    Gyro Quesadilla - Yum!!
    Tawnya C.

Carson City needed this place and they did not disappoint! We were greeted by friendly faces who were happy to share their delicious food with us. I can't wait to try everything on the menu. My mother and I had the Gyro Quesadilla. It was gigantic and full of flavor! Easily two meals. My wife had the Gyro Wrap. She gave it a 9.5 out of 10. The French fries were perfect. Crispy outside and soft on the inside. Drinks are Pepsi products. Yay! Sit, eat, and have a chat with them.

Really enjoyed our experience at Falafel Fresh! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and honestly way better than I expected. The falafel was crispy on the outside and delicious, and the veggies were really fresh. The hummus was also so good! I got the gyro wrap and it was packed with flavor and a really good portion. The babaganoush was soooo good!!!Definitely a great spot for a quick, fresh meal. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area!

    Falafel salad, Hummus/babaganoush with pita

Had the honor of being the first ones in the door on their opening day. We've been eagerly anticipating getting to eat here and the experience did not disappoint. My husband inhaled their gyro. I had the falafel salad with the tahini dressing. The falafel was light and crispy. Not dense at all. The tahini dressing had the perfect amount of lemon kick. We asked that they do a 50/50 hummus and babaganoush with pita for us to share. And the hummus was super creamy and smooth. The babaganoush was probably my favorite I've ever had. Can't wait to come back for more.

    Quesadilla with gyro meat

Came across this food truck at the Jazz On The Hill community event in San Mateo this past weekend. Ordered the gyro quesadilla filled with cheddar/jack cheese and gyro meat (the other option on the menu chicken shawarma). There was no line, instant service, and my order was ready in just a few minutes. The quesadilla was very flat, noticeably so (to someone who eats a lot of quesadillas from different places), but there was indeed a layer of meat and cheese in there and it was still satisfying. The gyro meat was tasty, nicely seasoned, more flavorful than what I've gotten at most other similar eateries, even if the meat was cut fairly thin.

Swiss chard soup $7 - New item, vegan, warm, comforting, thick, filled with beans, chard. Falafels $11 (4 pieces) - The reason they say they don't sell this a la carte anymore because they lose money apparently, and the cook doesn't like cooking falafels (but it's the name of your truck?). It's really good. Will come back for their other vegan items - Babaganoush, hummus, salad.

Got the Gyro Quesadilla which was really good. Also delicious hummus. Thank you for making the farmers market even better.

The thing that captured my eye for this location was a blueberry mimosa. Unfortunately, they couldn't provide it, and then we were offered two other drinks that didn't live up to the hype. Spicy wings were great, and spicy. Baklava French toast was amazing. The honey/ lemon sauce(?) didn't add anything and seemed extremely watered down. The wait for a lake view patio table was pretty much nonexistent even on a Saturday in July. The prices were very affordable for Tahoe, and the Greek menu is a unique experience for a restaurant around the lake. The beer selection wasn't my favorite, but they had the basics plus some local brews. We started off with Saganaki which is a delicious, warm Greek cheese with pita bread. The appetizer came out super quickly which was great, because the main course took a little longer to arrive. I had the Lamb Gyros--so perfect in a summer afternoon! My husband the Veggie Pita which was stuffed with a colorful assortment of veggies. Both came with a generous side of fries topped with an addicting seasoning and a side of "Artemis Sauce." After getting our initial orders in the server only popped by briefly to drop off our food and the check. Our water cups were empty which was a little rough, because it was a in the 90's that day and I had left my water bottle in the car. The only other downside is that the parking lot is small and will cost per hour, but it is right next to the restaurant which is helpful. Overall, Artemis is on my shortlist of yummy "cheap" eats in Lake Tahoe and if I could give half stars this would be a 3.5!

I ordered the gyro wrap, which in hindsight probably wasn't the best choice for my personal taste. I wasn't a fan of the lamb strips, as the flavor just didn't really agree with me. I also would have preferred tzatziki sauce over the garlic sauce, and I found the tortilla wrap less satisfying than a traditional stuffed pita. That said, the food was fresh and the staff was friendly. I also noticed other folks in the restaurant had ordered platters, and those dishes looked good. While my particular order didn't quite match my palate, I'd still be willing to return and try one of the platters or salads next time.

My only small gripe: when I ordered it I was assuming it was a "real" sandwich, that was served with the filling between two pieces of naan (which would have been awesome). But it was an open faced sandwich with only one piece of naan (which in my sandwich-adoring world is not really a sandwich). But the taste was great, which is the most important thing.

Order and pay first at the counter, then find a seat. Recommended: Their tacos with different filling options like chicken tikka masala, adana pork, and vegetables. I'd describe the food as fusion, blending Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, and California flavors. You'll find ingredients like naan, hummus, labneh, slaw, and tikka masala all on the menu.
