This place is fantastic. There is no glitz or glamour to the interior (like most Afghan Kabob spots) but the food hits the bullseye. Easy to miss the restaurant as it is with n a shopping center and further off the main road but it's a gem. Everything I have had from here is excellent, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The manager/owner is kind which doesn't hurt either. Definitely recommend. read more

I ordered for for 12 people, food included lamb kabob, chicken boneless and shami which is ground beef. Lamb kabob were good with good flavor. Chicken had lot of red color without any taste or flavor and Shami were the worst. Shami were so thin and small that these kabob could not take heat of the flame and were burnt and extremely dry. Side order chick peas were good taste and good flavor, salad was very little and rice were so so. This restaurant owner should go to Shamshiry restaurant in Tyson Corner and see how their kubeida kabob is and how good chicken is cooked. Rice are great and their salad is great. I am telling you this so you can learn and improve your quality. You want 5 stars and impress your customers, you should follow shamshiry , if not 100 percent than may be 60 percent. You need to look at your shami urgently and improve its quality. read more

This place is dangerously good. I've been to enough afghani spots and this my friend is worth it, it's tucked away in a corner but for only those who seek. I was really excited to try this place out that I drove 30+ minutes to get there. The food was decent but didn't leave a lasting impression. The portion sizes were quite small for the sides and meat. The food took less than 15 minutes to come out which was nice. It was a smaller space so would recommend getting take out if it's busy inside. read more

Service was prompt and my order was ready when I arrived. Everyone I spoke to behind the counter was courteous and helpful. I ordered the steak kebab and chicken kebab. All the sides were quite good (chickpeas, spinach, rice) however the chicken and steak were both so dry and over cooked. Also, the portions were very small. I hope it's a one off. I would consider giving them another chance since all the sides were good. read more

We went there for the first time Saturday. Small little restaurant tucked into the corner of strip mall. The kabobs were excellent. We both got chicken and vegetable kabobs. The sides were also very good and naan was excellent. So delicious!!! I'm not a big fan of many kabob stores because their meat is normally so dry, but Fairfax Kabob does an amazing job. I got the bone in chicken kabob and the chicken breast and ground beef combo which both came with rice, a large naan, and another side (i chose spinach and chickpeas). The meat was perfectly grilled but was still soft and juicy and the seasoning and spices was absolutely on point. The chickpea and spinach sides were delicious. And the naan was toasted to perfection, no cold or limp naan. I even enjoyed their yogurt! Highly recommend. Probably the best kabob restaurant I've ever been to. read more

Ordered the special with the lamb, chicken, and beef kebobs. Overall it was okay in terms of taste but a little lacking in portion. The bread was small, the side was a small scoop of garbanzo beans. The most generous portion was the rice. People were nice enough but not sure I would go back. There are plenty of other better places around. read more

Have been here three times since they opened and they haven't disappointed. Their portion sizes are perfect. Their ingredient quality shows as it has always tasted both fresh and authentic. I am a self-proclaimed kabob snob and have found that too many kabob houses in the region, be they Indian, Persian, or Afghani, serve dry, over-cooked chicken but theirs was both cooked and seasoned perfectly each time. I have had three different kabob platters here and their mazari qabili palau (ordered on a whim) which was to die for; perfectly cooked, fall off the bone, lamb shank. Keep up the quality of the cuisine, and the pleasantness of the staff and you'll have a fan for life. read more

I needed a quick bite and stopped by here. I got a kabob sandwich. How much can a sandwich be different from others? - that's what I usually think but this sandwich was GOOD. Really delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly - I hate over cooked dry chicken. This was a tender, juicy chicken. The dressing gave really good flavor. And the bread was crispy, not too stuffy. It was just a perfect harmony sandwich. I would love to come back here for entree! read more

My first trip to Fairfax Kabob. I'm a huge fan of kabobs, kebabs how ever you spell it. I'm partial to Afghan or Persian style kabobs the most. Fairfax Kabob's Afghan style cuisine doesn't disappoint! My gf and I started with the Mantu and had the ground beef, chicken and lamb kabobs. The Mantu was so good we actually had two orders! The Afghan bread was hot and fresh. Their menu is not complicated and checks all the boxes for the standard Afghan fare. Service is friendly and the layout of the restaurant is quick and easy. I truly love Afghan cuisine and the intricate flavors that it entails. Good fresh food at a fair price. I wish it were closer to where I live but it's ok. I visit that shopping center often. I will be sure to visit Fairfax Kabob again... read more

