Around eight years ago, I used to come here at least twice a week when I worked down the street. I moved jobs and I stopped coming as frequently but I still came when I was in the area. Anyways, today, I ordered a pizza and got there around 3:30ish and I could not find parking anywhere. The high school next-door just got out and the cars and the kids were swarming. The lady was so nice that she brought me the pizza out to my car when I called. I couldn't find parking and I felt so bad. The pizza was ok, but the antipasto salad was just a bunch of lettuce and didn't come with half the ingredients it should have. Including dressing. This place must have a new owner, as the pizza I received did not look like any photos on any reviews. If the place was not a local business the pie would have been returned immediately. We still have the whole pizza minus the two slices we bit into. The first sign should have been the rancid smell in my car, instead of smell of fresh baked pizza. It was a smell of something that was cooked in dirty oil just for context or a dirty refrigerator. When we bent down to smell the pie closer, there was zero smell of pizza, jut an off putting smell, but you could tell you were smelling food if you were blindfolded. There was zero seasoning in the sauce which was a blessing because it did not disguise the bitter old taste of the other rancid ingredients. This is by far the worst pizza for flavor profile and amount of ingredients for the extra charge ever purchased in my 70 years. Will go across the street to Pizza Hut from now on if I want something mediocre. Sadly this pie is so bad, it cannot even rise to mediocre. That said, the staff could not be more friendly. I hope they read this review. The pie will be donated to an unhoused camp, but I feel bad for serving something so horrible even to them. read more

I happened to win an Instagram contest so I used it to share a pizza party with some friends at Petco to celebrate all the kindness they showed my pup, Koko. Today was my first visit to Famous Pizza but certainly won't be my last! I've driven by plenty of times during my time in Sacramento but they were closed for a bit due to a driver plowing through the front of their store. Luckily, they've survived and are up and running and their pizza is great! First things: you can order in person or online, but if you order online you can do it on their website or through an app called Slice for 5% off. Their website has a variety of deals on their online menu, from Monday and Tuesday specials, to carry out only specials (as opposed to delivery). I noticed they do half and half speciality pizzas which is the route I went, as I wanted to try a few options. After looking at their menu, I went with a half Mexican Taco pizza and half Famous Chicken pizza. Both are loaded with meat and veggies and come with different sauces, so I thought this would be a good way to try some variety. I ordered ahead as they opened at 11 AM was quoted for a ready time between 11:18 and 11:36. I left my place around 11:15 and got there at 11:25. Parking was easy and they have a parking lot as well as a "loading zone" on the side street right next to Famous Pizza - presumably for pick up orders and delivery drivers. I parked there and walked in and was the only customer in. The employee behind the counter asked if I was Lucas and told me my order had just come out. As he handed it to me, he also said I could get a free soda with it. Awesome! I wasn't expecting that, but was definitely up for a free soda. I saw they had RC Cola, something I haven't had in forever, so I went with that. There wasn't any seating inside and the store was mostly empty, so I took my pizza to-go. I opened it up to snap some pics in my car and ate a slice of both the Taco Pizza and the Famous Chicken Pizza. Both were great! What I liked about the Taco Pizza in particular was the fresh shredded lettuce. It was quality and really made it feel and taste like a taco. The Chicken Pizza also had a lot of veggies, including green onion and tomato, which was great. I'm a big fan of having both veggies and meats on my pizzas, when possible. I ate two slices before I left, and saved the rest for later. I've since had a few more slices at home and I can honestly say that the pizza holds up well - the crust especially! I'd absolutely order from Famous Pizza again and will make sure to take advantage of their online specials when I do! read more

For over two decades, Famous has fed the children of Land Park--those noble heirs of soccer games, birthday parties, sleepovers, and Stranger Things binges. I became a fan of Famous Pizza back when I went to Mcclatchy High School. Nothing against Round Table, but Famous was the place to go! It has been many years since I had eaten there and I know it was closed for a bit due to renovations. My daughter and I finally decided to order from there last week and we were not disappointed! I did a standard call-in order over the phone, the man who answered was incredibly sweet! I ordered a medium half cheese(for my daughter), and a half combination(for me), plus an order of their cheesy breadsticks. The pizza was delivered within 45 minutes, if not a bit earlier and the delivery guy was so sweet that I made sure to tip him a bit extra than I was originally going to. The pizza and breadsticks were hot, fresh, and if possible, even more delicious than what I remember. My 11-year old can be a bit picky at times, but even she said we need to start ordering from here more often. Not gonna lie, after writing this, I might have to order this for us for dinner tonight. Awesome pizzas. The famous chicken one is the one to get. Nice soft fluffy crust, plenty of chicken The supreme was good, but crust was a little tough. Currently going thru some renovations, but the pizzas were tasty. Service was excellent. For how many pizzas were in the oven and a small line inside, they were quick to notice and asked if I needed any help within 2mins of getting into the store. Ambiance should be changing with the renovations that will be going on. They will be closed for a few for renovations. We'll see how it goes. When they finally reopened, I went to grab pizza. Fresh, not too greasy, ordered the meatlovers and veggie and was given a free liter drink. It's pretty bare inside, wish the menu was up on the wall. Great customer service, parking out front. Maybe because they just remodeled to expand they still haven't put up menus. This pizza place should be infamous. One of the worst pizzas I have ever had!! It tasted slightly worse than Little Ceaser's, which is pretty subpar pizza for me. And their customer service/accommodations is nonexistent. I asked for no artichokes, and of course there were artichokes on it everywhere. So I ordered through the app. I'm am idiot and accidentally entered in the address next door. I called and the guy was nice about it and told me I had to deal with the app folks. First time trying out this local pizza. Picked up a medium speciality pizza and a cheese garlic bread for $25 , came with a free 2 litter soda. On the drive home the garlic bread got me and I ate couple of pieces (it just smelled so appealing and was hot fresh). The pizza ingredients were fresh and the dough was cooked thoroughly, no complaints at all. Although some might consider $25 on the pricier side for a medium and a garlic bread, I think it's well worth the price.
