    Hot CHAR DOGS W/ FRIES!
    Jeff D.

First I lucked out with parking in their lot. Their parking lot has about 6 spaces and beyond that you would have to park along Clybourn somewhere. I did 2 char dogs with fries and a soda. The dogs were great but my only gripe was their relish. It's not Vienna relish but some other weird type. Maybe it's the bulk restaurant type who knows. The fries were killer, fresh cut and fried to perfection. Their soda machine has some flavors of their brand. I saw Sprite but that was about it in regard to recognizable flavors. I tried Root Beer and it was fine. The person who took my order on Thursday seemed like she didn't want to be there.

Hey! Who you calling fat? Though I won't be offended if it's me, I like to eat and I know it. I ordered the two char dogs (Chicago-style, ofc), with fries and soda. The fries were hot, fresh, and well-seasoned (S&P is available for those who want more). The hot dogs didn't take the crown from Relish, but are extremely solid and respectable nonetheless. They stayed together well and didn't immediately fall apart. The ingredients were all a-ok, no complaints there. The relish wasn't neon-green, but I'm going to say that isn't sacrilegious. Now, while a little more meat would have been nice, I appreciate that Vienna Beef Franks are a pretty standardized product. The service was friendly and appropriately quick for freshly grilled & fried food. The vibe inside is nothing remarkable, but has ample seating for a fast-casual meal. As for the prices, I felt as though the value was fair for two dogs, fries, and a drink. Thus, Fatso's delivers on a solid dog, and I would happily patronize them again if I'm in the neighborhood. However, it is not a destination for me.

04/14/25 - I've known about & driven by Fatso's Last Stand on many occasions & finally decided to stop in @ Fatso's. I ordered the Samuel's Double Fatso Extreme. This is a cholesterol laden double cheese burger w/Applewood Bacon & a fried egg sunny side up, add a slice of tomato, onion, lettuce, mayo & ketchup & you get a gooey delicious mess. As I was eating it the egg yolk popped oozing delicious egg yolk out & making the burger slide out & the bun fall apart. I think this burger is better eaten w/a knife & fork. I ended up eating this slippery slimy burger w/a knife and fork. My heart said stop but once my stomach decided this wasn't possible. I'm glad I finally got a chance to stop in & try this beast. I would give this burger a solid 4. Better than most but not on par w/Au Chavel or Little Bad Wolf but still a very good burger for a more reasonable price There are 2 Fatso's Last Stand. If you wanna feel like a Fatso, come to Fatso's! If you're craving some fast food without the fast food feel, come to Fatso's! I've been here a couple times already and they never disappoint. I've gotten the Chicago style hotdog, along with their cheeseburger and both have been great! The burger is nice and juicy and the fries are warm, fresh, and crisp! My daughter gets the chicken tenders here and she loves them. Inside, there is plenty of room to stretch out to eat and enjoy your food. It is a very casual atmosphere, you place your order at the counter and they call up your name/number once your order is ready. Fountain drinks are free refills which is always a plus for me. Their fountain drinks are not your traditional brands like Coke, Pepsi, or Sprite, either. But whatever the brands are, they go great with their food. Oh, and don't forget to order a milkshake!! The service is always fast and friendly - can't wait to go again!

They grill their hot dogs instead of boiling them! We got the Chicago and NYC dog and both were tasty. There is kind of a lot going on with the Chicago dog but it feels fresh with the tomatoes and pickle.

I tried the Chargrilled burger. I asked for no cheese but still got cheese. The service didn't take long so that's good. I came on a weekday plenty of seating and parking lot (which is very small) has parking spaces. The burger was just ok. My husband thought it was a good go to burger I thought it was alright. I'd probably come back because it's on my path but I've def had better burgers. The burger for the price wasn't anything to write home about. So the burger again was ok not bad but not great so I gave it 4 stars

Decent Italian Beef. Great peppers Great fries. Staff is all business and not overly friendly. They are competent...good enough. Very little parking. Dining area is kept clean and organized.

Delicious Chicago-style hot dog! A must-visit if you're in the Ukranian Village. I ordered the char-dog - grilled on the spot with a flavorful char (hence the name!), set on a poppy seed bun, two tomatoes, hot peppers, relish, onions and a pickle spear! It's the chicago style to include everything. But personally, I would put the pickle and pepper on the side because it'll be heavy on the natural saltiness (because you're already eating a hot dog, and avoid the pickle from overpowering)! The servers were friendly and quick. Use cash, if you can. They also have an ATM near the counter. I love how there's ample outdoor seating in that classic red and primary blue that says Fatso's! Relax on a bench during a warmer day and enjoy the sun. I do wish they had sun umbrellas, so you're not completely out in the elements - but I can't complain. Fun, unique spot!!

Great food with even better pricing! Burgers are always on point with the best fries! Not the mention the shakes. Go to is always a single fatso burger, fries and a banana cream pie shake!!! BEST COMBO EVER! The service is always top tier and their dining area is always so clean and themed. Owners really take the time to make it feel chill and decorated for the season or holiday! Highly recommend!

Hot dogs are fine. A little pricey in my opinion. I wish they would use bigger franks. $5.75 for a hot dog seems like a little much when you use a skinny frank. Why are we not allowed to give half stars. This is is a perfect place for that half star. Good but not great. 3.5 stars.

DOUBLE FATSO'S W/ CHEESE (PLEASE), SIDE GRILLED ONIONS, FRIES HOMEMADE
    Mary K.

