want to eat inside.

First timer here ... I finally decided to try Fair Oaks Burger and I'm glad I did. The avocado burger was decently sized and pretty good. The fried zucchini were large and quite a few of them. Wonder what I should try next!

Quite possibly my favorite burger spot in the pasadena area(Super burger being #2). Friendly staff and the food is just great. The fair oaks burger is just delicious with everything in it. Went there for the first time today. The atmosphere is nice, the one employee I met was friendly, and sitting in the outdoor benches is a joy. However, the real selling point was how damn good my cheeseburger was. I'm definitely going back to murder their menu item by item. read more

I saw a tip saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" and I'm glad I took his word for it. Was gonna use the drive thru when I saw a bunch of trucks parked outside, but walked in when I read that tip. Sweet & friendly service and home-y yet clean atmosphere. I saw a few mentions of their ranch so I asked for it even though I got a taco salad and it was great. My lunch was tasty and its portion size was large. I have a feeling it will be the same for their breakfast (I saw their poster saying they now serve it from 7-11am and their prices are very reasonable!) so would like to come back for that. Living in Pasadena leaves you with tons of options when it comes to food joints. And while many restaurants specialize in one or two signature food items, FairOaks Burgers hits the nail on the taste buds on every single menu item. I am within walking distance to The Hat, DogHaus, Dena's, Rounds, Slater's 50/50 and Umami (and yes I have tried them all) but when I want a seriously good burger and fries, I make the drive to Altadena to FairOaks Burgers. No frills no thrills joint, but they put out some great tasting food. Every single time I have tried something new off their menu, it has been incredibly tasty. So let's do a quick summary of this place. In a nutshell: The staff is nice, the food is great, the prices are cheap and the wait time is minimal so why would you want to go anywhere else? I don't so I give it 5 stars. Try it out and thank me later ; ) read more

My wife and I were looking for a sandwich/burger joint near our home up here in beautiful Altadena and after checking Yelp, decided to try Fair Oaks Burger...OMG!! This place is GREAT! Not only are the burgers good (including their turkey burgers...a rare discovery amongst ALL burger joints and chains) but the cost is low, low, low for the fresh, high quality of the food. Sure you can spend 8 to 10 bucks on a burger but why should you when you can go here for a great burger for a lot less. We've been trying the rest of the menu as well. The breakfast burritos? The bomb! And they will fix it EXACTLY how you order it! The quesadillas...cheesy, cheap and good! My wife swears the fish tacos are better than any other place we've been to...plenty of fish and the slaw is delish. And I just had their entree size won-ton soup with chicken and shrimp and it was fresh, hot and jammed with yummy won-tons, meat and veggies. So worth it. I'd give it a 5 but the building is looking a little rundown and the drive-thru is a little slow. But I'll just have to get off my ass and walk into the restaurant for a fast, inexpensive meal! This is our new go-to place for a great meal without busting our wallets! read more

Well after going to Pie & Burger, Tops and... I found the best burger in town. The Fair Oaks Burger at Fair Oaks Burgers is it. Along with the steak fries with season salt it is one great meal. Try their cob salad or shrimp chow main or carne asada. They have it all and it's good. Nice and clean, the ladies have made a great little shop. So go there all you folks of Altadena that think they are doomed to Everest. They have a take out window too. read more

A cozy, down-to-earth place for good-quality food. In my boyfriend's words: "If I wanted greasy food, I'd go to [a well-known fast food chain known for freshness]. But for this price and this quality burgers, this is good!" I got the avocado burger with fried zucchini, while he got a jalapeno burger combo. Foodwise it is pretty worth the price; I assure you two people would not spend over $15 for a full stomach! Service was manned (or womanned?) by one single lady who did her best to give us a good time at her restaurant. You can see her running around the counter, drive-through and take-out phone by herself and she did a pretty good job! Only thing was that the 7UP drinks was out of sweet concentrate and all we got as carbonated water ): She immediately changed it for us and was apologetic. Overall: good food, decent price for lunch, and expected service for a small local place! read more

This place was pretty good considering the area and the appearance. It's pretty run down and not super clean looking. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. The fries were steak cut like Red Robbin and were seasoned good. The burger was fine, but nothing special. The patty was very thin. They also serve Mexican and Chinese food, as well as breakfast 7-11 AM. read more