Today I ate at this place - the food was great and the service was great. My bad review is because the chicken was drenched in food coloring. I spoke to the manager and told him that the chicken was the most amazing thing and he didn't need the food coloring and that it's really bad and can cause side effects like cancer and other things. To this he said that it wouldn't have been sold if that's the case. I said yes maybe but I advise you to research and read about it and he said okay. It was all fine until my toddler has been very disturbed, agitated and restless and keeps waking up and crying and I looked it up and food dye is known to cause this in children. My toddler is 18 months old and this was her first exposure to food dye. I came on here to see if anyone else experienced this and I saw that someone had left a review for the Owner to remove the coloring 9 months ago. Here I thought that when I went up-to him he actually just might listen and this is probably the first time he has heard this. It is highly irresponsible and sad that the manager continues to serve food that could be so harmful. I am so upset and tired and worried about my child who just barely fell asleep at 3 am. I know people might say she must be teething but I promise you I have never seen her this jittery and restless. I urge you to remove the food dye and be better and do better next time and listen to the advise of your customers when they try to warn you against harmful things. read more

Outstanding restaurant with friendly service all around. We love how the kabob is cooked above hot coals and is hand rotated right in front of you. This is by far the tastiest and most thoroughly seasoned (and juiciest!) meat. The kabobs come with a side of home made pita, tzatziki, freshly made chimichurri and one generous side (the ginger/carrot chickpeas being our absolute favorite as well as the garlic spinach). The menu seemed rather simple at first, but the food looked great so I went a little bit out of my comfort zone and got the F10 with chickpeas and rice. Service was so kind and friendly. Food was incredible -- so fresh, spiced impeccably well, and perhaps the best bread I've found in Fairfax. I believe the cuisine is more Afghan-leaning, and the sauces are amazing and taste freshly made instead of refrigerated. An awesome spot for a lunch/dinner. read more

The other matter that is a major distraction is that Wendy's must have added software to their internet such that one cannot load YouTube and stream a clip while at this and a second Wendy's I visited. That WiFi access is a must for me while I eat, and I have taken my two Wendy Burgers to McDonalds, Smoothie Café, or Giant, who always has great WiFi. Place is clean. The bowl which consists of Cajun shrimp, salmon, rockfish and grilled chicken served over white rice, beans, diced tomato, chili mix and chopped parsley. Served with a side of our Roasted Tomatillo which is ABSOLUTELY delicious. Thing is, there was literally one piece of Salmon and no Rockfish and decent portions of everything else. Now, when I address this to the manager "Daniel" I was quite repulsed by his response and demeanor which was very off-putting, stating that I am getting it for free where I correct him by stating that it's not "free" I had to purchase a drink, and it's a promotion your company runs, and if you're going to skimp the portions and have a shitty, pompous, and degrading response, then why run that kind of promotion at all ?! Left my meal right the and there and left. Safe to say that I will never step foot here again, and to everyone else, beware of Daniel.

We also picked up a couple of muffins along with an iced tea and coffee. One thing that really stood out was the huge selection of desserts, danishes, cookies, teas, coffees, and other drinks. There was plenty of indoor seating plus a few outdoor tables, so it never felt cramped. The only disappointment was that there were no free refills on the iced tea, which is what kept this from being a five-star visit for me. On the plus side, we signed up for the loyalty program and were pleasantly surprised to earn a free pastry from just this visit. Since we don't live in the area and probably won't be back anytime soon, that was a nice unexpected bonus. Overall, it's a solid spot with friendly service, great desserts, and plenty of seating.

While we initially stumbled upon the restaurant by chance while in the neighborhood, we decided to treat ourselves to an early dinner, and we were not disappointed. First impressions mattered, and the cleanliness of the restaurant, as well as the spotless bathroom, immediately caught our attention. The attention to cleanliness was a reassuring sign of the restaurant's commitment to maintaining high standards. The hospitality we received from the staff was warm and welcoming. They were attentive to our needs and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. The service added an extra touch of enjoyment to our dining experience. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the combo kebab, and it exceeded our expectations. The eggplant was a standout, cooked to perfection with a delightful tenderness. The ground beef, chicken, and lamb were all expertly cooked, showcasing the skill of the chefs. Each meat had its distinct flavor and was incredibly flavorful. The combination of meats made for a satisfying and diverse meal. To top it all off, the bread served with the meal was a wonderful addition. It was fresh, warm, and perfectly complemented the flavors of the kebab. It added an extra layer of enjoyment to the entire dining experience. Overall, I cannot recommend Fairfax Kabob enough. I recently dined here and had the lamb kebab, while my son enjoyed the lamb and chicken combo. He even said it was one of the best meals he's ever had! I can't stop thinking about how flavorful and tender the lamb was. The quality of the food and the overall experience were outstanding. It is a small business, so I'd recommend leaving some wiggle room if you're ordering a larger order.
