He has not been well and requested lunch at Chili's now that he is better. We entered at the side entrance which opens into a dining/bar area. We walked to the front area to ask about seating but there was no one in site. My son cannot stand long and he cannot sit in a booth due to his scoliosis. As no one was there I led him to a tall table in the bar dining area. A greeter then came to us and wanted to know how many in our group. I told her 2 and she wanted us to move to another area or sit in a booth in the bar/dining area. I told her my son has scoliosis and cannot sit in a booth. Adding "I'm sorry but he can't sit there, can we sit at this tall table?" Instead of letting us sit she asked me to wait until she talked to someone about it and walked away.. Then she came back and said we could sit at the tall tables in the bar/dining area. Then an employee named M*****l came to our table with menus. I told him I'm sorry as he seemed kind of perturbed that we were sitting there. Then I explained again that my son had scoliosis and could not sit in a booth. He replied something about seating stations and still seemed rude. I asked him if he knew of the federal ADA (American Disabilities Act) laws; as all I wanted to do was take my son to a table that would accommodate him for an enjoyable lunch. The waiter then said, "Are we going to have a problem?" I was speechless. He then asked me if I wanted another server, to which I said yes. Because of all the disruption around our table, after my son typed his order on a speech device he began to bite himself which he does to cope with high stress social interactions. All we wanted was a nice lunch at Chili's in Espanola today. Please educate your staff on how to identify handi-capped individuals so that they can be sensitive to the needs of future handi-capped customers that visit the establishment. So when I got back we tried to ignore how bad this was going and we had a great time until we asked for a molten lava cake for dessert and he said yeah and then swung his arm with insane attitude. We sat at a high top in the bar area. We were given quite sticky and dirty menus. There's a food and a drink menu. Once the waitress returned I ordered a flight if beers as I like to try a variety at a new place. I asked if I should just give her the numbers of the six beers in my flight she said that was the easiest. When the lady tending bar brought me the flight I could visually tell it was wrong. Apparently the sticky menu I was given was out of date. Fortunately the fixed it all fir me. For lunch my wife had a blt and I did the green chile stew with the add on of a grilled cheese sandwich. The food tasted good but was weak on presentation. Clearly bar food.
