This place has essentially perfect scores, but it doesn't deserve it, but hear me out. First off, the price, can NOT be beaten. But, what you order is key... Me and my friends tried a few different things, chicken, pork, lamb, fish balls, etc. The only one worth ordering is the chicken, otherwise halfway through, we actually threw all the others out because they could not be ate, due to taste. Get a lamb skewer. Seriously, get a lamb skewer. These guys grill skewers of meat for 5-10 minutes with tons of seasoning (lots of cumin) and it's cooked perfectly. A lot of carts around Flushing, Elmhurst and Chinatown sell skewers like this, but Fat Ni does it better than any of the other carts in those areas. If you want things you're used to, get: -lamb -beef -chicken -squid -tofu If you're willing to adventure out a bit, get: -beef tendon -beef tendon -chicken heart -stinky tofu -beef tendon -biscuit -beef tendon (seriously, it's that good) Just be careful, it takes them a little while to make your food, and it smells so good you might try to ask them to cater your wedding (I tried, they said no). First of all, I gotta say I LOVE LOVE LOVE lamb kabobs. Everytime I go to China, I get lamb kabobs. When I stopped here around midnight, it was so popular, there were like 10 people waiting in line! They make everything right in front of you, and you can customize some of the flavors like how spicy you want it. The lamb was so tender, there was a perfect amount of cumin seasoning, and honestly I think the lamb kabobs I had here tasted better than the ones I get in China. The best thing to grab after a night out or when your completely smashed. For the less adventurous eaters they have chicken, beef, or lamb seasoned with some spice and cumin. For the more adventurous eaters out there they have chicken hearts, stinky tofu, beef tendon, duck neck, fishballs, gizzard and etc. One thing you have to try is the squid. Continuing on my midnight tour of Queens food, I found myself moving from Jackson Heights to the area known as Flushing - aka the China Town of Queens NY. Fun fact that I learned along the way was that China Town is huge but comparably smaller than Korea town by something like 40-50 some-odd blocks! Yeah for real! I digress, I wasn't sure where we were heading but we soon pulled over to the side of the road and noticed a small gathering of people (at 2am) standing next to a food cart on a deserted street corner. I learned that this is a super popular food cart and it's essentially open 24/7/365 and they sell basically various kinds of meats on sticks. The cart is equipped with a long thin rectangular charcoal bbq in the center and for about $5 you can score 3 sticks of lamb (which is what we had). The style of cooking was not Chinese as I know it, from what I was told it's a western Chinese style cuisine with some middle eastern influence hence the heavy dry spices they coat all the meats with. The taste was fantastic but with that dry heat that lingers in builds long after you've swallowed, but the bits of fat skewered in between the hunks of meat kept the whole skewer moist despite the spice. Overall, worth trying and I'd like to come back here for more on an empty stomach and not at 2-3am (I literally woke up a few hours later and could still taste the spices anytime I burped -not so wonderful). These guys are contenders for the best bbq cart in Flushing. Not only they have the largest variety of skewers, they work the fastest as well. I only recently found out they are called Fat Ni but I have been their customer for years. Fat Ni is one of the few carts that open till the late hours of the night (I am talking about after midnight when you have post-KTV munchies late). Unfortunately that means you won't see them during the day and even early evening. If you can imagine it being on a stick, they will have it. On top of the classics like chicken, lamb, and squid, they also serve hearts, gizzards, kidneys, spines, wings, tendons, fish tofu, and more. They also have non-stick items like whole quails and pork chops. Recently they raised their price to $1.50 a skewer which is a bad sign that the bbq skewer scene is becoming more expensive. I haven't had a skewer from this truck in a minute. My friend and I got two lamb, and a grilled corn. Mine was a little too fatty, so gave it to my friend to finish. The corn was great; I should have asked for more spice. More spice overall, next time. It's still pretty delicious. read more

The location is easy accessible and is always located on this corner, right next to the flushing muni-lot. Wasn't what I was expecting and wasn't expecting much. Cool concept where you have a bunch of meats and veggies, sauced on and grill on a stick over open coals. Don't get me wrong, some of the meat we tried was good and spicy but overall experience wasn't a 4 star review. The lamb and chicken heart were good even though the lamb was a little chewy and fatty. The tendon I couldn't even stomach, just a like chewing on a rubber band with spices. The sausaga, actually how it is on the menu with the A at the end, was so sweet but grew on us. Think pork in the morning with a lot of brown sugar kind of deal. Wish they had more benches around the area. I wanted to try some vegetables, especially the corn which is grilled, blistered whole on the coal. Maybe if I am in the area again I will give it a shot but not making it a frequent destination. Huge positive though, even though we were ok having iffy meats on a stick, everything is priced so cheap. The four skewers we tried only cost $6! My go to BBQ cart in flushing. It's convenient with a parking lot nearby and across the street from my favorite Taiwanese restaurant (66 Lu's). I always save room for a skewer or two from here after grabbing food at 66. The lamb and beef skewers are tiny, but so succulent and full of flavor with that perfect smoky charred taste. Quail (although one quail for a stand is hella expensive now) and chives are also a must try! The chives soak in allll that seasoning.
