The staff is really nice. The location is awesome. You can easily walk across the street to the beach. There is a strip mall right next to the hotel with a lot of restaurants and even a Rouses. There is normally a golf cart shuttle, but it was broke while we were here. Also, there is normally a buffet breakfast free, but it's not going on now due to Covid-19. Also, the tv does not work. We were busy doing other stuff, so didn't really care to ask to get the tv fixed. If it wasn't for the three previously mentioned things, I would have gave 5 stars. I know a lot of this stuff was not their fault though. Overall, this is a super nice place and will definitely be back. The room was very clean and the mattress was comfortable. There is also a cool lake behind the hotel with an alligator and turtles in it! Definitely recommend and can't wait to come back. I would double check about the shuttle though before you book the room if you need it and are unable to walk to the beach. read more

Stayed here while attending a conference in Orange Beach. Checked in early around 12:30 on Friday. Oops. I thought the check-in was 12:00 but it is actually 4:00. No hassle, they had a room and we settled in. The room [228] was lovely, a larger room overlooking the lagoon with a desk, sofa, and another television. King bed, pillows, sheets, comforter were excellent! A clean room and very modern and updated. The public areas are also updated, bright, and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing. Cute little round egg patties, sausage patties, grits, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, milk, waffles, cereals, and a wide assortment of pastries and breads. So why only two stars? We had exceptionally loud noise on Saturday night beginning at 9:30 and it was resolved at 10:20 after calling the desk twice. We sleep with earplugs that block out up to 33 decibels. The screaming, running, door slamming, and congregating in the hall was VERY loud and annoying. On the second call, the desk clerk informed me that they were "just college girls" and she would resolve it. She indicated, "If it continues, I will have to tell the coach." I asked for a security officer to come up to my room. "We don't have security." A kind maintenance man came to my room to speak with me and I explained the problems. If it couldn't be resolved, we wanted to move. After that, no noise. My knight in shining armor! On Sunday, we encountered a chartered busload of girls staying on the second and fourth floors. The manager also indicated a youth soccer team was in the hotel. I don't know who was screaming, slamming doors, and running down the halls. When I looked outside my room, I only saw young women. It doesn't matter if it was "just college girls." It should not have happened. Thankfully, it was resolved after the second time complaining and we did not need to move to another room. When I checked out on Sunday, our bill was adjusted. I appreciate that. I am a huge fan of Marriott properties overall. We travel a lot and we are rarely disappointed. This property should examine their room rental policy [must be 21 to rent room] and have a security officer on duty. Although the maintenance man was able to resolve it, there absolutely should be security at a hotel just in case something escalates and a trained person is needed. read more

Great hotel. I travel every week for work and when it's time to use points for vacation I want to stay at a clean hotel. This hotel even though is not right on the beach is still in a great location. Breakfast is the normal Marriott type. Lobby is every clean as well as the rooms. The only down side was that the girls behind the front desk could not give good local places for dinner or boat rentals. Oh our room had a loud AC unit my girlfriend asked for someone to check on it and they sent up an engineer to look it over, he was in the room for 15 mins then said he would be back later to replace? Oh yes he replaced the loud AC unit with a brand new quiet AC unit. Can't beat that! Great customer service and extremely clean place to stay the night or a few nights. One of the strangest stays at a hotel and I'm a Diamond Elite Marriott rewards member, so that's saying something. The hotel raised our rate halfway through our stay saying they somehow gave us the "IBM" rate...how that happened I am not sure as we're clearly not IBM. The rooms had a funny smell to them and didn't strike me as super clean. I have now called back over FOUR times asking for a receipt so I can do my expense report over 3 days and I have yet to receive it. My windshield was also cracked overnight in the parking lot and didn't even bother going in as I was parked in front of the "parking here is your liability" sign. Also, the shuttle to the beach they offer is just a ride to the Main Street which you have to cross on foot (I find that dangerous personally so thought I would add it). I also came in around 11:45pm on a Saturday and tried to charge a water to my room and the guy checking people in would not just make a note and add it to my room like normal, he made me wait in line behind everyone checking in and told me to just wait more than once. read more

