The bacon was just the cherry on top. The service was great. Super fast and the workers are super friendly. Its a small restaurant in ward center with outdoor seating and indoor seating inside the ward shopping center. You put your order in, inside and pay there. Then they will pick up your to-go or dine in order on the outside when it is ready! Super easy process and super delicious. Weekends are very busy here. Go early because your favorite may sell out. I ordered the fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. At the moment addiction. I'm Obessed with their butter lobster roll. Its as simple as it can be. They provide Chips as well, Regular/BBQ & Jalapeno. They're a bit short staff which please anticipate a long wait time. They already let you know ahead of time that they are busy and the wait time will take a while. I been here 3 times in February and service has always been great. Lots of parking, a little walking distance. Lots of shops to look around while you wait. When driving into Ward Centre, it's impossible to miss Fat Cheeks with their beckoning red seafood sign. They took over a long vacant spot complete with dedicated outdoor seating protected from the sun and rain. You go inside the building to order; the menu is simple focusing on their popular lobster rolls, fried fish in sandwich or fish & chips form, shrimp, lobster burgers, and cheese/hamburgers. Prices are reasonable at around $15-$25/person, but with huge portions it's worth it. After ordering, they give you a beeper which rings when your order is ready - pick up at the outside window. This is a great place for big greasy food. The seafood drips in butter; the burgers are charred to perfection with flavorful spices and sauce. Fries are battered with a delightful crunch while still being soft inside. The staff was also friendly; it's a really easy and fun place to eat. We're back!! I got to try the chicken sandwich this time which I would rate a 4/5. The sandwich was made with two pieces of fried chicken breast topped with pickles, onions, and their special sauce. What stood out the most to me was that it was made with two pieces of moist chicken breasts and it was huge!! You can also order it spicy. This meal comes with a bag of chips or you can substitute the chips for a drink. I also got a small side order of truffle mayo for $2 (small sauce is $1.25 plus $0.75 for truffle) It had a nice truffle flavor and was made with real truffles. We couldn't decide where to eat at Wards so Yelp led us to Fat Cheeks. Everyone on the menu looks really good. We ended up getting the smashed burgers and fish & chips. We also got a lemon tart too. Let me tell you, the fish & chips was so good. The fish filets were big, 4 big pieces. The batter was crunchy. The fries were crispy. Make sure you order their homemade sauce. Definite 5 stars and definitely worth it. Staff and cashier were super awesome. When no one was at the register when I walked up, the chefs were nice enough to acknowledge me right away and said that someone would be right with me. Cashier was really nice also. Lobster roll was probably the best I've had so far. The lobster meat was really soft and it was CHUNKS, not like mashed or shredded like other rolls I've tried. Very buttery but so much flavor. Looks small but way more than enough. I was worried the toast was going to fall apart but it kept the overflow of lobster in giving the perfect bite each time. I had my first lobster roll ever from Jolene's in Chinatown back in 2020. Loved it, loved the fries, loved the chowder, loved the ice tea, & was happy when they opened a location at Bayview. Even with Jolene's being on this side of the island I have probably only eaten a lobster roll 3 or 4 times. This weekend we headed over the mountain to Ward Village (before the high rises sprouted out of the ground & gentrification it was called Ward Warehouse) to Fat Cheeks. I walked by it when it was in the Ohana Hale Marketplace but never tried anything, until this weekend. While I loved the buttered lobster roll ($23.50) & fries ($4.50) for me the star of our meal that day was the spicy chicken sandwich (&12.00). For 12 bucks you get a gigantic sandwich just bursting with flavor. Washed it down with one of my favs an Arnold Palmer ($3.75). If you haven't been I do encourage it, as much as driving into Honolulu & the expanding concrete jungle pains me the food we tried was ono & the rest of the menu looks equally as ono. Came here for lunch on a Friday and there was a line to order. There was not too many people in front of me but they take orders pretty slowly so I would say I waited around 20 min. I didn't realize they took online orders until I was already in the front so I would recommend doing that if you're in a rush or just don't want to wait. I ordered the lobster BLT & my dad got the shrimp burger. We also got a side of fries to share & canned soda. My total was $41. They told us our order would take around 25 min & they gave us a buzzer but it only took about 10 min. They have both indoor & outdoor seating which is reserved for them only. My BLT was delicious & I would definitely order it again. My dad said his burger was okay but he's not a fan of garlic aioli & they don't do substitutions. If you want a different sauce you need to purchase it on the side. Overall, I will probably return but I will make sure to place my order ahead of time. read more

I would say the downside is that They're only open 11-2 on Sundays but I saw they took last order at 1:15. Best bet is just to do any day but Sunday! The sandwiches come with a choice of bagged chips and they have bottled water and soft drinks. The best part of the lobster roll for me was the bread. A classic split top bun, it was fresh and had a nice texture. The lobster was market price, about $20 that day, but the flavor was muted, the butter-old bay seasoning covered up the sweetness of the lobster and left the whole sandwich greasy. The spicy chicken sandwich was slathered in sauces making it very wet and messy. The chicken had a hard fry and there was definitely a kick to it. In the end we ended up eating it with a knife and fork. If you want to check out Fat Cheeks, I'd stick to the cubano, the tender pork and pickled onions is the winning combo. read more

Loved the lobster rolls! We got two butter lobster rolls, lobster BLT and a side of fries. The rolls were true to the name and very buttery! The rolls and BLT each included a choice of either chips or a drink. The service was amazing, with a delightfully friendly cashier. We ate "in" so we sat at one of the tables right outside the ordering station. As soon as the buzzer buzzed, they brought the food out immediately. First time trying lobster roll and was quite excited. I was recommended by a friend that this is a great value and quality place for a lobster roll on the island. It is located in Ward Village behind Piggy Smalls. Parking structures are around the area. Recommend eating it there for freshness (crispy and hot). This place quietly appeared in Ward. Just when my heart was starting to break for all the local places being shut down to make way for condo construction, Fat Cheeks restored me. They have quite a decadent menu from a lobster blt to a double cheeseburger with lobster meat and then the tried and true lobster roll. We both got the buttered lobster roll which comes with chips (you can swap the chips for a drink, but in order to get fries, it would be an additional charge). It was heavily buttered, but not in a soggy way, it was buttered in the most divine butter to ever grace the meat of a lobster. One bite into the roll and butter will run down your hands and face. Starting with the butter, it was very flavorful and rich, almost a browned butter situation. The lobster meat was plump and juicy (not fishy in the least)and stuffed to the brim of that roll. And of course the roll was very traditional, soft and toasty with the shine of butter on top. We finished the lemon tart which was seriously the perfect way to finish that meal. The lemon tart was soft and fluffy with a nice fresh lemon flavor that wasn't too sweet. The crust really fit nicely with that lemon, it was soft and crumbly and not dry or overly sweet.
