The garden atmosphere is lovely. You dine under a trellis of fairy lights and bougainvillea. And on certain evenings and lunch times, they have wonderful musicians provide soft background music. They also have an interior space which is nice as well (and air conditioned), but the real charm is the garden, where my maltipoo, Bella, is always spoiled (she especially loves the fries). Parking can be challenging, so, I recommend going just before or just after the breakfast, lunch or dinner rush. I live in the neighborhood, but I have friends who drive from DTLA, Hollywood , West L.A. and even farther away to meet me there just for coffee (try the Vanilla Latte - yum), a lavender lemonade or a glass of wine and a plate of chicken wings (cooled in different styles). The owners and their family work there, too, and always make me, my dog and my friends feel so welcomed and special. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Other orders, flatbread pizza, a breakfast burrito, and eggs Benedict. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Price point was in line with other restaurants. They serve beer and wine, and mimosas. I'm given options like 10%, 15%, 18%, or 20%--but how am I supposed to know what level of service deserves 10% versus 20% when the service hasn't happened yet? If I choose 10% and the service is excellent, I may feel like I should have tipped more. If I choose 20% and the service is poor, I feel like I've overpaid. Ironically, this system makes me more likely to choose a conservative tip every time. I'd much rather have the option to tip after the service is provided, when I can actually evaluate the experience. My recommendation: keep the QR ordering if you want, but move the tipping option to the end of the meal, after the service has been provided. That would make tipping feel more fair and meaningful.

The interior was very clean with exposed brick and lots of earth tones. Ordering our food and drinks we saw that the work area was clean and organized. Our server was helpful enough to not put chilli flakes on my friend's avocado toast. We ordered our food & drinks and got a number to take to our table. We ate outside and had a pleasant time. Great place to people watch.

And the glass of wine was a nice pour and a decent wine. I like that they let you in for something to drink before officially opening for the day. Cue record scratch... now about that food. No, we did not order the wrong thing and no, IMO, they were not just having a bad day. Look at these Huevos Rancheros with "house hash, tostadas and 3 eggs"... those are chips (I think from a bag of tortilla chips) so not really a tostada, no way there were three eggs in that thing (from what I could see)... not sure what the "house hash" is but nothing I could identify on the plate. I know a lot of people might leave a restaurant and say "I could have made that at home" but there is no way I would make something this crappy at home. LOOK at this Avocado Toast with "avocado spread"... that is some thin smear of something green but when you are calling something "Avocado Toast" there should be a substantial amount of the hero ingredient (and maybe not call it "avocado spread" on your menu description. To me, that says, "Look we don't want to call this a "rustic mash of avocado" or "Hass smash" or "hand-crushed ripe avocado" because we know you are actually going to SEE it in front of you in about 15 minutes and "avocado spread" won't lead to a major disappointment." But it did. And this slab of dry plywood that they were calling toast. I turned to my wife and in my best Sebastian Manascalco said, "Why would you do that??" This place mostly failed on food. The food at the other tables looked equally pathetic. Gotta say... all of the cooked egg components of each dish were decent but the rest of the items were like WTF? Ambiance? It's OK... I mean it was a bar with a ton of TVs going. Semi-nice vibe for a sports bar... lots of room. Just can't get over the food. We ate about half of our sodium bombs and left. But parts of the eggs were lovely... as was Kelley.