The costumer service was great and we enjoyed our time here. The pool is heated and feels great! Breakfast is complimentary and tasted okay. Our only complaint is kinda silly but the decorating is horrid!! We had a great experience on our stay here, other than the medical emergency that occurred to our shuttle driver with $4.00 Island Shuttle service. The night time desk clerk was unconcerned with what had happened, and was no help really. But it didn't matter, the lady was helped by the emergency personnel. We did not get to try the continental breakfast, but everything was so clean and pleasant. The beds were very comfortable. The daytime desk clerks were awesome & so nice, as was the hotels asst. general manager who I met at check out to tell her of what had happened the night before. Marriott member with 20+ years Marriott loyalty club. Never had a more pleasant experience in a Marriott property and we have stayed at more than one that was not great or good in that length of time. Facility is clean, modern and stylish. Lovely view over the pool to the inlet at the back of the property. The HUGE bonus is the staff. Housekeepers, managers, every staff member seems to love their job and are extremely hospitable and gracious. The free breakfast has many choices and was continuously refreshed with 2-3 youth sports teams here during our stay and spring breakers all over the area. Constantly busy but constantly refreshed, clean area and top tier staff at breakfast. Would detour to stay here again if ever near this area. "Ritz Carlton" staff attitude and service. Clean, neat hotel rooms. Small workout room but the treadmills are great! Beautiful pool area. The staff was the best part, very friendly and helpful! Isn't on the beach but super easy beach access within reasonable walking distance. Great location in regards to stores and restaurants as well as the beach access. read more

We enjoyed staying at this hotel for our vacation. It was very close to the beach. There is a shuttle that takes you to the street intersection and then you cross and go to the gate to reach the beach. It was much cheaper than the hotels on the beach and was just as nice and close! There is a Walmart, a grocery, an ice cream place, a pizza place, and a Chinese food place all within walking distance. There is also a Publix just a little further down the street. The fitness room is nice but we enjoyed running on the trail behind the hotel. There is a trailhead right behind the Publix. The pool is heated and is nice and not crowded. The breakfast is awesome! Tons of options. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our only complaint was that the air conditioner in our room made a very loud noise every time it kicked on, which made for a long night of sleep. I'm not sure if that is in every room or just ours but we brought a box fan and turned it up to try to drown out the noise. read more

The issue with this hotel is not location (though the backend of a Walmart is a little ugly), it's cleanliness. I noticed my room smelled like doughnuts -- I figured it was from the Beignet place or Winn-Dixie. The second day I noticed baby roaches (not good on the 4th floor). The room still smelled like doughnuts. I dropped my phone between the bed and the nightstand and guess what was wedged there? Yep, a half-eaten beignet complete with roaches. Additionally, the halls were not vacuumed daily, so there were smashed Trix in front of the elevator and a trail of Cheerios (and other things) down the halls. read more

Overall adequate hotel - simple, clean, has an outdoor pool/hot tub. The staff at breakfast was very friendly. My only complaint was the air conditioner ... It was so loud that it kept waking me up every 10 minutes (and I'm a heavy sleeper). read more

We have stayed here on several occasions in the past and were pleased, our most recent stay was a less than pleasant one. The hotel itself is nice (a few areas showing age, but nothing horrible). The location is decent as well, it's not on the gulf, but it's close enough and it's location reflects in the price. Where this Fairfield loses points is the staff, particularly the front desk staff and housekeeping. The front desk staff seems more concerned with lying to guests than keeping them happy. When I called them out on their lies (two separate employees told me the same lie), they simply made more excuses. Also, housekeeping seems to need a refresher course on effectively cleaning the rooms. During our five day stay, our room was never properly cleaned. When I brought the issues to the attention of the General Manager, all I got were more excuses. As a loyal Marriott Rewards member, I hate to say I'll be looking for a new place to stay during our visits to Orange Beach. read more

The hotel asst general manager is not helpful and is very rude. She worked day shift not even sure of her name but I was trying to ask questions about my stay and my room. She refused to pull up my information and just spoke very rudely. The sales manager was very nice he just was unable to help me. The other staff was also very helpful and nice. read more
