Loved our experience at fat patties. Went on a very busy evening because it is for a school fundraiser. We ended up snagging some seats at the bar. We had some fries as an appetizer, as well as a marinara and pesto, cheese stuffed stick. They were both delicious. We love that they offer an array of drinks, especially that they have beer from local places. I had a burger, and it was excellent. My husband enjoyed his wings. The ambience is casual. I've been here a couple of times, and as much as I'd like to rate this place higher, I honestly can't. Let's start with the good things-the location is convenient and the staff is very friendly. The menu isn't just burgers but I can't comment on the tacos etc because I've never tried them. The selection of beers available are fun and tasty and you do get large orders of sides. It's the burgers that are the issue to me. Like I said, I've been here twice now and tried two different specialty burgers. On the menu, the variety is good and there are many to choose from. However once they hit the table, they were, in both cases, a complete mess. For one, the patties are incredibly small and get lost in the mix of cheese, sauce and other toppings. With burgers being the centerpiece of the menu, I have come to expect way better from these high end burger joints. Really, the lack of stars in this review are all attributed to the burgers. Case in point, last night for a pair of burgers, an appetizer and a pair of drinks ran us about $60. In this day and age, that demands my socks being across the room due to being blown off by the awesomeness of the food I just ate. In both times I've visited, that was not the case. On our last morning in Beaufort, we stopped into eat at Fat Patties. We were actually looking to go to The Waffle House, but it seemed as if everyone else in South Carolina was already there. We were lucky enough to be the first through the door, and in hindsight i'm really glad that we chose to try something new vs. something familiar. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can't recall the guys name that took care of us, but he did a great job. He gave recommendations, and was very familiar with the menu. The food was really good. We started off with the fried green tomatoes, and blue cheese fries which were on point! We then got Who's your pattie burger, and burn so gouda chicken sandwich which were both delicious. Amazing with every bite! I had the beef and bacon patty with The Who's your patty topping and a side salad with chipotle ranch. My boyfriend had the beef and bacon with the steak out topping and the salt marsh porter brat with the sweet fire topping. We got our burgers with no buns because we are low carb. The food at every bite was mouth watering amazing. The restaurant was very clean and has a nice ambiance. They have a large variety of beers to choose from and other drinks as well. They have a sampler of 4, 4oz beers which I really enjoyed! The server was attentive and friendly. All around a great evening out for dinner. I didn't try the ice cream but now that i know it's made fresh daily I wish I would of! Awesome little burger joint! Came in after working all day and a burger and beer was exactly what I was looking for. They have a nice variety of bar type food with an pretty extensive beer list with probably 20 on tap. I had the beef and bacon blended party with fried egg, bacon and smoked cheddar served on a house made roll. The burger had a ton of flavor and was cooked close to perfect. Asked for medium but was closer to well. Hefty pile of fired as a side. You have the option to choose your type of patty and either build tour own of use one of the combos listed. Burgers fall into your $15 range but with it for the flavor and quality of the meat. There are a few more items I want to try so will definitely come back. read more

We have been here several times and the service and burgers are top notch! It's NOT just beef patties, you can order patties made of chicken, black bean, shrimp, bacon/beef and turkey. There are multiple combinations of burgers you can choose, they offer about 7 signature burgers and and an option to build your own burger with choices of toppings such as potato chips, onion rings, etc. The signature Rosemary fries are addictive. We also have tried the pimento beer cheese dip and the soft pretzel and steak nachos, would definitely order all three again. We are usually a party of 4 or 5 and we've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Check out their sign when you go by, they offer a trivia night and other special events throughout the week.
