Came here for lunch the other day and the first thing I noticed is that this retail area isn't that nice. The second thing I noticed was that the person who took my order was eating, which was unprofessional. Note that this location does not offer alcohol if you were looking to have a beer with your meal. The burgers don't come with fries, so you'll have to order them separately. I ordered the black and blue burger, which came with 2 patties and bleu cheese in the middle and I added grilled onions and mushrooms. The burger was pretty greasy, which was fine. The patties had ok flavor, but I they put some sort of seasoning on their meat, which makes the burger have this gritty taste in your mouth - I did not like that at all. I thought perhaps it's because of the blackened seasoning on this particular burger, but my wife's chili also had this similar gritty texture to it. The one thing I did sort of liked was their sweet potato waffle fries. The fries were cooked well. Although they seasoned with cinnamon sugar, which was interesting. On a guys trip to Tulsa we really wanted some burgers, so we thought this should be a good pace to get some burgers. I went with the classic burger which is stuffed with cheese, and was really looking forward to it. When I was given the burger I was told to make sure you stick the burger a couple of times with the toothpick because it could explode. TLDR: Burgers were great. One order of spicy fries fed two of us. They were good but needed to be crispier. Service was good. Location was good, nothing fancy but well kept. The Full Story: I had no idea this Fat Guys store was even here. We were at a nearby store and hopped on yelp because my go to for this area (Gyro Burgers) was closed. I was happy to see this as an option in the same general vicinity. It was off on a side street in a little strip mall. The place was not very large but it was more than adequate for decent crowds. I would say the atmosphere is causal like any traditional burger joint. The service was great. They were friendly and helpful. My son had the bacon burger and quickly commented that it might be his favorite burger in Tulsa. I went with the peanut bacon burger which did not disappoint. The only reason for 4/5 stars was the single order of spicy fries (plenty for both of us) we're not quite crisp enough and fell short. The fries were still good, just not up to par from past experiences. We went with ranch, garlic aioli, and bought a 3rd dipping sauce (parmesan peppercorn). food i've been to the restaurant location once before today, and i've known the restaurant in the past as the first store i tried a peanut butter bacon burger. that said, i've been abstaining from pork as much as i can, but that was not an issue since the restaurant serves a healthy variety of menu items, including multiple i'd not seen featured before today. one such item is the meal i eventually ordered, the fat pack slider combo, which came with two beef burger sliders topped with grilled onion, and french fries, and with which i got a fountain drink cup i'd filled with pink lemonade and tea. the slider burgers were really tasty, with the grilled onions pairing well with the small burger patties, and the toasted buns serving as a right cherry on top, and bottom, if you will. further, the fries were good, being satisfyingly crispy. and the oh so sweet pink lemonade, not available often, allowed me to uncharacteristically select unsweet tea to mix with the lemonade for a arnie palmer, which was quite refreshing. service the worker who received the order was polite and helpful. she displayed particularly good service by asking if i wanted cheese on the sliders, a choice that is so often assumed. ambiance the restaurant was not particularly busy while i was there, to my enjoyment, and which i'd think is expected at a restaurant on a standard wednesday evening. also, while the restaurant decor was not especially remarkable, the walk up ordering station and limited high top bar table seating were very reminiscent of a classic burger joint. read more

