Did you ever have one of those days where it just seemed like everything was going your way? The stars were aligning, the sun was shining, and life was good and easy? I had one of those days yesterday thanks entirely to Kidus at Fastline Shipping. I had just come back from a girls' trip in Mexico and wanted to send our friend there a thank you gift for hosting/translating/tolerating us. Came here at 2:45pm and had the little shop to myself. It is set up just like a mom and pop with many different options and services crammed into a small footprint. Mack greeted me warmly as I entered the store and took care of me faster than any of the other shipping centers I have been using--UPS, FedEx or USPS. We joked about Pokemon Go as I checked in on Yelp and Mack told me he pretty much gets unlimited Pokeballs because there is a Pokestop just outside his shop at the sculpture! Mack priced out the two options available to me for International Express Courier Services and completed the transaction in minutes. Then he gave me a quote for an cracked iPad Screen repair. During this time, 2 other customers had walked in. Mack greeted them, prepared my shipment, and bantered simultaneously with grace and ease. The final amount was about 10$ higher than I am used to paying, but I will happily pay this for the convenience and expertise. Add to the fact that this store is near my neighborhood, and parking is easy, I am now directing all future courier business here. ADDENDUM: Met the owner of the shop, Fedi, the last two times I came to this store. He is soft-spoken, professional and offers helpful advice. He suggested that I use DHL to courier documents to China from now on as the service is more reliable, and customer service is responsive. Golden! read more

My husband dropped a package there today. He asked them to scan it in or a provide a receipt like UPS or Fedex does when you drop off a package. The owner, Farid, refuses to do it stating that the courier would be there to pick all the DHL packages within 30 minutes. He told my husband just leave it among other DHL packages. Later that evening, I checked the tracking number on the DHL phone number, and it shows that the item has not been received by DHL. I needed some help printing/sizing a passport photo I shot at home, and with a phone call and emailed image, was able to come in and pick up what I needed very quickly. The person there understood just what I needed, and was able to provide it swiftly, pleasantly, and at a reasonable price. (They can also shoot passport photos there.) This is a new business, open about a month. The owner, Farid, is pleasant and helpful. I stopped by to ship a package to Rio de Janiero. I was going to use the US Postal Service, but was told DHL is the best way carrier to use for international shipments. Fastlines also handles USPS and FedEx in addition to DHL. Farid weighed my package and told me it'd be a whopping $225 for about 4 pounds of "stuff". Ouch! So, I began taking "stuff" out and watched the price and weight go down. At 2 pounds, it was $142 to send my package to Rio. What's ironic, the items cost way less than the shipping, but hey, a framed photo of me is priceless, no? I'll be back to send more packages with Fastlines and Farid. He also carries basic office supplies and greeting cards. read more

Came here to send some documents international through DHL. Looked online and UPS is cheaper, but DHL is faster by two days. When they rang me up, they said it costs $149, when online, DHL listed $120. I thought it must be a markup since its an independent shop. No problem, help the economy a little. When the documents didn't arrive on the promised scheduled day, I wondered what was wrong. After checking tracking, it was still in the US. I called them and they too checked tracking. The guy told me he will call DHL to find out what is going on an call me back. I didn't hear back from him, so after 3 hours, I called him back. He said to wait for two days for the delivery. I then called DHL myself and they apologized and will call me with estimates. The package arrived about 4 days late, DHL contacted me regularly until it arrived. This shop never called me back and likely lied about calling DHL. Why pay more if you are going to get nothing for it? I'm going direct to DHL in the future. read more

I went to get Canadian passport photo, they were supposed to have shop stamp on the back (as required by Canadian application). They didn't have any stamp and just have shop name hand written on the back and the photo printing was horrible. It was much worse than DIY at home. Total waste of time and money. read more

I came to this story for my Nexus7 Tablet screen repair about a month ago. These guys are lack of experience and bad service!!! Within the whole month repair process, they never take the initiative to contact me! I have to call them first every-time. When I bring the tablet first time there, they said they could take care it, and everything is "no problem". However, they first do a mistake on ordering a wrong parts, that waste a whole week, and they change the repair price to $150 Days later, an screen set arrived, the technician break the new screen by another mistake! That still fine, everyone has mistake. He guaranteed to order a new one for free. Two weeks later, he finally success to replace the screen. But thinks doesn't looks like what he promise! They tried to charge me total $190 because the broken screen! They shouldn't even said that, the new Nexus7 just 199! Luckily, this guys are still honest, I finally give them $150 only. Week after they finish everything, I find out the new screen still has sensor problem, sometimes work, sometimes not. Now, I consider to just buy a new one. Never give your devices to them once you feel they are not familiar to it!!!! read more

Fadi Alhour assisted me with my computer. He is knowledgable, efficient, and very considerate. His customer service is impecable. I was in a bind and needed video files from my computer which was not starting. I had a presentation the next day and was desparate for help. Even though it was 10 minutes till closing time, he took an hour out of his own time to help me fix my computer and access the files I needed. My computer had supposedly been fixed several times by another business before and the problem kept recurring.
