Used to love this restaurant. Open year round, great views, good food, good service. Not anymore. Had one of the worst experiences in a restaurant. The kitchen and manager should be fired. A salad was ordered sans raw onions. The salad that arrived had half a cup on it. The waiter apologized and said he'd have another made. He brought back the same salad. The kitchen tried to pick out the onions, which was impossible as there were so many, probably using dirty fingers. When the main dish arrived, it was wrong: it was supposed to arrive without nuts. The person who ordered it has a deadly nut allergy, epipen on hand. The waiter apologized and came back with an allegedly new plate. Nope. Same plate, most, but not all nuts scraped off. The manager came over and insisted it was a new plate from a different table that canceled (wtf?), trying to explain the quick turnaround. Straight up lied. Luckily my friend noticed and didn't eat any. They offered to make a new plate, but my friend, who worked in the business for years, didn't want to risk getting a meal with spit in it, and instead went home hungry. The rest of us had ok meals. Definitely not the quality it used to be. Seriously, Paul, fire that manager. He could have killed my friend! Your place has turned into a dive. read more

Went here for lunch on our 20th anniversary, had been there for dinner in the past. It looks like they have done a really great job recovering from the damage to the building, it's a great view overlooking the water. Prices for lunch were quite reasonable considering how Ptown restaurant prices are. Had a scallop poboy which was delicious, while my wife loved her fish reuben. The menu is diverse and outstanding and the service was right on time, didn't feel rushed and at the same time very responsive. Have no idea how you can ruin something so basic as meatloaf but they do a good job ruining it. Mom's best meatloaf, per the menu, was watery mushy chopped meat falling apart. The beef gravy used was a heavy, dark inappropriate beef gravy. The beef portion was extremely small but should admit their mashed potatoes, which took up most of the plate, was excellent. read more

Great over the water dining room with terrific views. However, the service for last evening's dinner was abrupt and we felt quite rushed and the food was sub-par. The chicken Parmesan was tasteless and the pasta with it was so over cooked it was mushy and also tasteless. The Seafood Alfredo was unremarkable and certainly not worth $32.00. The menu says shrimp, lobster and scallops yet there was absolutely no lobster at all. There were two other dinners which were just okay. It always feels bad sharing a review like this but also needs to be shared. We went based on a recommendation, unfortunately we cannot say same. read more

This was another of several restaurants that we tried while we were staying up in Provincetown. It's actually right on the water and we watched the tide come in underneath us as we were eating. We both had a glass of wine and we both had burgers. I had the naked burger with lettuce and tomato and sautéed onions and I came with french fries and my partner had a blue cheeseburger With fried shallots. I thought the burger and the fries were very good and the burger had great flavor. My partner enjoyed his except that he thought the fried shallots were more like burned shallots. I would like to go back in the future because I'm a meatloaf person and they have meatloaf on the menu. The restaurant is fairly small but it has a great view of the ocean. It look like they had a lively bar crowd on a Sunday night also. Overall I think we had a good experience here. read more

Wonderful lunch on patio. Had a Caesar salad with salmon, partner had a pesto chicken wrap, both very fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Felt completely COVID safe, servers wore masks and they provided masks for people who forgot theirs. Next time will request the outdoor table overlooking the beach! I've been here before but I definitely find it over-rated. Today I was looking for a quick bite before my play. Fanizzi's is within walking distance so I decided to go - remembering the fantastic view. Got there apparently 5:15pm on a Monday...it was slow when I got there and and was filling up when I left at 6:15ish. A problem I encounter often as a "single diner" is restaurants not willing or "able" to seat me in prime areas. There was two "2 tops" available with a water view for nearly the entire I was there but I was "not allowed to sit there due to reservations" I felt like calling on the phone to see if there was anything available with a water view for a party of two but I did not. The food... I love bloody Mary's they do not make a Bloody Mary that is anywhere near good here...I had to return it...I've never done that before...I ordered a beer. For a restaurant on the water I expected more local seafood, specifically raw oysters and other appetizer type items... I ended up ordering meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a fresh veggie, which came with a clam chowder...MEATLOAF at a restaurant in front of the ocean! The mashed were great, the veggies were as promised fresh BUT the meatloaf was the worst I have ever tasted. The. Holder was not hot enough and I didn't want to send it back after refusing the Bloody Mary. The flavor and the texture of the meatloaf was off putting! NEVER AGAIN! read more

I was very disappointed in the fried scallops. They were overdone and small, the French fries were McDonalds quality. Also, the fact that the server never brought a table of 6 any bread was quite disappointing. Dinner out is an expensive outing these days and should be an experience to be remembered not forgotten. Been coming to Fanizzi's since 2004, anytime we're in Provincetown, which is typically 2-3 times per year. We came in for an early dinner on 7/6/2021 and had another great experience. We had a table by the window, right near the water. Really beautiful setting, just a lovely atmosphere. There were 5 of us and we were all very happy with our meals and drinks. Martin was a fantastic server! Very personable and attentive. We all agreed that we will be back again and again. We've been enjoying the great views and food at Fanizzi's for years. At high tide it feels like you're on a ship. Last night, we got a couple seats at the bar (suggest a reservation, but the bar is first come first serve and we lucked out!) The two people working the bar were fun and charming and relaxed. I've ordered fish many ways at Fanizzi's, but last night was the BEST cod dish I've had. It was off the specials menu - baked with fennel and cheddar cheese on top with roasted veg and rice. This was our 1st visit to Provincetown and our kids are picky eaters, so I'm glad I stumbled upon Fanizzi's. This was the best lunch we've had in a longtime. I had the Rueben w/turkey and it was so tasty...the fries are great and the coleslaw is so good...it's pickled so it has a tang to it, but very good. My husband had the cod sandwich and loved it, my son had the buffalo wings which he said were really good and our youngest had the pasta, which of course he said was good. Jack was our waiter and he couldn't have been nicer. The atmosphere was great and the view is on the water! If we return to P-town, it's a place we'll definitely go again. Pretty good place right on the water for a wonderful last meal in P-Town. The salmon, rice, and Brussels sprouts needed some sauce but ask for the lemon vinaigrette to pour over it and it tastes very good! Cajun seafood Alfredo was incredible with huge shrimp and scallops. Zucchini bisque was very good and not super rich. Burrata app was so good with roasted tomatoes and peaches. Would recommend! read more