Wanted to give 5 stars cuz I'm really pullin for this place! Truthfully, cuz of the food I would've given 2. But I know what it's like to start a business and you can feel their hearts are in the right place. I know from experience you have to weed through management til you find a good fit and this place obviously had a management problem. (A fish stinks from the head down). Why no real breakfast place option guys? Only a breakfast sandwich, which you have to special order so it comes like an egg breakfast. And then the scrambled eggs come looking like cardboard and as cold. The breakfast potatoes lack flavor, too much onion and red pepper fillers, but still flat. And cold. The avocado toast... a balsamic drizzle or what was that. Odd pairing on small baguette slices. The pancakes were amazing, but it's hard to screw up pancakes. It just seems like they need to do some taste testing and weed out the dull options. Do the owners come in for tastings? They should. Like I said, you get the feeling that one day soon they'll get it right, I just hope people are willing to overlook a first, bad impression and keep this place moving forward. I've always said a great breakfast place would kill it in this area, so I really am pulling for this place and I will keep going back to support it through early transitions. BTW we saw two people send their food back while we were there and chose not to send ours back, cuz.. we felt bad!!! The staff is really great. Girls at the counter are friendly and when you ask why no normal breakfast options they kinda don't know how to answer, cuz they kinda know it's weird. Decor is so lovely, super great vibe. Someone put money and thought into the creative atmosphere! The women's bathroom is pretty, but not clean, which was a bummer. The base of the pedestal sink filled with dirt and hair. And a plastic framed mirror? Dunno how you can spend all that money to make such a pretty bathroom and then not take care of it or follow through with the details. I know it sounds picky, but people notice that and it sends a message of carelessness. It did to me, it will to someone else. Regardless of anything, me and my friends will keep coming back. We know we found a gem in the valley away from the insanity of Ventura Blvd. If they can get the menu right (prices are steep, but I don't mind if I'm gettin quality food) then this place will do well. I'm a fan guys! Get a good and passionate GM in there and you'll smash it! read more

We came to Farm Table with a recommendation from a friend, and boy we were not let down. The atmosphere has a very homestyle rustic feel to it. When you walk in the staff in the front greet you at a counter where you place your order. You can see through a doorway the kitchen where they are making your food. The menu itself is very large and slightly overpriced for counter service. But the selections of coffees and lattes are nice. They also have a small bakery case with desserts and fresh baked goods. We bought a blueberry muffin to split and it was very flavorful. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, & the byob sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the biscuits had changed from English muffins to real biscuits. (Since past reviews have since they were made with English muffins) the gravy seemed very bland and tasteless. Maybe more ground sausage and salt? But the two little biscuits were very delightful. And my eggs were perfectly scrambled. I did not care for the turkey link sausage though. Maybe switch to a pork sausage to go with the gravy? My friends byob came out a bit cold but he said that the bun itself was very tasty and that his over easy eggs were perfect. The "truffle" sauce didn't have much of a truffle flavor to them and it was a bit greasy. Next time he will stick to getting just a regular cheese. He enjoyed the breakfast potatoes, nice and hot and crispy. With that being said we will definitely be back. The wait was a bit long for breakfast. They have only been open for a few months and are trying to find there own groove. 5 stars to opening a fantastic restaurant. read more

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We waited approximately 40 minutes for a table, only to watch other parties without reservations be seated ahead of us. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the poor service. The waffles were cold, as if the food had been sitting out for quite some time before being served. The rest of the food was also cold, the eggs contained eggshells, and the potatoes were undercooked and hard. Overall, the food was mediocre at best. What made the experience even worse was the interaction with management. When we politely asked to speak with a manager regarding the inedible food, he immediately assumed we were looking for a discount on the entire bill, which was never the case. We only requested that the non-edible items be removed. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager was rude, condescending, and unprofessional throughout the interaction. The atmosphere among the staff also felt tense and aggressive, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. While I understand it was Mother's Day and likely very busy, that should not be used as an excuse for poor food quality or unprofessional customer service. This was honestly one of the worst breakfast experiences I've had, and based on this visit, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Up front I'll say that I am really hoping this restaurant does well. We desperately need more places like it in the heart of Van Nuys. Here's what I thought was good: coffee (rich, well brewed), field panini (nice flavor, but it does not have that wonderful crunchy condensed texture of a pressed sandwich), and their outstanding asian fresh tuna salad (a poke style special?). Here's what I thought was mediocre: pastrami sandwich (meat not flavorful, bread not fresh), caesar salad (dry, not nearly enough dressing), and both soups I've tried are lacking; tomato basil (acidic beyond reason), potato cheddar (pasty in taste and texture). I will keep coming back for awhile in the hopes that the kitchen gets better. A WARNING - if you go in mid-afternoon there is not enough staff to see that patrons are properly taken care of, which is a management problem. ALSO - They have installed an up-front tipping system at the cash register. You will feel pressure to tip then and there, before you've received any food or service. If you're service or food is lacking, too bad, you've already laid your money down. (Note: I rarely tip less than 20% and often times more, but I feel this reversed system is patently unfair and truly diminishes the incentive of the restaurant's staff.) read more

