Had a great meal last week. My wife likes Dave's Sassy BBQ Salad and I had the Jacked-N-Stacked burger. The food was great but we didn't leave room for desert. Our server, Famous Jay was very attentive even though she was very busy. We had a few questions on some menu items and she thoroughly explained the differences. I have given this place personally several attempts, and it's just not good. And then we ordered brisket and our server lied to us. The cooks in the back lied to us tried telling us that it was brisket and clearly we got three servings of tri-tip and no brisket. There's a huge distinct difference between brisket and tri-tip you can see in the pictures below that we were given the exact same meat three different times and they really tried to convince us that it was brisket when in reality it was tri-tip. So we didn't like being lied to you. It'd be one thing if they just said we don't have brisket today that would've been fine. But trying to convince your customers who have been to countless barbecue places that what we were eating was brisket was insane. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because I felt bad for our server even though she was lying to us I felt bad. There's way too many other barbecue places that are 10 times better than this place. The meat was dry. Not flavorful... definitely don't recommend. It's a very casual place more like bar vibes going there for beers and watching the game and eating bar. Food would be more equivalent than it being an actual barbecue food place. And don't order the burnt ends. They are definitely not burnt ends. They're gelatinous piles of cubes that are not rendered down and smoked to have a nice casing on the outside and juicy flavorful center. read more

Haven't been here in a fat minute but coming back was a great time! Even for a Friday night, the wait was next to nothing so we were seated immediately. Amanda was our hostess and she was amazing and friendly. Since it's been a while, she readily assisted us with some recommendations which were tasty and elevated our dining experience. Food came out pretty soon after we ordered. Glad to say that even after ten years the burnt ends are still delicious. Their homemade BBQ chips are flavorful and crisp (great for all the texture folks). The portions were decent and I was quite full. The bread pudding is worthy of its namesake--definitely an award-winning flavor and perfect to fulfill any sweet tooth's craving. My son wanted Famous Dave's at home for his 13th birthday dinner. We absolutely love their food. I was super perplexed on what to order because we had a lot of family coming over. I called in and got super lucky to be helped by one of the managers, Mario Rodriguez! If I could give him 12 stars, I would. He was SO patient, and so accommodating. I changed my order multiple times and he never showed a hint of annoyance. He explained everything to me so thoroughly! When I got there I realized the brownies I had ordered for my son's dessert had walnuts in them, which he's allergic to. Famous Dave's sure isn't famous for their portion sizes. In fact, I'm not sure WHAT they are still famous for. The hubby and I stopped in late on a Wednesday evening to grab dinner. I've never been impressed with FD in the past, but decided to give them another shot. The restaurant was near empty and there was only an oddly-placed camera at the hostess stand that must alert the hostess from the back when guests arrive inside. (A little 21st century tackiness, but ok!) We were seated in a requested quiet spot due to our newborn and were attended to right away from our server who was friendly. It wasn't until our meals arrived that our experience went south. I was shocked at how small the portion sizes were for the price we paid. (I know I'm a hungry breastfeeding momma these days, but even my husband was shocked.) Additionally, my small cut of tri-tip was tough to cut and eat and had to be slathered in sauce for flavor, the Mac n' cheese side was a few bites, and I counted 8 tater tots in total as another side (all for $24). Apparently you can only get the Tri-tip well done due to the method of preparation, but it was so disappointing. We will definitely not be returning in the future as there are many more better BBQ spots in the area. read more

Worst experience ever! We dined for Mother's Day. We ordered a family feast with chicken and ribs. They dropped our food and immediately left without asking if we needed anything else. The ribs were missing. They left us with no utensils or plates. Our food got cold. No one looked our way to flag down. I had to call the restaurant to tell them to send someone to our table. It took 15 more minutes to get the ribs. Our food was cold. I spoke with the manager and she was full of excuses for her staff. She offered a side of BEANS to compensate. I was in town for work and found myself watching a benefit concert for the recent floods in Texas--where I live. The music and the stories of loss hit hard. It was emotional, and before I realized it, it was 7:45 PM and I hadn't made a dinner plan. I walked across the parking lot from my hotel to Famous Dave's Barbecue, not knowing they closed at 8. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer. The bartender kindly let me know they were about to close. I offered to leave and find somewhere else, but she smiled and said not to worry there were still people around, and as long as I got my order in quickly, I was welcome to stay. That small act of kindness meant more than she could've known. I ordered a pork sandwich and a cold beer, and it turned out to be the best thing I had all day. Comfort food at exactly the right time. Any other person might've turned me away, but she didn't. I didn't catch her name, but I'm sure management will know who she is. I'm truly grateful for her warmth and hospitality. Decided to eat here before going to Imaginarium. The place was empty and service was great. We got the sampler platter and a couple of kids meals. My niece did not care for the mac and cheese and I decided to try it, and wow, she was right, it was so bland and horrible. The sampler platter was a mix of good and bad things. I really liked the chicken wings and onion strings. The side of cornbread was super dry and did not care for it. I recently moved to the area and I have been here a few times the last 3 months. I love the corn bread appetizer they bring. Is it moist and very flavorful. I also love their jalapeno Mac n cheese. It is creamy and has a little kick. You can also order it without jalapenos. My favorite item is the pulled chicken bbq sandwich. It is hardy and filling. I always leave here with a full belly. Never has there been a time that I've walked into Famous Dave's in the floor and tables were not sticky. Besides the very very small portions of side items they're overpriced but then again the ribs are very good juicy tender most of the time but today both brisket and Rib chips were very dry and besides Dickies they're usually probably one of the best in town. We need to do better with their floor and table stickyness cleanliness. Their portion size are inconsistent and I think them charging the price that they charge they could be more consistent and fair with their portion size. read more