First time there yesterday, happy to get bar seat without a long wait. Greeted by the Bar Tender Billy, a personable and professional server indeed. Food and view was excellent!! We had great drinks and fun for my night out... My complaint here is how we were treated by the waitstaff. This is coming from someone (me) who has been in and out of the industry for 15+ years. Our server seemed to have an issue with our party of 5 girls from the beginning we sat down. Wasn't nice, personable or helpful and felt that I had done something to bother him. It wasn't until we asked what is a good spot for bachelorette parties that I realized why he had been so unpleasant the entire dinner... he explained to me that I should take my sash off and that no one will want serve me, let me in, etc. because I'm in a bachelorette party. Now keep in mind, we are all professional women in our 30s, not dressed provocatively, not acting like "the stereotypical 20 something Bach party" I just had a sash on.. (Not that that should matter anyhow.) I'm from the cape and have seen many types of parties being greeted with nothing but a smile and congratulations on my nights out in Ptown. I was so appalled by what he said, but we all just said thanks and didn't bother to say anything to him about his comments. After that, even though we wanted to order a martini for dessert, we were handed the check and then a stare down for us to get up. Very unfortunate- went to Governor Bradfords And just like I thought, was greeted with nothing but love even with my sash on. Went for dinner and ordered the braised short ribs, a $30 dish. It ended up being this small piece of fatty meat and when I cut into it, the meat was ice cold. Like as if it came out of the fridge from some other day. How unappetizing. On top of that the server we had was not friendly at all. You would have thought that they'd try to compensate for the mistake in the kitchen but sadly no. This was my husband and I's second time at the restaurant this season and the first meal they messed up his burger order. We excused it and thought to give it another try but we're disappointed again. So needless to say we won't be returning. read more

I was very disappointed with the service at Fanizzi's restaurant as we went for our last night in Provincetown this past week. My partner Michael, and our close friends went to eat at your establishment on Friday at 8 pm in what started out as a wonderful dining experience that unexpectedly turned south. We placed our orders for drinks and appetizers after being seated outside when we began to be attacked by mosquitoes. While the server went back to allow us to start eating over the course of 25 minutes, I must have been bitten at least 15-20 times in different locations... my neck, the back of my arms, forehead and around my ankles. After being bitten numerous times and asking that our seating be changed to indoors, we were told that there was nothing available inside, but noted that a group of three, without reservations, were granted in-door seating. We decided to leave before the main course because the mosquitoes posed an intolerable situation. Upon leaving, my partner, asked to speak to the manager, who was at the host desk to inform him of our situation. The manager appeared uncaring, did not offer an accommodation or even apologize. I love coming to Provincetown annually because it is one of the places I can rely on to provide great customer service and eat extraordinary meals. Just a great big "eh." Service was so so. Waiter did the bare minimum to get his tip. I had mussels and linguine. Mussels were the smallest I've ever seen and the pasta was floating in broth. Hard to eat without getting it all over you. Husband had chick parm. Barely any sauce on the pasta. Our chowder bowls were half full. We weren't offered bread. Just eh eh eh. We came to Fanizzi's on one of our first nights in Provincetown. I had taken advantage of their early bird special, you must be seated and have your order in by 6:00 pm. With the early bird special, you get soup or salad, bread rolls, a choice of a main dish, and tea or coffee for $15.95. I had the clam chowder to start, which was terrific and the accompanying rolls were warm and tasty. My main was the salmon topped with a wonderful creamy dill and cucumber dressing. The salmon also came with jasmine rice and Brussels sprouts. For my drink, I had the sassy sangria, which was very good and I'm fussy with my sangrias. My boyfriend had the burger and fries, which he said was cooked perfectly and very delicious. Fanizzi's has now become our new favorite dinner place in Provincetown, and we can't wait to come back here next year!! We went to a number of different eating places on our recent trip to the Cape, but I will single out Fanizzi's, the only place we went went to more than once...four times, to be exact. Right now, the biggest issue on the Cape seems to be service, so I'll give all the other places a pass, but Fanizzi's stands out for maintaining its high level of service, along with its uniformly well prepared food, special ambiance, and fair prices. I was especially impressed with their delicious cod cakes, which were spiced just right, with lovely chunks of fish encased in a light breading. I've been coming here for the past ten years, and I just don't know how they keep up their quality, the demands must be overwhelming at times. Their clientele seems to skew older, but that's a plus in my book! Thanks, Fanizzi's, for making our time on the Cape memorable, once again! read more

I got some food here to go, and I got the fish & chips myself, and it was delicious!! Cooked beautifully & the fries were nice and crispy. My family enjoyed the rest of their food too! Decently priced, and it was considerably good, especially for take out (because we all know the quality of take out isnt as good as when you sit down and eat). I appreciate the assortment of condiments as well! The addition of mayo and dijon mustard packets (as well as ketchup of course) elevated the taste.