It is amazing how 20 miles can change a small burger place. I grew up in LA, not Pasadena. Where the portions and the flavors are enormous. The Burgers here are good, but, small; as are all of their portions. Not great for the buck, but, okay for the area. read more

I have eaten here a few times. The Asian food was okay, breakfast was ok... The prices are good. The thing they rock at are definitely the burgers! The fries are actual potatoes and delicious every time. I just tried a burger with avocado, jalapenos, bacon, veggies and cheese patty with thousand island... SO GOOD. Toasted bun... Wow. Moved to the Pasadena area not too long back, and am super thrilled to have found this little joint - again, thanks to my fellow Yelpers. Its a tiny place, and the seating is not great. Talk about hole in the wall. Looks pretty shady from the outside. And the menu is a little different. Offering a mix of diner food; burgers, chili cheese fries, Mexican and Chinese food. I had the fair oaks burger combo. Avocado cheese burger with jalapeño and it was delicious. Only 6.99 with fries and a drink. read more

I love this place! Everything that I have ever ordered here was great! They have a huge selection of different types of food from Mexican, to Asian, to Pastrami, which makes it the place to go when you are not sure what sounds good. The girls who run the place are wonderful. Honestly, hands down, Fair Oaks Burger is my favorite place to eat in Altadena/Pasadena. Check it out! Seriously, just come here for the BREAKFAST BURRITO. One of the BEST bfast burreets I have ever tasted even from the ghettoest, authentic, just crossed the border rigaberto/alberto Mexican joint I have been to. It's buttery, hot, crispy bacon, amazingly seasoned potatoes, AND do NOT forget the green sauce. K that's it. I don't know bout anything else here. Looks bootleg to me. I don't really like burger places like these but every once in a while I'll indulge. I had the fried zucchini and chicken sandwich, both of them were great for the price and type of food! The only con is that they close earlier than I'd like. It's right down the street and wouldn't be a bad place for those busy late nights where you're starving and just need food. I wish it was open until 10pm but we are definitely likely to go back. read more

I've eaten here a few times and it has never let me down. This place lacks dine-in appeal so I always do take out. The bf and I have had their burgers, salad, chow mein, and fried rice. All have been great, I have yet to try their mexican food. Cant wait! read more

Both order the exact same thing, one right after the other. A few minutes later, both orders are called. First guy gets his order and says he needs more red salsa. He gets more salsa, no questions, no charge. Second guy gets his exact same order immediately after. He asks if he can have an extra salsa. He's told it's an extra $0.75. There was no pause, no gap in between the 2 men's interactions. Literally stood next to each other, ordered the same thing, one got free salsa, the other got charged. A table full of people nearby, tilt their heads and cock their eyebrows in disbelief. Free salsa guy happens to be White. Paid salsa guy is Asian. Coincidence? You can decide for yourself. We all know discrimination and prejudice exists. It's an unfortunate part of life. I'm no stranger to it. It's usually not quite this overt. This was a little too blatant to just sweep under the rug. Is having to spend an extra $0.75 a big deal? No. Is blatant discrimination? It's enough to stop supporting this business.

Since we were on the 210 freeway, this was just off the freeway not far from where we needed to go. We parked closer to goodwill, there were so many signs notifying drivers not to park for PCC and only for chick fil A customers. We walked by the drive thru lanes which were two lanes that merged into one, there was staff there helping take orders. We had to walk closer to the other side to enter the restaurant. I had to use the restrooms and it was key coded but luckily someone had the code before me. The restrooms were very clean, and the seating area were vast and also clean! Friendly staff and they were also very welcoming, saying "welcome" right when we entered the door! We ordered a few meals and a kids meal, we got our food fairly quick and only had to wait a few minutes. We didn't get to eat right away so we drove to our other destination in less than 10 mins to eat while I charged my car. The food was still warm and the fries still crispy! The sandwiches were still warm and crispy as well, so we had a great in car dinner. The drinks had a lot more ice than I liked but luckily it was enough for us. The fries were delicious, the burguers were made of real meat and looked great and tasted great, The burguer of my wife and son were perfectly cooked, they loved it.