Was out in Van Nuys today with my brother and stopped by to have lunch. When we arrived there was already a line and a pretty full dinning room. Since it was counter service there are no waitresses so you have to stand in line to order from girls by the registers. While waiting in line you can see the kitchen through an entry way. They all seemed very busy with lots of conversation over the orders and lots of tickets in the window! As we finally approached the registers we were told that the wait for food was going to be about 20 mins. One of the registers has crashed and they were trying to get it back up and running and that the kitchen was running behind. We we not in a rush to it didn't bother us but you can tell it was bothering others. With a menu that large we made sure to try and order someone as easy and possible. 2 sandwiches and drinks. We got our food in about 20 minutes just like the girl told us we would. Everything was fantastic. Fresh and full of flavor. I really like the shoe string fries! Even with the longer wait time we will definitely be back! If you don't want to wait, do go during lunch time. read more

Wow what a find..... you would never imagine this kind of restaurant to be in this kind of neighborhood but im so glad it is since I conduct a lot of business in that area it's very convenient for breakfast lunch or just coffee and let me tell you I can taste good coffee and it was GREAT!!!!! I couldn't decide what to eat since I was craving oatmeal but also wanted to try a breakfast bowl as well so I figured since I had some time I would hang out have some coffee enjoy 2 plates and get some work done and that's exactly what I did the restaurant is big enough and so much natural light that it feels comfortable to just hang out for a bit.... anyways back to the food I got the Asian oatmeal and the Greek bowl and I must say they were both AMAZING and so FRESH I was so delightfully surprised that not only was the restaurant itself great and so clean but they had the food to match. Dear Farm Table, we welcome you to our neighborhood, what an amazing place. I was very surprised to see this kind of a concept here. I was walking to the city hall when i noticed this beautiful modern wooden store front that attracted me in. My God what a surprise inside, very warm coffee shop feel to it. i was pleased the minute i walked in, felt like i was on the other side of the hill (hollywood, weho) area. Staff was very helpful, i noticed the chef had a special today so decided to try it. What a great choice it was, Creamed spinach with coddled egg lox and black sea salt. My dish was something to remember and go back for. It wasn't just a counter service, it felt like a chef drivin restaurant. Finally a place that actually knows how to make a real burger!!! I ordered the Son of a Farmer Burger and added an extra patty to it with a side of sweet potato fries and an ice-tea. The food came out really quick, fresh and hot. But what I loved most was the burger. It was exactly what I was looking for. Completely perfect. I will make the drive regularly to get it again. It's that good!! There's a certain way to make a burger and they know how to do it. I can't explain how hard it is to find the perfect burger. I finally found the spot! Really, really nice inside, super clean, and the staff was awesome. They went out of their way to make sure that I was taken care of, thank you guys! Some of the food like the ham burrito and the classic cheeseburger (but i feel like its not hard to mess those items up). My friend's potatoes with their dish were overly salted. My sister got the Avocado Egg Benedict, that was unseasoned except for her potatoes that were overly salted as well. Lastly my boyfriend got their pork chop skillet her said that his pork chop was burned and dry, the vegetables were soggy. The last thing that socked us was the 19% gradtiety I was going to tip either way but for the service staff took 30 minutes to get are drink (it was not packed at all they probably had 4 other tables) and it took them another 50 minutes to get our food, by the way the table next to us that waa setted 20 minutes affter us gor their food before us. read more