TL;DR: Solid fast food burger, fries need work, amount of onion rings could improve I got take out for Fatso's and it was good in the sense that it wasn't super greasy, but it still had that fast food taste. Their double cheeseburger is good and has a great cheese melt .. you know when the cheese sticks to the fast food wrapper? That happened here which is a sign to me. They could improve in their fries as I had to add salt to them to make them better and they could have been crisper (I heated them up in the air fryer), but this could be due to the long walk back and not having them right away. The onion rings are good, but they don't give you a lot when you ask for it to go - could be different when you dine in

I really love Fatso's. It is one of the best burger / hot dog stands in the city. I tried both their cheese burgers and jumbo Chicago style hot dog. Both were cooked to order, fresh and exactly what I would expect. Service was super friendly and helped me pick the right menu items.

Stopped by this place and tried the DOUBLE FATSO'S W/ CHEESE (PLEASE) ... I must say it's by far one of the best burgers I have tried ...

Stopped by and tried the Double Fatsos with Cheese Please... I must say it's one of the best burgers I have tried... this place is a gem in the city ... I will be back to try more items in their menu as well

There's a char dog in there somewhere. Plenty of fries, though.

It is a pretty neat place when went in I saw that they have a lot of memorabilia all around the place. Also famous people have also been there with their autographs on their pictures. This place was quite busy which tells me that it must be good. It was very organized you can order your meal on a kiosk or at the counter. We decided to order it at the counter I ordered a famous Chicago hot dog which is an all beef hot dog on a poppy seed bun topped with chop onions, sweet pickle relish, tomato slices, dill pickle and a small spicy pepper with no ketchup but does have yellow mustard the price you could not bet it was very reasonable my guest ordered an Italian sandwich. After ordering the cashier gives you a receipt with your number on it and you step to the side. Then you wait until your number is called and that's how you get your order. Yes it was crowded but we waited for our two items for at least a half an hour which to me was unacceptable but besides that the place is really neat to try and the hot dog as well as the Italian sandwich was delicious definitely will be back again fingers crossed that we don't have to wait so long but the wait was worth it. They also have lots of seating around the restaurant. There is a second story as well you could sit up there.

It has that classic late night comfort food vibe and feels like one of those staple spots you have to try at least once. First night I ordered a polish hot dog with everything on it and a fish sandwich w/ extra grilled onions. Super cool that your order comes with fries and I added a cheese cup both times. In my opinion the fries were mid the first go around, but second time they were better. Definitely tasted better dipped in cheese. They were kinda airy in texture, if that makes sense. Polish hot dog was around a 6.5-7/10 for me. It did taste better warmed up the next day. What I was most obsessed with was the double cheeseburger and fish sandwich! both were easily a 10/10. Super good prices and worth the money. Also, the chile peppers were sooo bomb and hotter than I expected ! I wanted to eat them all, but they were packing some serious heat! The lemon Italian ice is where it's at, make sure to order one! You can also mix it with strawberry, but both times people recommended the lemon and now I see why. The line gets super active and busy past 10-11pm, but during the daytime it's way less crowded. Even when it gets packed the line moves pretty quick. I like that there are options for where you can eat. You can eat in your car and have the car hop bring you food. You can eat outside at the picnic tables. Or you can order inside and eat in their dining area. I also just found out that they provide catering! There were two dozen stalls in which you could pull in your vehicle and use an intercom box with the menu printed on the side to transmit your order. A worker would then bring the food/drink to your parking space and use a handheld device to swipe your credit card. Alternatively, you could do what I did which was park and then walk up to a service window and order from there. Adjacent to the service window was a door that led to a room with countertop seating which served as a dine-in area. There were also a few canopied tables on the sidewalk at the edge of the parking lot. Their Chicago-style hot dogs were the featured products, however most of the menu was made up of other fare like fish/shrimp sandwiches, burgers, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, french fries, shakes, malts, sundaes, cones, etc. The price for the namesake Superdawg was now a whopping $9.30! I ordered one of those that consisted of a cardboard box packed with a poppy seed bun containing a pure beef hot dog dressed with all the trimmings. Those ingredients were golden mustard, tangy piccalilli, a kosher dill pickle, chopped Spanish onions and a hot pepper. Included in the box was Superfries which were extra crispy crinkle cut french fries. I also purchased a regular size Mellow Vanilla Supershake. I took a seat at a countertop inside the dine-in area which had only customer when I walked in. As I opened my box, it was packed so tightly that you couldn't even tell there was a hot dog inside (see my photo). The Superfries lined the top while the pickle and sport peppers also surrounded the poppy seed bun. I finished the fries first that I felt were overdone. The hot dog was normal size with a good snap to the frank. The neon green relish was unique as the bright color stood out. For a hot dog and a measly amount of fries, the cost felt high in my opinion. That being said, I didn't try a similar combo at any other spots around town for comparison. The vanilla milkshake was thick and creamy and the best part of my order. I gave a three star rating for my dining experience at Superdawg.

A single dog with fries and a medium drink came out to about $9. While waiting, I loved watching their team work like a well-oiled machine behind the counter. Fresh hand-cut potatoes were dropping into the fryer, and the assembly crew was constantly building dogs and piling massive heaps of steaming fries on top. High output, fantastic energy! I even asked one of the prep guys if I could snap a picture, and he was super cool about it. The meal itself was awesome. The fries were piping hot, perfectly salted, and very generous in portion.
