    Shawarma in In a Pita
    Hanieh M.

Coming back to my favorite childhood shawarma spot after all these years brought back so many memories, and it still tastes the same, even better! The people who work here are genuinely the nicest and always make you feel welcome. Nothing beats their shawarma in pita. We also got the falafel on the side, and it was incredibly fresh and delicious. This place is clean and everything is fresh, even their pita. This place will always have a special place in my heart.

    Falafel Pita Sandwich

One of the best falafel places in the area. Ordered the falafel pita sandwich. Falafels are crispy and light. The tahini sauce is creamy. The pita sandwich is stuffed with different kinds of regular veggies and picked veggies. While the falafel pita sandwich is great, it gets dry towards the bottom of the pita. They put tahini sauce on the top and they didn't put any sauce towards the bottom. Seating is semi-outdoor area with benches. Food is ready fast and staff are friendly. The ordering area is very small. There are one line to order and two areas to get your food - one area for meat plate and the 2nd area for vegetarian. The ordering line goes thru the meat area and it's hard to tell who's really lining up to order/pay or if they're just waiting around for the meat order to be done. Wish they get the line and ordering proxess more organized. The parking lot is pretty small and is hard to find parking during peak time. I'm not sure if you can park on the street. Best to come during non-peak time and carpool .

DAM this place is good! I would 100% come back, their fries were solid and would come back to try their rice. Their Naan too fresh and it was fluffy while having a nice bite too it. The whole plate is fresh. My friend said the hummus was nothing like he's had before. Service was super great too, the owner let me park in off spot cause of how some drivers were to nicely put it bad at parking. Parking for sure can get very packed. Place was super lively and service was quite fast. They were super friendly with giving recommendations too.

    Tape buried inside my food

I've been a regular here for a long time because I love the food, but tonight was my final visit. While the male server was friendly, the woman serving me was dismissive, avoided eye contact, and seemed annoyed when I asked for sauce. To make matters worse, she gave me smaller portions than my friends who were served by the male server. However, the dealbreaker was finding a piece of tape buried in my food. I didn't realize it until I was chewing on it and felt the sticky residue. I can overlook mediocre service, but a physical contaminant in my meal is a major health concern. It feels like this place has become so popular that they no longer care about quality control or customer experience.

Came here for a Mediterranean lunch, and was very impressed by the food. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, which came with shawarma chicken, salad from their salad bar, and a pita bread. The chicken was super flavorful, and paired very nicely with the crisp, refreshing vegetables. The pita bread was super warm and soft. Probably the best pita bread I have ever had.

It'ts been a while since my last time at Falafel STOP, but I came by after seeing the Italian Ice and Cream next door finally opened to grab lunch before dessert. There was already a line at opening, but service was relatively efficient and I got my falafel pita not long after I paid at the counter. The seating seems to have been refreshed since last time, and the indoor and outdoor benches were clean and plentiful. I got my go to falafel pita, which is the perfect amount of food for a light lunch - the falafel is nice and hot, with a light crisp and soft interior, and the hummus perfectly brings all the veggies and falafel together - I do feel like they don't stuff as much or as many types of veggies and pickles inside as they did before, but it's still tasty and a good deal for $11. Falafel STOP has been an institution for a long time, and it's definitely still a neighborhood staple and my go to for whenever I'm craving a falafel pita!

I love Falafel stop! Their salad is so filling and has an assortment of so many veggies that it makes it absolutely delicious! Their falafel is also moist and crispy, not dry at all. They are very generous with their servings, as the salad and falafel is always two meals for me. The workers are super friendly and their is plenty of seating indoors and outside. I always come back here when i'm craving falafels.

Falafel Stop serves large portions of mediterranean food with a side of pita bread and salads. The menu has a large variety of meats to choose from which comes with hummus, salads, and fries. Jerusalem Mix plate had chicken sauteed with spices, served on a plate of different salads and fries. Grilled Kebab plate had beef, served on a plate of different salads and fries. Parking lot is small but accommodating if it isn't too busy. Seating is at outdoor seating with picnic tables. After ordering, receipt numbers are called to pick up the food. There are two lines since one side is vegetarian whereas the other kitchen side has all the meat options. Overall a place for delicious mediterranean food in enormous portions!

I went with the chicken shawarma plate, which comes with rice and a variety of veggies. The chicken shawarma was flavorful and had a nice smoky rotisserie taste and aroma that stood out. The rice was cooked nicely and had a soft texture, while the veggies were fresh and balanced the meal well. Everything came together in a way that felt satisfying without being too heavy. The portion size was generous and well worth the price, which can easily feed two people. The customer service was great, and everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There was also plenty of parking, which made the trip easy and convenient.

I stopped by on a Sunday early for lunch. The place was getting filled up then. By the time I finished lunch, there was a rush. Falafel pita was my favorite item. Their falafal was excellent. Chicken kabob on plate and Shawarma on plate were my other entrees. Both were flavorful items.

Falafel Stop always hits the spot when I'm craving some Mediterranean food to-go. Every time I visit, I tend to order something with falafel. They're so crispy and packed with flavor, I think they're some of the best I've eaten, I also enjoy getting the Chicken Shawarma Hummus Plate, the portion is always a hefty amount. The tahini sauce is delicious as well. Sometimes I'll get it in a Pita, but I feel that the plate is easier and less messier to eat.