3.5 They have the means to do well. The place has a theme going, or at least a target. But I think they're missing that target a bit. Farm table uses a lot of paper napkins and plastic cups for a "farm to table spot" if you ask me. Also, a lot of mayo, or garlic aioli, on both sides of the bread for the chicken sandwich. I'd suggest dialing it down and let guests ask for more if they want extra. On a positive note: Customer service was good. The girls working did a good job at explaining and being patient with my girlfriend's menu questions. She was happy with her tuna salad and her banana latte. The place is good. I just think it needs some minor tweaks. read more

well, they listened and adjusted the menu, breakfast all day... table service, and some ingredient changes, and they got rid of the crappy avocado mash no one likes and everyone hates and now serve regular avocado that hasnt been soaked in limes for 3 weeks 9 days under a full moon. whoever thought that was a good idea is probably from new Jersey, know why New Yorkers do not believe in heaven? Because New Jersey is the light at the end of their tunnel. I tried the pork Eggs Benedict and while the dish had a delightful presentation and a unique twist with the pork, I couldn't help but notice that it was a tad too salty for my taste. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, complementing the savory pork. However, the excessive saltiness somewhat overpowered the other flavors, leaving me craving a bit more balance in the seasoning. Despite this minor setback, I appreciate the creativity in their menu and would be eager to try some of their other offerings in the future. read more

Visited the farm table restaurant after hearing about its grand opening under new ownership, and boy, was it a pleasant surprise! The familiar farm vibe still intact, but now with a hint of Mexican fusion - like a culinary fiesta. Prices are a tad friendlier, which is always a plus. Went here to study and get a coffee and was very upset with my coffee. I paid over $5 for a cold brew coffee and the coffee was extremely syrupy and bitter. I drink my coffee black so there was no way to hide the horrible taste. I asked for another one and the worker did something to the machine then gave me a new coffee and it was still horrible. Super bummed because the place is walking distance from my apartment but I will not be returning due to the coffee that I wasn't even able to drink. read more

Diferent. Not exactly the greatest. Nice small presentation plates though. Ordered an avocado toast which had the ingredients separated to avoid soaging toast, big high five, but had a side of picked shallots that the flavor didn't really blend in with the rest of the stuff. But thats just my point of view. Btw, the cashier girl (the one in brown hair & glasses) has a rushing actitude while elderly people are ordering, needs to understand they are slower than others. read more

We had a great breakfast here. Comfortable modern farmhouse style and friendly help. Everything was fresh and prepared as requested. The steak on the Steak and Eggs plate was a thick, juicy, tasty flat iron cut cooked medium rare instead of the usual tasteless thin excuse for a steak. Smashed Yukon gold potatoes with parmesan shavings were another treat. Altogether, a satisfying experience. We'll be back to try lunch. They close at 4 pm. read more

Very disappointed with the service and the food. They claim to be vegan friendly but there is only one vegan choice, and it is oily quinoa Mix burger patty serving size is as small as a slider and it was so bad that I did not finish the breakfast potatoes are not so bad, the fruit is not fresh so how can the they claim to be Farm fresh. Came in for Mother's Day with my family of course! the wait was a while but the food was so worth it and our waitress Maria was super attentive and nice, my dad couldn't get over the food and even though it was really busy our food came out pretty fast ! Went into farm table today just thinking I'd try a new burger place. And I absolutely was not disappointed. The burger was cooked just right and the seasoning on the fries was delicious. The staff was also very polite while I decided what I wanted to order and the service was very nice. Love the environment and will definitely be coming back soon. read more

I took my family for the first time this weekend and unfortunately not the experience I expected. My kids got served non ripe bananas, the red sauce on the Chilaquiles was horrible. Not to mention they included the gratuity tip. It seems this restaurant is under New Management and I will definitely not be coming back to eat. read more