First of all the peanut butter bacon burger Thai chili style burger (per the servers recommendation) was absolutely amazing! I was very jealous of the boyfriend's burger but my bacon Cheese burger was also amazing, added the Thai chili sauce. srirancha and mushrooms. But now for my absolutely fav. The sweet potato waffle fries are to die for!!! Not to mention the best service from Ben who happened to be working this Saturday afternoon and was so nice, polite, friendly and very informative on their special blend of meat and how fresh the patties are. Okay, so it's a pretty good burger..It was big, stacked with two thick-ish patties and free to add toppings. It was very greasy and messy, I needed many napkins, plus bun was weak and disintegrated. Bacon was the best part, thick-cut and just crispy enough. Their main focus here is on toppings for flavor (well, and the grease). They serve everything in white bags so the grease can literally sweat patch out all over, nasty but old school gansta as hell. Too bad their patties are cheap, low-flavor beef and in need of more sear. Regular fries are thicker cut, brown and overcooked, greasy and kinda limp, then way over-seasoned and too salty. Plus too many stubby short ones in my order. Some may dig these artery bombs but I prefer a fresher tasting, crispier fry. Though the various 50 cent cups of aiolis and blended ketchups do help them some, especially the roasted garlic. The Utopik Craft Soda on self-serve means no more Coke products, but they now have killer root beer, so says my hubby. But sadly the rest suck. Service here is at the counter. We found the workers friendly and helpful. It's definitely a no frills burger joint, but a clean one. A big double patty burger runs under $10. A single is the kids burger and only $5 or $6 for a fairly hefty burger. It's big enough really. WARNING: If you pay with a card they will charge you a 4% surcharge and then extra tax on top of that, all without telling you which I highly frown upon. WARNING #2: Do be careful with their "Fat & Juicy" stuffed patty burger, because even with fair warning this Jucy Lucy-style cheese bomb has a tendency to burst with an audible pop..Scalding, molten cheese will go everywhere even possibly on those sitting around you (so sorry my daughter!). read more

Well, the journey started with stopping by their location that was right next to the Drillers baseball stadium but it was closed.. craving a burger we found another location on the other side of town so we drove over. The parking lot is gigantic and very easy to navigate. There were only 3 people working we got in there and were very chatty with each other. After we got our order in we went and got some drinks and sat down. They have only craft soda at this location... which was kind of a bummer. When I asked the guy behind the counter if they always put so much spice on the fries he a da I'd he didn't know. He said he didn't watch the guy make my fries. My order took 30 minutes to fulfill and it came out like this. This is inedible. Over 10$ for this "Fat and juicy" burger and they didn't even attempt to cook it. Burger was ok. It's very greasy and not a lot of flavor. They put butter in between the meat and this causes the bun to be soaked. The staff was nice and food was hot and fresh. This location is disgusting. When I walked in one of the cooks was sitting out at the bar on his phone. He went back to begin our order and I highly doubt that he washed his hands. They began to make my fries touching ALL over them with their bare hands and I never once saw any one wash their hands or grab gloves. Our first visit to Fat Guy's Burger Bar in mid-town. We use to go to the downtown location which we love. But, due to the Covid we haven't went there for quite some time. We just found out about the location in mid-town. We did carry-out this evening with 2 hamburgers & 1 large French fries. The burger patties were flat tasting, so we added some salt & black pepper. The mustard seemed to be runny causing the edge of the hamburger bun to be soggy. The French fries were good, but way too salty. Hopefully when we try it again sometime, it will be better. read more

It truly sucks how you can have one single employee ruin your entire experience of Fat Guy's and even almost ruin burgers for you in general. We have visited this location 3 separate times spanned out over a year and a half. Each time hoping we would have a better experience. I am finally leaving a review because this last experience was just disgusting. Mackenzie (the cashier girl) truly must hate working there or something must be going on in her personal life but that is not my business. What my concern is is that each time we have gone, I've come to the conclusion we have been profiled and aren't her cup of tea. My partner and I are both men, interracial at that as I'm a Latin mix and he's white. The most recent time we were treated the worst out of all three times, the nasty looks, lack of care when taking our order, never asked any questions (didn't know you can get any toppings you want) this goes to show you how crappy her customer service skills are. She has ZERO drive, she's fake, and again clearly hates life and hates working at Fat Guy's Burger Bar. Once our order was rudely taken, we waited for our food... While waiting for our food we see this nice white older couple, male and female walk in and guess who all of the sudden has so much life in her? Mackenzie! She was all smiles, asked how they were doing, how she could help and literally several other questions to ensure their meal was going to be an amazing experience. I cannot believe how we have been treated. It's truly disgusting. I have worked in customer service for over 15 years and I've never encountered something so nasty. Our mothers raised us right so she had ZERO right to treat us like trash. Truly disappointed and if I feel this way, I wonder how many other people she makes feel this way that aren't her "cup o tea". Give her the boot and find someone who wants to make the Fat Guy's experience, an experience one will never forget, and in a good way at that and someone who has integrity. That when corporate is in she is the same way when they leave... McKenzie needs to work at a Michaels or Joann's. Elderly people are less likely to catch onto her body language, nasty looks and crappy service. Or just stay home and do everyone the favor!
