This place is the mom and pop version of Panda Express (American-Chinese fast food). It is very comparable in flavor to the well-known restaurant that I mentioned but with double the portions and at a better price. Parking is provided; staff is very nice and helpful. It is lacking the ambiance needed to make you want to eat there so you are more likely to do a pick-up order. They also have some Szechwan dishes. read more

My frisbee team was in Bakersfield for southwest college regionals, and we were looking to get some grub after our games. luckily we found the best Chinese food in town, Feng Lin's. immediately we were greeted with utmost hospitality from the owner, who didn't mind a group of 20 college kids coming in at once. we spoke to her about why we were in Bakersfield, and she gave us free spring rolls and fortune cookies. my fortune cookie said "your next big idea is waiting for you". The next day, I got an email saying my research paper had been accepted for publication. I'm so glad for the time we spent and Feng Lin's. She even gave us all the leftover food upon closing down, and we ate it the next day at the end of the tournament. If you chance upon yourself to go here, make sure say hi to Mrs. Lin and be a good customer! read more

Panda? Nahhh. Feng Lin is so much better, food and price wise. And the soups! Hot and Sour or Wonton, can't go wrong with either. I better stop or this place will start getting crowded and ruin it for the rest of us! read more

Came in tonight for a little fast food Chinese. The family and I have been here a few times before. When we came in tonight, there was a family of three dining in, a Person ordering for themselves, and another that walked in just after us. We ordered 2 "combo Bs" which come with the choice of fried or steamed rice and chow mein, plus 2 entree items. The entrees all appeared rather fresh, and the prep area and counter along the entrees were very clean. The employee helping us was a bit short with us as to want to get to the next Person ASAP. We added an order of wontons and a small egg flower soup. We paid $22 and some change for all that (with no drink), and they were out of egg flower soup. I thought we would only be waiting nothing more than 5 min, but ended up waiting nearly 15 min for it while the rest of the food got cold. The owner was there cleaning, and reassured us that our wait wouldnt be much longer. The place was clean, the food was very tasty and fresh, and the cost wasn't terrible. The wait time for the soup, and the fact that they charge for refills on drinks is enough to lose a couple stars. I mean, who charges for refills? read more

So I decided to give it another try figured the ladies where hAving a bad day... well nope looks like the Service is still the same they are rude and unprofessional. This time there was no one here but me. So it's not like they were backed up or anything. She said "what do you want" when I asked for something that wasn't immediately available she rolled her eyes and said well you have to wait ten minutes. Not bad for a fast food quick take out Chinese place. Traditional china restaurants taste more fresh but this is an excellent alternative. Variety of good tasting dishes. I give them 4 stars for speed service and large portion size - they fill the plate until it can barely close. read more

It definitely wasn't for me or my family we had the orange chicken and mushroom chicken it was not good at all I was just looking for some affordable good Chinese food which I've had at several different restaurants but this was not it the orange chicken tasted weird the rice was very hard and overcooked the noodles were dry it just wasn't a good meal you guys try a little harder for your customers read more

I usually hate going to these types of places (fast food styled Chinese food) because they leave me feeling like I paid for a heap of flavorless food. But not this place. Everything I've tried here is pretty tasty and fresh. Obviously they are not a gourmet restaurant so take that with a grain of salt. They even offer shrimp fried rice which is my go to takeout option. The pricing is on par for similar local places and one of the very few on the east side. I've never stayed to eat so I can't comment on that experience however I have ate at the ice cream shop a few doors down. The area seems a little shady but I've never had any problems and there are usually quite a few people in the area. If you're on the eastside and looking for quick Chinese, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

Used to be my go to spot for a craving. Went in at lunch time and ordered won ton soup and a side of orange chicken. I ate the chicken and started to eat the soup when a spoonful of broth came back with a small roach in it. I am very disappointed because I would tell everyone this place was great, but now I can no longer recommend it. I'm sure there are a lot of restaurants with bugs and rodents but a little bit of quality control goes a long way. read more