Falafel Stop is truly a gem in the South Bay. Everyone I've taken here has been impressed by the food. My very picky and non-food-adventurous parents really liked this place too! They have a parking lot that can get crowded. I've never had issues finding a spot. There's a covered seating area and some uncovered. You order at the counter or online or over the phone. When you order at the counter, you either proceed to the Vegetarian or Meat/ Grill side. With the vegetarian, they look at your slip and prepare your food, asking for your preferences. I've never gotten the meat, but I believe my dining companions wait for their number to be called. If you order online, there's an online order window in the middle. But it can get a little confusing if no one is working it and customers walk by the window and you can't tell if they work there or not. Maybe they should prevent customers from going to that window from the employee side. The food is so so good! The fries are super crisp and delicious. Love the falafel and the portion sizes here. The presentation is very aesthetically pleasing. Make sure to ask for their hot sauce! I can never finish a plate in one seating, it always turns into two or three meals for me.

Have you been to Falafel Stop yet? If not, you are missing out. The customer service and food quality are both top-notch. They have also recently opened Italian Ice and Cream in the same parking lot, which is equally amazing. I highly recommend trying both; I am sure you will love them.

The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. This one was disappointing enough to feel worth documenting. My boyfriend and I ended up here after attempting to go to Treehouse nearby (which had an hour wait--unsurprising given the concept). This restaurant was a short walk away, which actually worked out well given how congested the area was, and we walked in optimistic. The space itself is very large, but nearly empty for a weekday evening. It felt family-owned and casual, which I usually love--many of my favorite restaurants fall into that category. Unfortunately, the experience didn't reflect that warmth. We were given a different menu than other diners, which immediately felt odd. Service wasn't overtly rude, but it was noticeably unwelcoming--almost a "why are you here?" tone rather than hospitality. We ordered hummus and feta, both of which were surprisingly expensive for the portion and quality. We were told bread would arrive automatically with the hummus, but it didn't--despite asking multiple times. When it finally arrived, it was poorly cooked and no longer served any purpose, as we were already well into the meal. Despite the restaurant being far from busy, our mains took about 30 minutes. One dish--a kebab--was fine but very forgettable for a $30+ price point. My dish, dumplings in a yogurt-based sauce, was honestly inedible. I left it untouched and mentioned that it didn't taste good. The response was simply, "Oh, so you don't want a box?" No attempt to fix the issue or even acknowledge it. What sealed it for me was the overall condition of the place. Dirty cutlery, a generally rundown interior, and a lack of attention to cleanliness made it uncomfortable to eat there. I'm not picky about ambiance when the food and service deliver--but here, nothing quite worked together. The whole experience felt very turn-and-burn, as if the restaurant relies on proximity to a popular area rather than repeat customers. I left feeling like unless you're part of a specific in-crowd, this isn't a place that's trying very hard to win you over. Personally, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it--especially given the pricing and the many better options nearby.

This review is long overdue, but I feel obligated to share our experience so other families know…read morewhat to expect from Kabob Fusion. My family and I, two adults and two young children, came here during Ramadan for iftaar. Before arriving, I specifically called ahead to ask whether we needed to come early because I understood restaurants can become very busy during iftaar time. I was told that arriving 10 to 15 minutes before iftaar would be perfectly fine and that our food would be ready around the time of breaking fast. Based on that reassurance, we came about 20 minutes before iftaar expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. The restaurant was crowded but not chaotic. We sat down and waited while servers walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us. Eventually, I had to flag someone down myself just to place an order. I even asked directly how long the food would take because we were fasting all day and had two small children with us. The server confidently assured us the food would arrive around iftaar time. That never happened. When iftaar finally arrived, all we received were dates and water. No appetizers, no main dishes, nothing. We continued waiting while table after table around us received their food. Meanwhile, our children became increasingly upset and hungry. Anyone with young kids knows that after a full day of fasting, asking them to wait another 20, 30, even 50 minutes is nearly impossible. Our kids were crying, exhausted, and confused as they watched other families eat while we sat there with empty plates. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of honesty and accountability. Every time we asked about our order, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then eventually the server disappeared entirely for nearly 20 minutes and avoided us altogether. A woman later approached us, but instead of apologizing or taking our concerns seriously, she became dismissive and defensive. By this point, nearly 50 minutes had passed since we ordered, and she still insisted we "shouldn't complain" (in Farsi) because the food would come "soon." That response was honestly more upsetting than the delay itself. A simple apology, honesty, or basic compassion toward a fasting family with small children would have gone a long way. We eventually left the restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. What saddened me most is that this happened during Ramadan, a month centered around patience, generosity, hospitality, and good character. In Afghan culture and Islamic ethics, guests are supposed to be treated with dignity and care, especially during iftaar. Halal is not only about the food being permissible. Halal is also about honesty, fairness, respect, and how people are treated. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all of those areas. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful service or a welcoming family environment.

They got the food out fast and my group really enjoyed it. I personally prefer the chicken shawarma. The service was fantastic and it was our first time. They gave us recommendations and the falafels came out fresh. The place is definitely better than the chain places I've been too. It's in a cozy plaza. Definitely my go to spot in the future.

There are only a few tables outside, so don't go at a busy time if you want outdoor dining. We like the falafel in pita sandwich from here better than a few other local places we tried recently. We recommend you add as many of the following to your pita as you can: Babaganoush Hummus Tahini sauce the spicy sauce Seasoned waffle fries can help stretch the meal. We wouldn't get again: -Achilles sauce: it just tastes like yogurt mixed with garlic. -The falafel plate. It doesn't come with pita, so I ordered pitas and extra falafel so we could make up our own sandwiches the next day. But the plate isn't as generous as I was expecting, given it costs more than the sandwich (yet doesn't include pita). We received a spoonful of babaganoush, maybe 1/4 cup of Achilles sauce and hummus, four falafel, mixed lettuce and some of the pickles, chopped tomato & cucumber, plus turmeric rice. I didn't see any sign of the coleslaw or amba sauce that were supposed to be included, and overall it's just somewhat underwhelming. Next time I want to make up my own sandwiches I will get individual containers of my favorite sauces instead of the plate.
